- Today I'm sharing with you all my Yves Rocher Perfume haul which includes Cuir de nuit, Nouveau Genre, and Sable Fauve. Which one might be for you and do I find any dupes for other fragrances out there?

Yves Rocher is a brand I honestly overlook most of the time. A few months ago I started eyeing some of their perfumes and decided to get them once they went on sale. Cuir de nuit features notes of vanilla, cacao, pink pepper, and coffee fragrance; Nouveau genre is a patchouli and Tonka bean perfume; and the beautiful Sable fauve has notes of benzoin, Tonka bean, and Spanish labdanum. These are my first impressions and these were all blind buys.

Thanks for the thorough review! I just got Cuir de Nuit. It doesn't smell anything like leather, but it's a boozy, spicy vanilla on me. As for Sable Fauve, it immediately reminded me of my mum's Dior Dune. Have to do a side-by-side like you do, but it has that same warm, dry vibe.
Also, I love how you pronounce the French names. No surprise, you're Canadian 😊

Gosh, I haven't smelled Dune since I smelled it in stores over a decade ago - I need to go back because I have NO recollection as to what it smells like or what I would think of it now - interesting that Sable Fauve reminded you of it! And yeah, totally agree about cuir de nut - warm spicy vanilla 🥰

Hi Charlotte. I appreciate rhis video. One of my most complimented fragrances is Comme Une Evidence, by Yves Rocher. I don't wear it much anymore, but first wore it some 20 years ago and loved it.

I loved the cuir de nuit when I was in Italy, but in UK it's impossible to buy it😭 i searched everywhere :c
you’re lucky♡ it’s a cheap perfume (in Italy it costs 40 euros idk in Usa how much it costs) but so good and rare that it kinda reminds me something luxurious😍

Hi! I have not, no, but it seems to have a very devoted following and it looks much more chocolatey - have you? I think it's hard to beat out Angel Muse (So Good) but I would be interested in hearing your thought on Nouveau Genre. 😁

What is it about Yves rocher? It's something I only look at when I'm on holiday in mainland Europe when I can go in store. I think you can buy online here but that's it.

Seriously, I don’t know! I wasn’t sure either how little or much the world was acquainted with Yves Rocher. I guess it’s the same in Europe! YR reminds me of mail in catalogs and my childhood if I’m honest, haha, which is why I’ve overlooked them a lot...

I love novueau genre maybe because on my skin it smells like leather which i love. It sure could last longer on my skin but barely any perfumes last on me longerbthan for an hour
I totally know what you mean by leather! You're right! 👌🏼 And yes, same - unless I layer with moisturiser I don't get more than a couple of hours on my skin with most fragrances either. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

How is the lasting power on the Cuir de Nuit?
I would say it's average (3-4 hours on skin), which I think is very decent for the price. ☺️
@@CharlotteRossx thank you! Yeah I would assume it would be around there or less. That's why I order atomizers from Amazon so I can reapply if needed!

I have Nouveau Genre and the moment I smelled it, I immediately ordered a bottle as I hear that this scent will be discontinued soon.
Which is your favourite? I am thinking to try another Yves Rocher perfume. What would you recommend?
Thank you, Nadia! I think of these ones, Sables Fauve is my favourite, but there are so many others I see now that I haven't tried that look lovely as well! If you like woody fragrances, the newer Voile D'ocre looks like a nice sandalwood perfume. ❤️
@@CharlotteRossx Thank you for your reply. I was skeptical about Yves Rocher perfumes before. This Nouveau Genre was a big surprise to me, it smelled simple but complex at the same time, very modern, and even a bit niche... And I thought I hated patchouli all my life before I fell in love with Nouveau Genre. I am going to order another one of Yves Rocher without testing the scent, as where I live now, there are no YR shops... sort of choosing between the other two from your video :)
@@nadiiamishchenko7413 I do think Yves Rocher tend to fall under the radar for some reason. I don't know if it's because of all the mail-in catalogs I remember in the 90's lol but for some reason I didn't have high expectations either. If you really like Nouveau Genre, you might like Cuir de Nuit too. 😉

I have a VERY moderate collection and I can't believe how GOOD nouveau genre smells...It's an absolute STEAL. I want to buy another one from this house but don't know which.
Thanks for sharing, Alfredo! I agree, it's such a great value and I'm glad you're enjoying it. 🥰 You might like Cuir de nuit from this line as well. Autour de Minuit looks like a great patchouli scent as well but I have yet to try it.
@Charlotte Ross Thank you so much for your response @Charlotte Ross! Everytime I put my nose to that perfume, I get all kinds of happy feelings. It's such a gorgeous and underrated scent!
I'll add Cuir de Nuit and Autour de Minuit to my wish list next week. I already have Amouage's Journey Man and Nishane's Anis in it.
And yes, Patchouli is a funny scent. I definitely don't care (yet) for Jovoy's Psychedelique Patchouli but I LOVE IT in Nouveau Genre. The differences are vast.
