Rob is one of the best whistlers I've ever heard. Had to rack my brain...they're singing to the tune of Billy Joel's song "Honesty." I love this and great reaction
THANK YOU for saying "It's not for your safety, it's for everyone else". and thank you for doing Home Free in this time when it's hard to get out a performance.
Yes, they each recorded themselves at their own homes and their film & sound editors Jimmy and Sami put it together. They did this in 1 week after a regular Zoom meeting when the idea was brought up. It was written by Tim Foust. For some massive bass notes, I suggest Misty Mountains by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. It will blow you away!!
I about fell off my chair laughing when I watched this and had to show my room mate, then neighbor... And again just now. They've been doing a series called "Home Away From Home". Adam Rupp (beat boxer) actually did one from his house. That was actually his gaming room he was in. Every time I see all those figures, I recall that video and start drooling for a room like that! Try their rendition of SOLD! for a few more low notes. Chance was actually singing some of the bass here. They switch off and I make a game of trying to catch them at it. LOL Thanks! ^_^
Tim has notes that will BLOW YOUR MIND! I showed these guys to my mom and WOW! I recommend their man of Constant sorrow, and elvira. For elvira they paired up with the original singers of the song. It was amazing. Just like the song they did with Kenny Rogers. Hope to see more content from you!!
I love these guys. Tim, the bass man of the group wrote the lyric's and everyone jumped in through Skype and recorded this. So fitting for the times we're going through now, yet so funny. Thank you, just subscribed.
Jase, you love low notes, you gotta hear Tim Foust & Peter Hollens doing Misty Mountains from Lord if the Rings AND Avi Kaplan & Peter Hollens doing the old classic ballad , Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair. The bass in these will blow your face off.....but in a good way! :)
Adam Rupp is their amazing beatboxer and is also a D&D player/dungeon master. The models are part of his basement set up he shared in a video. Though his home sound and editing studio is also amazing.
Thanks bunches for doing this and yes thanks Richard. Man of constant sorrow is a great song to react too as well. Love your reactions. Thanks bunches again!!!!
Please react to more Home Free!! They are Phenomenal!! Definitely my favorite band! And I enjoy watching your A Cappella Reactions. I was in my college A Cappella group for two years as a beatboxer and baritone!
So funny but yet very serious ! First time I heard them whistling in it , which I loved ! Great reaction and I'm glad you're one of the smart people in your town ! Please stay safe and healthy!
I love how you appreciate those low notes! I thought that was Rob whistling, but someone says it’s from Billy Joel’s version. I don’t think so. They don’t “sample”. Rob is a very good whistler as he has done it in several older videos. I love Home Free and their humor. Tim wrote the lyrics and they’ve been trying to come up with ways they can record videos from their homes. Keep safe, Jase!! I enjoyed your reaction!!
There's no doubt it's Rob whistling on this track, I think what they meant was he was doing his own version of the whistle solo that was on the Billy Joel song.
Alright man, you are they first reaction guy I’m going to subscribe to. I usually can’t do it just cause they have nothing to say, or nothing to add, but you think the same way I do so I like your stuff. Edit: You absolutely need to listen to Mayday!!! It will flip your freaking world, on how you think the Home Free boys get it. In The Blood is another one of my favs. Then maybe End of the Road for another twist, and to listen to Rob kill it.. well just listen to them all!! One of my all time favs is Go Rest High on That Mountian. Edit 2: What we ain’t got is Tims, deep voice leading the way
For your around the world videos. There is a barbershop group from Sweden called Ringmasters. If you check out their Norte Dame Medley you will be absolutely blown away. Generally, you only get one “tag” in barbershop but these guys do two!
Great to see such a fast reaction to their new video, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you compare this with their last video, the Vince Gill classic "Go Rest High On That Mountain" you can really see the emotional range these guys cover, as well as how well they make music. If you want some more of their goofiest songs, go for the Butts Remix and the Country Fried Pop Medley - if you want something beautiful and thoughtful, go for In the Blood or I Can't Outrun You.
The one thing you find about the "Home Free Community" which is comprised of the group Home Free and their Fans the Home Fries, is a connection that I haven't experienced anywhere else. So for them to put this together to give us a smile, was pretty epic in my book. Thank you for sharing this.
Love you’re stuff Jase! Thank you for your music reviews. Wish I could think of something to recommend but please keep it up. I can see you getting bigger because your personality is so fun and genuine.
You've discovered the comedy side of Home Free! They're not only an acapella group, but they do quite a lot of stand-upish comedy. Of course, explore more of their music videos, but at some point you should check out their live shows.
I have enjoyed Home Free since The Sing-Off. They have so recently released an amazing cover of Vince Gill's Go Rest High on That Mountain. The video story line and the music? Sheer perfection! They are: Whistler- Rob Lundquist High Tenor - Austin Brown Bass - Tim Foust Hope this helps! Baritone - Adam Chance Man of many sounds: Adam Rupp
They have behind the scenes on their Patreon. I really hope they release this one to the general public because it’s a really great one! Edit: check out Hillbilly Bone! And Castle on the Hill! And 9 to 5! And the live version of 9 to 5! And Adam Rupp’s drum solo (make sure it’s as recent as possible because he adds to it and improves it all the time). And the Butts Remix and Country Fried Pop Medley. All by our wonderful Home Free. And that’s not even the tip of the iceberg 😉
You should check out Chris Mann's quarantine parodies. He's an awesome singer to begin with, but he embraced his inner "Weird Al" & did parodies like "My Corona" ("My Sharona") & "Hello (From the Inside)" (parody of Adele's "Hello"). I think you'll enjoy those too!
New subscriber. I’m looking forward to more Home Free reactions. There are so many more new Covid-era Home Free videos (they’re putting them out every 2nd week) all recorded separately and edited together brilliantly - an example of this is Meet in the Middle.
