I'm an ESFP - the most profound part of this video: When you pointed out we don't compare, we don't envy - instead we celebrate when our peers excel! I had no idea this was ESFP related. I've been venting to friends - why do people, good quality - awesome friends (good people). Why do they get down on themselves when peers excel in life. Or why do they try and critique our peers so harshly. I.e. I'll talk highly of a mutual friend - point out something very specific that sets him apart from us - But then my friend will respond with something that normalizes our friend, and makes him not so unique or special. I'm like - can't we all just admit our friend is special!? Can't we admit he's way better at this particular thing than the rest of us? What's the big deal!? --- My rationale, if I had to come up with one... Their life - has nothing to do with mine. If they do good / if they do bad - in no way, shape, or form impacts my progress, my life - my opportunities etc... I think of it as all our lives are parallel - they don't touch. So no matter how successful my friend becomes - his life doesn't intersect with mine - so it doesn't matter. It's hard to explain - but the point is - it doesn't matter!
Idk if I'm esfp but to me envy is about who is it directed to. If it's my friends i would get fascinated by their skills and compliment about it but whenever it's acquaintances or strangers, i just can't help it
INTP married to an ESFP. Thank you so much for this one. ESFPs are so misunderstood! My husband is very intuitive about people, so I'm glad you mentioned that. They bring so much to the world. And yes, they genuinely care and want to know how you are when they ask. And I love how so mentioned that if you were at any time a special person in their life, they will hold on to that and you will always be important to them, no matter how many years since you've seen them. They have huge hearts.
I'm an INFP guy and my ESFP friend can tell when something is up with me and even when Im completely fine she still asks me "are you sure everything is ok" which shows she cares, and I just appreciate that very much about ESFP's.
I think one of the best bosses I've ever had was an ESFP. Always wants to improve things, encourages everyone, listens and gives the right amount of space. Always stays positive and makes the best out of a bad situation. Ask for help and communicates when no one else can. A great teacher in the work place. And Goal oriented.
Hey Meghan! 👋🏻 I’m an ESFP and I really appreciate you taking the time to look at the positive side of the personality type. 🤗 So many people are so negative about ESFPs in the comments on TH-cam, and it’s sad! I think we as ESFPs really care about what people say about us, and it’s sad that we’re often so misunderstood. I think maybe the unhealthy ESFPs are polluting people’s experience of this personality type, which is a pity because I really just want the world to be a better place because of the positivity I bring to people around me! ❤️ When you talked about ESFPs following our dreams and being a cheerleader for others to do the same... that’s basically what my job and my TH-cam channel is all about!! 😂😂😂
All of this resonates with me! I love how you talked about if we love someone or someone touched our lives once they forever hold a place in our hearts. That couldn’t be more true! If someone from childhood reaches out for example I would genuinely be ecstatic and thankful to hear from them and everyone who’s ever done anything nice for me or people I love will always mean the world to me. Thanks for all the nice things you said!
ESFP, and definitely hands-on. My best intelligences are music, spatial and kinesthetic, all 90% or higher, and my best career clusters are the skilled trades and the arts. I currently have a side job as Recording Artist, Susan M. And I have also worked professionally as an actor/model 👍
Thank you for this video. Not many poeple see or understand this part of the ESFP. We really do love to see people living up to their true potential. We all make mistakes so let's forgive, move on and grow to become better people. I also think it's great that you highlight the positive aspects of the personality types. Keep it up :D!
enfj here and in my experience having an esfp as one of my closest friends I couldn't agree more. they are deep, intuitive, genuine, sweet, sensitive, free-spirited incredibly hardworking and downright hilarious. their honesty and down-to-earthness is refreshing and their emotional expressiveness is transcending and sometimes their actions do nothing short of getting my adrenaline pumping. really fucking cool people. they opened up my world on what it truly means to LIVE and enjoy the moment. many inside jokes and kooky voices and always a new story to share. they ask me about my day and are genuinely curious and care about what I say. love talking on the phone with them and they make me feel uplifted when I'm down. they don't ever assume things and open-minded/encouraging of things that I want to do that I'm afraid of doing. I
Hi Megan, Been watching your videos😀 I was curious about what my friend was who lives in Mexico and I'm in the U.S. I asked her to take the test and she is an ESFP. We have video chatted for a year and something remarkable about this friend is that she and I have never had any big fall out or fight. We video chat off and on, sometimes a week or even a month without talking but I never feel neglected or petty about it with her. When we do connect again though its a blast. I've had many friendships that would crash and burn because of betrayal-loyalty things, recently a huge emotional fight thing between an ENFP and I... I think because were very similar, I'm an INFP guy. But my friendship with this ESFP friend has always been pleasant, we have serious talks and a lot of times we laugh our heads off. We both are very emotional - laugh uncontrollably and we do have times where we listen about the bad day were having. I recently made a short film and I told her it would come out in Dec and when I showed her a few clips she was definitely cheering me on. The thing is I havent finished it yet and she brought it up recently saying she needs to see the final film. I've never been one to finish things but she was telling me she will make a fan club and stickers if she doesn't see this film that Im in. I will definitely complete and show her the film but its crazy how your explanation matches up with even that example. Usually Im one to feel very neglected or betrayed by people in the past but I never feel like this with the friend I mentioned.
