    Steve's current recumbent trike is a 2021 HP Velotechnik Scorpion fs26 Enduro, outfitted with Schwalbe Marathon PLUS road tires instead of the stock knobby off-road tires. He has also owned a 2015 ICE Full Fat off-road trike, a 2014 Catrike 700 speed trike, and a 2007 ICE Qnt trike ... not to mention three bikes (Specialized Roll Elite - Motobecane Night Train fat tire - Easy Racers Gold Rush recumbent)

    Thx for sharing. This video shows that a trike can take a lot of beating rolling on those Arizona out backs..

      @The-GreenHornet ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I go slow and carefully, not to beat it up. About a walking pace.
      My whole philosophy is...I'll get there when I get there.

    Bear Mace is like peeing, Don't pee into the wind. You might just get yourself... ! LOL have a great ride. Rob

      😆...Yeah I've got some residue from discharging the bear mace at two bull mastiff's. It sent both of them back in their yard, and had me burning and eyes watering, until I found a water spigot to rinse it off.
      It's a good thing I love eating jalapeños raw. I love hot food, so it probably didn't effect me as much as someone else who can't handle hot foods.

      @@The-GreenHornet The Capsaicin has an oily component.. it is good to carry water and a soap like dawn with de greaser to get the spray out of eyes.. We live...We learn.. LOL

      @@rdkuless Good idea about carrying a little bitty plastic container of Dawn dish soap to wash your face with water.
      Wally world has those little plastic containers in the cosmetic section. I could fill one of those with Dish soap and put it in my side seat bag. Just in case I need to wash after discharging.

    That look great, is that a riverbed you’re camping in? How far did you have to ride? I have a TerraTrike Rambler All Terrain 24 in,

      A little sandy wash just down and off the powerline road. It was nestled between the higher ridge on each of the sides. Kept the wind from blowing on my stealth camping spot.
      Absolutely no rain in the forecast.
      I wouldn't do it if it was going to rain up in the mountains.
      Flash floods are extremely dangerous in the desert and can travel a very long way. No rain anywhere close, and you're fine.

    Awesome! Stay safe out there! No suspension on your trike? How are you liking your power grips?

    • @The-GreenHornet
      @The-GreenHornet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No suspension on the Catrike Expedition. I just go really slow and take my time on the powerline roads.
      I designed and custom made my C.E.P's Cool Ease Platforms.
      The aluminum foot Platforms that you see me pedaling on.
      I use the power grips to keep my shoes snuggly in place.
      They aren't really tight, just enough to keep my feet secure. I can slip my shoes in and out very easily, yet snug enough to keep them in.

      @@The-GreenHornet I have a Catrike Trail and love it. At first, riding on our dirt county road I thought my brain would get jostled too much and I was thinking I messed up by not getting suspension. I did get beefed up tires though. I have since learned to go much slower on the really bumpy/chalk rock sections and the ride is not too bad. My road is nothing compared to what you are going on on your camping trip. I have Pedal Innovations Catalyst pedals and my feet feel very secure on those flat pedals, but my trike shop ppl keep warning me to get some straps for added safety. Still pondering. I absolutely love riding on paved trails or around paved roads at the various camping parks we go to also. You take care out there. Fabulous scenery! Where are you off to next?

      Not sure where next, but keep watching if you want...Like and Subscribe.
      I don't usually ask or tell people to do so.
      My channel is just for fun, not interested in trying to get a huge following or monetizing...definitely not.
      Just want to encourage other trike riders to get out there and do similar stuff.
      I don't post a lot of videos like other channels do. But I'll try to make each video fun and interesting.

    Where can I find your trike cover?

    • @The-GreenHornet
      @The-GreenHornet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had it custom made by a friend who had her private upholstery business out of her home.
      She recently retired.
      So even I am out of luck to get anything else made from her.
      I ordered the rip stop nylon camouflage material on line.
      I'm try and find you the exact material. It's extremely thin and waterproof. From there, you can order it and find a upholstery person to make you one per your dimensions of your trike.
      I also had a pull cord sewn around the bottom as part of the tarp. To pull it tight around my trike, so it couldn't blow off due to wind at night.
      Make sure the tarp is made so it comes down low enough a few inches above the ground around your tires, so that it can't come off easily. I'd say a few inches above the ground. The decreasing radius of your tires will keep it secure as long as the tarp can be snugged tight by the pull cord below the greatest radius of your tires.

      I imagine one of the handful of 8'x10' camo tarps is the easiest way to go. I have one with kryptek camo from SJK I like.