This is definitely one of their funnier. (Still great sounding) but more enjoyable videos/songs, but they also have great slower more deep songs that definitely will give you goosebumps the entire time.
Adam Rupp the beat boxer is the guy with all the models. That room is just for gaming. They did an awesome job. Thank you for checking this out. They do some amazing covers and originals. Hope you'll check them out. Tim Foust collaborated the Peter Hollens to do Misty Mountains......as song from the Hobbits Movie. Lots of bass
I saw this video as it was live streamed and I was dying the whole time being a Billy Joel fan as well. Also I was remembering how Joel talked about how he really needed to start writing lyrics for the song as they were composing the music, as his drummer started singing; "sodomy, such a painful word".
Good reaction, I will echo the comments that suggest Man of Constant Sorrow as high on the Home Free playlist and for a true mind... melt after you get 8-10 songs deep in home free then and only then react to their cover of Mayday.
First like! I’ve commented a few other neat videos I think you’d appreciate, namely Lindsey Sterling - Roundtable Rival and 2Cellos - Thunderstruck and Supermassive Black Hole.
I think Tim is wearing his Dude outfit. Check out their video for This is How We Roll. They're playing the character from The Big Lebowski and the video is lots of fun. Another movie based vid is Working for a Living - Anchorman. Love 'em both so much.
You made mention of "Models" behind Adam Rupp..their Beatboxer....they are actually all figures and various other pieces for the Game "Dungeons and Dragons!"....Adam is the Dungeon Master for a group that gets together in his basement at Home where He also has a massive 3D model Layout of the Game!.He has a computer set up from which He controls what is happening....obviously a BIG an of the Game!
You're on it. I like that. I've seen several of your videos, and I am behind yhe times acter finding you channel, but yhis shows your on it, so... SUB'D.
there typical funny take , they dont take themselves to seriously , but when they sing it perfection,, gotta do their version of boys to men , end of the road, or seven bridges road , helplessly hoping,in the blood and hillbilly bone . Thats a good start . I have never heard a bad Home Free song yet , you are def becoming a home fry
That's actually their animals too. :) Tim was fostering that kitten and it has a forever home now. Dog is Satchmo, Believe Adam's cat is Thor. Rob has a black lab named Penny Lane but she was probably out playing with his kids, unless he wasn't at his actual cabin. Everyone else, yea pretty sure that's their home. If you want more whistling there's Butts remix and Champagne taste on a beer budget. Both hilarious. Peter Hollens is awesome too, you should totally do his latest video with Bryan Hull. and his Epic Hand Washing Medley too. It's soooo funny.
Ok, it's time to bring out the big guns Pentatonix: Dance of the sugar plum fairy, Love again, Can't hold us, Making Christmas Home free: Hillbilly bone, Elvira, Honey I'm good, All about that bass Tim Foust & Peter Hollens : Misty Mountains You literally can't go wrong with any of these 🥰
The beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is a huge Dungeons & Dragons player. They did a whole series of 'quarantine' videos including "Down to the Honkytonk", "Meet in the Middle", "Moonshine", "Diamond Dreams", "Sunday Best", "Flowers on the Wall", "Folsom Prison Blues" and a collaboration with Peter Holllens of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Go back to falling down the Home Free rabbit hole (you've gotten hooked on PTX).
Rob kills the haunting whistle every time! I love how they took the sadness of the original song and brought it to this parody... I'm sure that Billy Joel would LOVE this. They are genius! You said protests in your town, I'm in Michigan and they were mobbing the sidewalks here. Where are you from (if you don't mind me asking)?
Hey Jase... been watching your channel for a minute and have enjoyed them very much... especially the ones with Pentatonix! When you get a chance you should check out a Swedish trio called Dirty Loops! I’ve been listening to them for about 4 years...and I can only describe them in one word...sick! Fusion funk pop cover band. Check out their latest, “Rock You”! (remember to strap in). Enjoy!
These guys are great! They nail the music every time and have a good time doing it. Every time I watch this one, I discover something new -- it's hard to focus on 5 clever mischievous guys at the same time! Included in their long list of songs are several that are humorous. One of them is an original called "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget." Yes, absolutely check out Peter Hollens, he's amazing!
He watched and reacted to the a few weeks ago
You need to watch more of their videos. These guys are awesome. Everything theyve done are off the charts wonderful. Stay safe and be 💪
Rob is an excellent whistler. Please check out more Home Free.
I haven't heard whistling like that since Roger Whitaker.
Awesome...always perfect pitch. They rock!
Should check out their version of Man of Constant Sorrow. 😊
Just awesome video from Home Free! Thanks for this!
Amazing vocal and hilarious. Thank you, Home Free!
That whistling at the beginning is actually the whistling solo from Billy Joel's "Stranger".
I also love the fact that Tim is dressed like "The Dude".
...and the song itself parodys Billy Joel's "Honesty"
@@rimasmuliolis1136 Yep, I just forgot to come back and comment on that.
Check out their cover of “This is How We Roll” they all dress up as characters from The Big Lebowski, it’s hilarious!
Tim frequently does “The Dude”. They did a whole bowling outing on Halloween where they were all characters from The Big Lebowski
Melissa Wilson They did a whole music video as characters from TBL. This is How we Roll.
I about fell off my chair laughing when I watched this and had to show my room mate, then neighbor... And again just now. They've been doing a series called "Home Away From Home". As a fellow DM, I am so so jealous of Adam’s setup.
Thanks bunches for doing this and yes thanks Richard. Man of constant sorrow is a great song to react too as well. Love your reactions. Thanks bunches again!!!!
Really enjoy your reactions. Thanks. Love Home Free!!
Great and funny song.
Please react to more Home Free!! They are Phenomenal!! Definitely my favorite band! And I enjoy watching your A Cappella Reactions. I was in my college A Cappella group for two years as a beatboxer and baritone!

