I purchased a hotbin a couple of years ago and it has created a lot compost for me. I even go around all the neighbours collecting their grass cuttings to keep feeding the hotbin. Temperatures easily get up to 60 degrees celsius on warm days and even in winter it stays over 20 degrees (although I just learnt about putting the hot water bottle in, so that should make it even better during winter). It took a bit of practice to mix a good ratio of green and brown waste and I probably used too many wood chips at first (it doesnt take many). I regularly throw in any food waste, grass cuttings, unwanted plants & weeds and they all compost in a matter of weeks (sometimes less). Thanks for a great invention.
Thanks i was watching this and my neighbour came in and we watched this together now our whole village has watched this video and they all appreciate the hot bin composter 🥇
Was a bit surprised that you didn’t mention putting twigs at the bottom when setting up and also no mention of putting card/paper or woodchips, this is totally different from the HOTBIN website!
Can you make a decent video taking a nice amount of compost out, considering buying one but need more convincing, does uncomposted drop down when you have taken out a bucket or two?
HOTBIN has been working with Garden Bargains as a partner for 12 months (they are now part of Ideal Shopping Channel). We have no issues with numerous sales. I doubt we'll ever need it but just in case - if a customer is unhappy with a HOTBIN via Garden Bargains please feel free to contact HOTBIN direct - we aim to have all customers satisfied.
do not purchase anything from garden bargains they will send you items that did not match what you ordered, then they will kindly tell you that tYOU have to pay for the cost of sending back the items they sent you that you did not ask for....stay well clear....nothing but thieves
Really nice! is it all made from styrofoam of there is a layer of PE in between the compost and foam? (Answer : Expansed PP) - And could'nt the heat could melt the foam, or..? Cause i heard already about over-heating posssibility of hot compost..* -How long will last the bin in the elements and composting process ? Thanks for sharing ! Im currently trying to build my own compost 'stove' to heat my house : )

This video is seven years old. I suspect they have streamlined instructions based on feedback👍
Are you still involved in the company that makes these?