You were saying that the ESFP was very intuitive, like an empath. This is pretty common for all Fi users I think, as long as their Fi is conscious and developed. As an INTJ, I may not always be paying attention to feeling (for example if I'm using Te/Ti to work on writing code at work and I'm not paying attention to the conversation of my coworkers in the next cubicle) but when I turn my attention on someone, I can easily read and understand their emotions.
I love ESFPs! They seem to me like the people who live for the external world and never ever question them selves at all. I think they really know who they are, and what they want, and don't feel the need to change who they are, or justify them selves ever. (ISFP)
Sarah, just Sarah you can‘t be two personality types😂 it‘s easy to get confused i thought i was an ESFP for a while but i‘m actually an ISFP. look cognitive functions up and you‘ll get a more in-depth description of the types.
ESFP talking here :) if we see something wrong or not correct we tend to correct this too but lot of times we get misunderstood as a know all but in fact it usually happens before we think because it comes out intuitive in a sense to help not to show off but lots of non ESFP's see it as criticism and not as a well meanted tip or help. Because we always just want to help people and guide them once we can see the bigger picture. (( So ... That being said 😁 the opposite of love isn't hate, but indifference is the opposite of love AND hate 😁 😋 ... )) ESFP's also don't like to talk about themselves in a group, eventhough they love the center of attention when they are relaxed but from the moment some unknown people enter the scene they will step aside and observe first... :D (Crazy I am an ESFP and usually I have a problem introducing myself correctly or my description of myself is off when suddenly asked. But that's because we tend to not label anything unnecessary, because we like to keep the options open, and it might change depending on the situation.)
I relate to this. Even though I cope well with being the centre of attention, it's more to entertain people than it is to talk about myself. Thanks for these thoughts!
What ppl misunderstand about esfps is that despite our fun and “silly” persona we are actually really determined and ambitious when we put our mind to something. We might decide what we want to do later than the others but when we do we definitely put a lot of energy into it. Like my best friend is an INTJ i think and she knew what she wanted to be a doctor since kindergarten. And now that she has to study for medicine college (we in last year of highschool now) she constantly procrastinates she constantly bitches around and complains bcuz it’s a lot. While i only decided i wanna be an architect and interior designer last year and i put on hours of hard work to get accepted into college. And i know many ESFP follows in my school who when we want something we serious about
The thing is i’ve always been pretty genuine in my friendships maybe too much and did got played a lot and taken advantage of and i kind of became way more reserved. Maybe too reserved. Like i started being into MBTI as free therapy
Can i be ESFP if i am painfully shy? I do enjoy socializing but i feel like i bore people and i think people hate me. Inferior Ni:-paranoia. It’s also that i was bullied in elementary. I’m 16 and i do volunteering as i Look for opportunities to make friends
For sure! Being young is definitely a factor to consider. I was also shy in high school. Don't worry, as you grow, you will emerge confident and more sure of yourself/your environments. Jumping on the MBTI train so young will bode well for you. :)
my boyfriend is esfp.... he is very emotive hs face luks cute no one cn help bt lov hom hs eyes are very innocent to luk at he is naughty playful like a child
im a cold heartless bitch in certain ways. and ive been dating an esfp recently who has been melting my frozen heart. he is also a pisces sun leo moon, love and passion surgically removing the stick up my ass.
I am an INTP and i had an ESFP roommate in College. We stayed together for ten months but we stopped talking in the last month and i had to move out. I think an INTP will find it extremely hard to relate to an ESFP unless the ESFP is very mature. I have never interacted with another ESFP so i am sure some of them are nice people. I know Extroverted sensing is my seventh function meaning i am basically blind to it yet it is their first function. Also introverted thinking is ESFP'S seventh or eighth function but it is my first function so it is easy to see why we couldn't understand each other.
I'm an INTP and one of my best friends is an ESFP and so is my mother. It's a challenging pairing to be sure and I had a very volatile and confrontational relationship with one in high school but it's also very rewarding when it works. My friend and I have similar interests but (as you said) because one's blindspot is the other's dominant- it can make for some interesting conversations because we have completely different insights on the same hobby/interest. Her lack of Ti does drive me up the wall though as I'm sure my poor Se does for her.
Assertive INFPs love it when ENFJs have thought about a topic, I have “installed” a raspberry ripple with white chocolate hot chocolate plus notepad with Hufflepuff pen 😉
Hey Meghan i have a question thats unrelated to the video so sorry about that. So I am an Istp which means as you know I have Ti as my dominant function. But i dont understand how i use it. I am much more aware of my Se and even Ni than my Ti. Even with Fe I am always aware if I am actually using it cause it causes me stress most of the time. So my question is, is it common to not understand your dominant function and how you use it? I am fairly certain I am a Ti dom btw so its not that I am typed wrong.
Sevil Dogan I’m not her obviously, but I think it’s harder for us to conceptualize our dominant function because we’re so deeply steeped in it. It’s harder to recognize that it may be different from how other people experience things. As for Ti, it’s usually used to give everything a logical consistency
Julie Ogden thank you for your response. That makes a lot of sense. So would that mean Ti is concerned with logical consistency within itself as a person rather than the outside world like Te?

