I am an American reactor who normally reacts to hip-hop and metal music had this artist requested to me soo I decided to check him out! This song was performed on some kind of talent show I believe and his performance was out of this world! I am soo surprised I never heard this artists name being from America! What a crazy amazing voice that can reach notes I dindnt know existed! He would have won if it was any American talent show! I was soo impressed I hope my subs let me know what your favorite song by Dimash is!

Hi, I'm from Coventry in England. This was from 2017, he was 22 then. It's a Chinese show called I Am A Singer. It's not a talent contest as such, more of a competition for established award winning singers. Dimash was bought in as wild card entry. Before this performance, he was a complete unknown in China. This was the very first performance of that season. He didn't win, he came second because the rules of the competition precluded anyone outside of China from winning. This was changed the following year when Jessie J from the UK competed and won. Little heads up, don't react to anything from a US show called The Worlds Best, because Dimash's fans hate that show because of how they treated him and lied to him, basically they told him he wouldn't be competing directly against children, which is against his culture and personal views, but it turned out he was, He would be competing against children in the final or semi-final, I can't remember which, he had no option but to withdraw from the competition.
He 26 now, is 6'3" , he's been training since he was about four, has two Bachelors Degrees in music, has just gained his Masters with 100% and is going on to do his Doctorate in music. He performs in about 12 different languages and speaks fluent Kazak, Russian, and now also very good English, and is learning Mandarin Chinese.

Thanks for the very entertaining reaction. Dimash is from Kazakhstan. Central Asia. Used to be one of the Republics of the old Soviet Union. This show is called "I Am a Singer" from China. It is a competition show for professional Chinese singers. Dimash was invited as a wild card contestant in 2017. He was 22 at the time. He just turned 26 in May. Dimash is "classically trained" in Opera. He started training at the age of 5. His Mother is a professional Opera singer. His Dad is a singer and record producer. He has multiple music degrees and just received his Masters in Music. He was accepted in an Opera company in his home country, but wanted to expand his musical options. So he became a Pop singer, but still uses his 6+ octave range in his music. He can sing every genre, from Rap to Opera, to Showtunes, to Pop, Ect. He has many videos out there to showcase his talents. If you continue to react to Dimash, try to avoid "The Worlds Greatest" TV show. They cut up the songs on the show and you will not get the best versions there. Thanks again for you efforts.

Dimash was completely unknown when he sang this song in the Chinese show "The Singer" 2017. The following morning he needed security guards for the rest of the series as he'd had 600 Million hits on Weibo the Chinese Instagram. Now 3 years later he is a Megastar in China, Kazakhstan and Russia. Last December he sold out the Barclays Center in New York 19,000 people flew in from all over the world (and the USA) to see him. I really think you should react next to "Screaming" Idol Hits, or maybe the song he wrote as a tribute to his hero Michael Jackson "Give me your love." Since you're American try his Barclays Center concert version it's on his own untube channel. Glad you found Dimash. Believe it or not, I see a lot of metalheads fall in love with Dimash. He is considered one of the best vocalists in the world. This was from 2017. You can imagine he's only improved since then, but how can you improve on that? LOL. Dimash has a way of internalizing a song to understand the lyrics and be able to tell a story with his voice and emotions. He's honestly said he doesn't really know how big his range is (it's almost 7 octaves by now), but he wants people to know he doesn't sing high notes to show off. He uses them as a way to express his feelings. Looking forward to more!

Dimash is the best in the world hands down. No one on earth like him. Please continue with Dimash by reacting to Sinful Passion with English subtitles. Since he sings in so many languages including English you are in for a very wide variety. By the way.. Dimash can go much lower and much higher. You are correct, he is mesmerizing. He gave a sold out concert in New York in December at the Barclay Center and I had to remind myself to breath. Also, based on the type of music you enjoy... you would love Hua Chenyu of China. I actually love his style of clothing. He models some very sharp looking suites in pictures of seen.
As far as his performance in US he actually went to the show i think was called "The world best singer" and after performing this song and some others later in the show he found out they had him compete with children which was against his culture and agreement so he requested to leave the show and that was when one of the judges (RuPaul) got very rude and disrespectful with him and told him how dare he comes to the show and waist their time. I don't think I've ever seen Dimash so heart broken before and after that stupid show. But he did have a concert in NY back in December which was awesome from watching the videos of it. Btw, he calls his fans DEARS.

I suggest her performance of either 'bridge over troubled water' or 'lean on me', both from the show 'immortal songs 2' & are in english rather than korean obviously. Not only does she perform but she is also responsible for the arrangements of all songs she performs. BTW, the guy that you noticed crying in this vid is actually Dimash's father. S.O.S,although very impressive,is only a glimpse of what he is capable of. Others you should check out are 'ogni pietra', 'sinful passion', 'opera 2', 'confessa & the Diva dance' or 'the diva dance' on its own (the diva dance is the electronically aided song by the blue alien woman in the movie 'the 5th element') or 'love is love is like a dream'. By the way, this competition, Singer 2017, is nothing like AGT. It’s not for beginners. It’s for seasoned singers with a minimum of one music award under their belt. Organized by and streamed over Hunan TV in China. All the other contestants were Chinese, from not only China but also Taiwan, HongKong, Singapore, Canada, etc. Dimash was the only non-Chinese and therefore a total unknown. That is why the audience gave him a loud encouragement at the beginning. Thrown in as a wild card, and practically no fans in China (only around a thousand followers in his Weibo account). After this performance of S.O.S., that changed and his followers shot up to 2.4 million literally overnight. Dimash didn’t win technically (took second place) but he did so realistically when his career took off like a shooting star.
The clothes by the way, are by a French designer.

I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his viewers worldwide especially the young will learn something from his optimistic views in pursuing his professional fields to the optimum level, his confidence, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and to his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.

Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 20 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proves it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concerns whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.

SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song: I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG: The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania, and was originally sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. That is why this song is sad, mention in some of the lyrics…A soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress. .
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discern well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity or a means of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with great humility and discernment.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” Saint Paul reminded us that “our present sufferings are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it in reality and personally, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and experience suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but it is part of the reality of our human lives now.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life, if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Our lives are measured by time, as with all other living beings on earth. Since it is unknown to all of us, the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times, otherwise we are being caught by surprise of not being ready when God comes to take us to be with Him forever in our eternal home in bliss.
