the composer of chrono trigger had 216 songs ready for the game but the computer he stored the songs on crashed and the song files got corrupted thus he lost all the songs and he had to within a month or so recompose the entire game, on the last 10 songs he passed out from an ulcer due to the stress of working several days without sleep and Final Fantasy 1-9 composer Nobuo Uematsu, his co-worker (and funny enough who he used to be a sound technician for before rebelling because he wanted to compose for chrono trigger after somewhat learning from working with Uematsu) composed the last 10 songs. now that's stress, this was back in the mid 90s when a loss was much more detrimental.

I usually employ songs with strong emphasis on drums when studying. Drums are very simple, yet generally their tempo are almost in sync with how our brains work. While this cover is a little too complex for studying, it works wonders when preparing in the last hour before an exam. Gives that extra oomph factor that really does reach something deep down, allowing for determination and focus.

You forgot the biggest influence of all, Gears of War. Great games in their own right, but the introduction of knock-down/team revives in Halo 5 was horrific. Not to mention the cast of 7 new, boring-as-bricks, spartans you had to play with.
