    Awesome fish!! Glad to see other people fly fishing for bass!! Also if you havent heard of the double haul technique it could help you shoot those big flies and heavier lines without putting as much arm effort into the cast!

    They were eating that Zonker on the slow fall like a Senko. Both big bites you had paused and didn't really know the fish was on. Came over and scooped it!! Congrats on the fly rod PB bass. Big Bass on the fly give you a new respect for their fight.

      Indeed, thanks Adam! Yeah that fly sinks very slow and has great action when twitched. Going for a 7+ now

    Nice! Looks like a lot of fun, especially when the wind was settled. More ideal for casting for sure. Can I ask what fly line specifically you’re running?

    Congratulations on the PB. Some unsolicited advice... I think you'd catch more fish if you work on not hitting the water on your forward cast or when you do hit the water, just lay it down and fish it.

    I'm excited to start learning how to fly fish. My local fly fishing shop said this would be overkill but I'm getting a 9ft 12wt. I'm gonna use it to get big bass out.

    • @SlabDynasty
      @SlabDynasty  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a hefty rod but it will allow you to throw massive flies which may be great for targeting bass. Let us know how it goes.

      TFO makes great rods at good prices. As far as size depends on what you’re fishing for.

    When fly fishing do you have to use a fly?

    • @SlabDynasty
      @SlabDynasty  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. There are plenty of “baits” you can use that wouldn’t technically be considered flies. A streamer is a great example. Subsurface baitfish imitation. You also have poppers for topwater, weighted craws, etc.
