Living not too far from Lake Placid, I have had the opportunity to ride not only the new track, but the old track before it was discontinued. What a trip!
You know how you watch some videos of people doing something and think "Hey, I could do that!"? No way in h-e-double hockey sticks I could do this. I would probably crash before the first curve.
Thanks YT for the recommendation ... no complaints. Got a better appreciation for Bobsledding that's for sure, a speed freaks dream. Oh, and you can fly a plane, damn impressive.
That track seems poorly engineered. The walls on the inside of the curve should be normal to the track, not normal to gravity. That is because if a person goes too slowly on the curves, s/he will hit the upper edge of the inside wall and possibly be decapitated. Furthermore, the transition between the outside wall of the straight (right past the curve) and the banked surface of the curve should be a smooth and gradual U-shaped curve as to guide the vehicle back to the center, not a creased, sudden edge as to prevent riding sideways on the outer wall if going too quickly right after the end of the curve and overturning the bobsled.
This is cool and all, but... What exactly is it that you're doing in the sled and how/why is it justifiable to have entire competitions about this sport? This is just an ice roller-coaster, and you're just along for the ride. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to try this, it looks amazing, but the sled and the coaster are doing everything for you.
you steer to get down quicker. I could probably get round an F1 track within a few seconds of the pros with minimal training...whats 5s when a lap takes 2 minutes anyway? No-ones offering me a million dollar contract though...
@@bleughbloop8569 No, you couldn't. You are seriously underestimating F1. You would barley be able to drive an F1 car with minimal training, let alone get within 5 seconds of the pros. Also 5 seconds becomes extremely relevant when it is for 60-70 laps. It is a lot of time in racing. Not to mention qualifying. You seriously don't understand the sport.
@@bleughbloop8569 Lol, F1 is literally one of the 5 most physically demanding sports in the world. You could probably get around an F1 track with minimal training, but it would take you 3 times as long as the pros to complete a single lap.
When you accidentally watch the broom video, there's no going back
I’m not complaining! It looks Hella fun I might even do it when in 28 because I saw that one TH-cam video and now I’m into it...
and korean team...
It wasn`t accidentally...

Same lol
okay youtube, I apologize for watching the girl being hit by a broom
I am experiencing the exact same thing
@I search up Jane channell hit by broom during race
She didn’t forget her bib, there was no broom, no fans, no rollover, the brakes worked and she got in the sled perfectly! What has the world come to?
Holy shit are they fast. *Imagine getting hit by a broom.*
when a corner looks like youre going straight.
Surprised me how quickly once they got in how fast they picked up speed
The sleds reach 50 mph very rapidly , im not too sure what the top speed is that they get to.

@@DevSolar and to think that super g racers make turns at that speed on skis too
How the hell can you even see what's going on! Mad respect! You're nuts!
That is terrifying. My respect and appreciation for people who do this just went through the roof.
as did those people...
Living not too far from Lake Placid, I have had the opportunity to ride not only the new track, but the old track before it was discontinued. What a trip!
I didn’t even know what a bobsled was last week. Thanks to TH-cam I feel like I could write a thesis on them.
Love this track!
Don’t understand reaction times turn to turn ......unbelievable
Just like rally or F1.
Lot of practice and skills
And knowing the track by heart well in advance (like F1, unlike Rally).
This sport is amazing. I'm sure driving one of these sleds is something out of this world.
You know how you watch some videos of people doing something and think "Hey, I could do that!"?

I wanna try learning this honestly
id trip over trying to get my fat ass in forget the first corner
@T D interesting, thanks.
Good lord. The speed at which the sled transitions from a turn to a flat or straight makes it all look like a badly edited jump cut.
thanks for the ride.
Guess I'll be stuck watching bobsled videos till the end of my days
TH-cam. I cant take anymore bobsledding. What did I do?
Wow that's f*cking fast!!!😱
who in youtube randomly decided that we should all get bobsledding and winter sports on our feed in 2021
Thanks YT for the recommendation ... no complaints.

Oh, and you can fly a plane, damn impressive.
That looks so fun.
It's like the intro to warp speed that space movies use.
I thought they sped up the video in post they were going so fast
Whenever I thought it is going to stay at that speed, no ma'am. 🚀
If it could be safer, it would be really fun.. I like the feeling of G force and snappy transistions, as they are on roller coasters.
Wow, what an adrenaline rush they must get from a run.
I am seeing this game for the first time. If that's a sport I wanna practice everyday
Is this where the track starts or does it go highter of 1 mile
Must....stop...clicking...winter sports videos 😭😭🙈🙈🙈
F-Zero X IRL
Can non athlete take a ride here? Maybe with a guide in front, and they just use the track recreationally?
Why did they speed up the video tho after they got going :/
How do you possibly steer that thing?
SIGN ME UP! Like riding my streetbikes, except on ice!
you will never see me ever in one of them
Where do I sign up?!
Tebrikler.
aa ilk defa bu spora ilgi göstereb bir Türk görüyorum. 🙂
Wow, that is sooooooo fast!
Why did I just almost die?
How does one even start a career doing this?
You find a broom
Respect👑
What happened if you crash
There's videos of it..
Holy crap that's fast
RESPECT!
the broom sport
⭐ Star! ⭐
that made my head and back hurt but wtg
Just imagine: the whole life you ride on a sled, and you get money for it
HOW ARE THE BROON AND PAPERFAN PEOPLE HERE
this how fast
いやクソ速いなwwww
大会で事故ったシーン見てて体重移動がちゃんと出来てないからとか思ってたけど、こんなスピードで動体視力だけで体重移動とか無理だろww

Its a endless rabbit hole. i wanna stop watching bobsled videos pls
yeap.... nope...
Cute girls
Looks sped up 😂
Its almost certainly sped up
Sped up
i dont think so. the track record for 2w bobsleigh is 56.9 seconds. this run was about 60-61s. it just is that fast.
Not sped up. However, the ultrawide camera angle does make it look faster than it really is.