I'm an ESFP too and I relate! Fascinating... something to think on for sure!
The way I view life is that everyone is in their own lane. We each go at our own pace and do things in our own time when it's the right time.
Im also an ESFP and i do the same thing and i dont like it when others normalize amazing and fantastic qualities!
Idk if I'm esfp but to me envy is about who is it directed to. If it's my friends i would get fascinated by their skills and compliment about it but whenever it's acquaintances or strangers, i just can't help it

My favorite ESFP is Dory from Nemo.
“Hey, Mr. Grumpy Gills… When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming.”
All of this resonates with me! I love how you talked about if we love someone or someone touched our lives once they forever hold a place in our hearts. That couldn’t be more true! This was accurate! Thanks for seeing so many positives in ESFPs!

I can't recall ever feeling bad around an ESFP. They are cheering like no one else =)
Aayyee ESFPS🔥!!😂 I’ve been binge watching ESFP videos and I am very biased✌️.
Why did this almost make me cry? 😢 this was so beautiful great personal description of our personality type.
Thank you for this video. Not many poeple see or understand this part of the ESFP. We really do love to see people living up to their true potential. 100% true. I am an ESFP! Love & aceptance is everything and i have so many long distance friends where we just pick up where we left off. Love this 😍

ESFPs are sweet and sincere ppl in my experience! They may look bitchy but they're v authentic to ppl.
That is so awesome about your ESFP friend throwing that party and having people donate to the humanitarian charities. I LOVE that! Cool chick!

ESFP's from your description sound pretty awesome.
we are 🥳
Mia the Cadrona definitely 😎
I have some ESFP friends in church. They are nice people and are easy to talk to.

not a 9-5 slave anymore, enfj are good at that. I try to copy them
I'm an ENFP in love with an ESFP and oh boy 😂

It's the fi that makes her empathetic hence mistaken for intuitives.
