+Trenton Schmale Have you read the book "Primal Prescription: surviving the 'sick care' sinkhole" ? It's written by Robert P Murphy PhD and Doug McGuff MD.
+Pdrum2 I have not, although I heard about it on the Tom Woods show when he interviewed Robert Murphy or Dr. McGuff. I don't recall who it was. It definitely sounds like an interesting book.
I've paid cash for health care and never had insurance with two accident prone children. Three ER visits and lots of normal visits later and I've saved almost 62k with bills payed. Pay for your doctor visits with your own money. Insurance should be saved for actual emergencies! like car insurance......
Many civilizations have collapsed because the cost benefit reward became negative. In many european countries not enough people study medicine because of this bureaucratic control over medicine and its pricing to doctors
Anyone see a trend to bringing back the much more direct residency programs like the kind that Dr. Ron Paul got to go through after medical school? Did Dr. Paul have to go through the AMA "match" system to interview with the physician who trained him? Any residency programs that exist outside of the AMA cartel?
Its funny when you tell them you pay cash. They look at you like you're dumb. They can't even quote a price. They go about trying to answer that before they think about your next medical step in mind. Its a joke and they think its a never ending cash grab without questions! Its a joke! Pay cash! Ask them why that pill cost 86 bucks!
Maybe because health can easily be monopolized (even in free market),.... This thing might be the only thing where it maybe better to be under some structure,.. even more than police,..
Because health is natural monopoly,.. You pay what you need to pay to be healthy,.. European system does not work perfectly,.. because it really is socialized more or less,.. but those corporate thing in US does not seam to work either,..10 times more expensive,.. since it people weren't forced into it,.. There is something really wrong either way
brscic You basically just said it's a natural monopoly because it is a natural monopoly. I'm asking WHY you think health is a natural monopoly _"You pay what you need to pay to be healthy"_ And you pay what you need to eat and to buy clothing and for transportation. This has nothing to do with being a natural monopoly. _"but those corporate thing in US does not seam to work either"_ The U.S. system is a government created system which has nothing to do with a free market. Even before the ACA (Obamacare) direct government spending accounted for about 50% of all health care spending. Of the remainder nearly 90% involved third party payers (mainly employer provided insurance) which mainly exist due to government policies.
Being a medical student interested in austrian economics, it was great to hear Dr. Accad talk. I will have to check out his website now!

Save your money! Buy catastrophic health insurance and pay cash for check up visits and normal injury
A true single payer system You pay for what you want.
Free markets are our only salvation. DECENTRALIZATION, I.E., PEACEFUL SECESSION WILL FULFILL THIS PROMISE.
Consolidate and control.
You can ,I do. Look around.