Beth Coussou Rob definitely did the whistling. He commented on it during a livestream before the premiere. He is the best whistler I’ve ever heard.
There's no doubt it's Rob whistling on this track, I think what they meant was he was doing his own version of the whistle solo that was on the Billy Joel song.
I was so not expecting a parody of Billy Joel's "Honesty". I'm a massive Billy Joel fan and a massive Home Fry. So this is just... too good.

they are each in their homes, that's Adam's D&D room.
I love the kitten that arrived from amazon and is sitting on Tim's shoulder. And, what a chill cat that Adam has.
yes! Tim's new foster kitten is adorable!
The one thing you find about the "Home Free Community" which is comprised of the group Home Free and their Fans the Home Fries, is a connection that I haven't experienced anywhere else. So for them to put this together to give us a smile, was pretty epic in my book. Thank you for sharing this.

That was AWESOME!!! Aww I love them so much! ❤
Love you’re stuff Jase! Thank you for your music reviews. Wish I could think of something to recommend but please keep it up. I can see you getting bigger because your personality is so fun and genuine.
Austin lives with one of their editors. They recorded the vocals individually in make-shift studios and the audio was sent to their producer
My favorite Home Free tune ever is "Catch Me if You Can," from their latest album. It is a blast!! I play it on repeat.
Repeatedly.
You've discovered the comedy side of Home Free! They're not only an acapella group, but they do quite a lot of stand-upish comedy. Of course, explore more of their music videos, but at some point you should check out their live shows.

I will point out that just because the town opens up, doesn’t mean you have to go into the shortsighted folks
I love this new song on the frame of Honesty by Billy Joel! Love your reactions, and keep doing the good work!
You have to watch it a few times to catch all of their shenanigans. The released a new one today.
I'd really love to see you do more Home Free. Please try out Mayday, Helplessly Hoping, I Can't Outrun You, and We All What We Ain't Got.
First time hearing their new song was from this vid and I'm pretty sure it's a cover of Billy Joel's song "Honesty" from like '78 and I love it lol
The melody is Billy Joel's "Honesty"
Thanks. I knew I knew it but couldn’t peg it!

Yep, they are in their homes.. and that's Adam Rupps game room, he plays Dungeon &Dragons and those are his game miniatures and books.
The beatboxer (Adam Rupp) is a huge Dungeons & Dragons player. Rob kills the haunting whistle every time! I love how they took the sadness of the original song and brought it to this parody... I'm sure that Billy Joel would LOVE this. They are genius!
