Emanuel what the fork are you talking about? Mercedes, Artie and most of the cast sang plenty during season one. Throughout the seasons they got a bigger singing presence on competitions. Plus, Finn and Rachel relationship was one of the main plots of the show since the beginning.
Mostly because in that Jonathan Groff was actually playing the piano instead of doing the bad piano playing acting shoulder movement he was doing when he sang 'Hello' with Lea.
The New Directions totally deserved their victory at Nationals. They may have never reached Vocal Adrenaline's Level, but they managed to win with their own style. And I really love the build up the New Directions had in the first three seasons. We could see them grow up from a little club of losers to a big group of show choir champs. And they reached their heights at nationals in s3. Paradise By The Dashboard Light was the best performance they ever did. And while the ND got better each year, we could see VA struggle and become weaker every year. After the first season they've lost Shelby and Jesse and I think they never recovered from that. They tried to replace them with new coaches and singers, but they've never won a national championship since. And in S6 ND finally takes VA down by beating them at Sectionals. I really love how the New Directions glew up in the series, while you could see VA go down. And while I really love VA Performances of Starships, As Long You're There, Bohemian Rhapsody, etc I think their main problem is that they only highlight one singer while the others only were back up. ND had a much better group dynamic.

I still had a strong feeling that Paradise by the Dashboard Light was really strongly Finchel presented EVERYONE had their moments. And everyone was at their peak. I also feel like it's stronger on VA's side of being an ACTUAL performance. They had RHYTHM. They MOVED. They were all over the place. Paradise by the Dashboard Light is simply ND Peak performance. They realized that they ARE performers. The show must go all over the place or something and boy it surely did in this performance!

To this day, I don’t get why the New Directions didn’t have that quality of performance. I mean... it’s fictional. It’s not real. The producers DECIDE how good the performances are. They could have made the New Directions as good, like they show here. I mean they didn’t come on set and just happened to be like “oh shit Vocal Adrenaline is so good” lmao no. They decided who did what. So why were the New Directions performances not as good? They had broadway singers and Beyoncé’s dancer in there for goodness sake. They could have let them show what they were able to do!

That song makes me sad in some ways. I think of Amy and how badly she needed that and the line where her daddy says she's fine. She was NOT fine and daddy and everyone around her knew it and just used her until there was nothing left. I saw a video of her last concert in Paris and she was so sick, so stoned, so drunk, and was booed off the stage. No sympathy. When she died everyone was crying and couldn't say enough about how wonderful she was, to young to die and blah blah. Just too bad.

I always thought this was weird, that he was satisfied with a half of a crustless pb and j sandwich for lunch, a full grown man would need more than that , it's like 2 bites lol, then again they did give them like 2 seconds to get lunch, they sit down, get the sandwich in their hands and then sing they have to go. When the pilot episode came out on iTunes... I knew this show would be big. Most of the pilots released on iTunes I thought were duds... this was never going to be a dud.

I so don't get why people think this performance is amazing and the ND never did as well as this. Sure, the dancing is great, but there is not much interesting about the vocals, it just sounds flat to me. ND had so many amazing singers and their sets always just sounded exciting and diverse. Maybe their dancing wasn't as good, but I felt like they made it up with so many just funny and diverse presentations. I think of season 4's 'I don't care' performance at regionals. That song had so many creative, performative moments that were so much fun to watch and all the performers had so much chemistry! (Even though vocally it might not have been as impressive as usual). I have watched that performance on repeat so many times! So by contrast, I just find this performance boring. I never really want to come back to it. It's like, yeah, you're good, but I don't really care.
