Hi Big Man, the young ones seem fascinated by the steam locomotives, the real younger ones do not like the shrill blast of there steam whistles, where if they are a bit older they want to get in and give the whistle cord a good tug. Your young ones obviously enjoyed it if they came back with you all three days. Did you buy a sausage from our sausage sizzle? We were flat out over the three days it was very busy, we have never seen it so busy. It was a great event and well managed by Steamrail. Glad you enjoyed the event. We took the DERM out on a Suburban tour on the 10th April and I believe we are now planning a weekend trip in three months to Deniliquin. Regards DERMPAV
@@colmornane5684 We sure did buy your Sausages, Thank you for the cheap food it was delicious. Dermpav volunteers are some of the nicest people around. I couldn't keep myself away from VLine's Diesels, As I used to drive P's on freights at FA along with A's etcetera. You can't go past the beautiful sounding Derm or a R class, Shame that Steamrail will not fully restore 700. Young ones aren't too young, All are within 7-15 and loved everything. Cheers
Hi Peter, thanks for your comments, we had a great 2022 open day, it was very busy, constantly very busy! Unlike the 2020 open day. As a result, we are now reorganising our activities to better manage the crowds of people at our sausage sizzle hopefully reducing the queue wait time from 15 minutes to 7 minutes which was manageable at the 2020 Open day but for the crowds we anticipate over the 2024 open days. Regards DERMPAV.
What's the condition of R 700 in terms of completion same with K 160 and J 549 Also what's the story with R 753 has its boiler been inspected What is story w I t h the moving of Steamrail to Geelong and what is the next project Might I suggest saving the J classes at Dimboola and Mulwala thanks for upload
I need to extend my apologies, I have no idea about the condition of R700 which is in Steamrail's care and R753 which is in 707 Operations care. Your suggestion of rescuing a J class from a park might be better directed to Steamrail or 707 Operations. I understand that Steamrail rescued A2 986 from Warragal and successfully returned it to active heritage service so that may be a good place to start. Hoped you liked the video. Regards DERMPAV.
G'day Colin, Great video mate. Brought my young ones through over all 3 days and they loved it. Keep safe and see you on the Derm.
