As someone who has watched Twitch since it beginning. It’s not going anywhere. These problems have existed for as long as I can remember. They are not new. The user crash is the after affects of the user surge in 2020 from Covid. Layoffs happened because mass hiring happened in 2020 and 2021 to deal with the surge. That’s no longer needed. We should be seeing a correction to 2019. Nothing concerning so far. All the new people in 2020 just going through what everyone on twitch went through like 8 years ago.
I don't think it is that untouchable considering other seen as untouchable can easily fail. I think calling something "unbeatable" just means when it gets beat, it gets beat hard. Blockbuster for example was talked about for a while and is now known as an example in business talk to day. Also shit like netflix who were once untouchable but now have companies like disney+, hulu, amazon prime ect clawing at there neck. Netflix now seems desperate with there dumb merch ideas and not letting people share passwords. I think twitch will have to pick up there game since yt streaming rn just seems better cos they both 55% of the profits but now instead of needing a vods channel you can just go to their past streams or if you click on their channel you might see they're streaming. Also yt has pretty nice features like the ability to fast forward or skip back. Rn the only thing I can see twitch having above TH-cam STREAMING is the idea that Twitch is bigger then TH-cam STREAMING but if youtube can absorb TH-cam STREAMING into just TH-cam then twitch doesn't even have that.

as someone who’s been using twitch since like 2012 (yeah I’m a loser I know 😭) it’s interesting to see this newer wave of viewers go through the same shit a million other people already have on the site. Like, Kai isn’t the first massive streamer that twitch didn’t give a fuck about. He’s not even the first “biggest streamer on the platform” that they didn’t give a fuck about. The “W/L community” isn’t the first “new” community twitch has been reluctant to embrace, and they won’t be the last. Bruce isn’t the first dude getting banned for breaking rules that shouldn’t be rules in the first place, and yeah, he won’t be the last.
I just say all of this to say, twitch probably has the most users it’s ever had due to the wave that’s joined these past few years, but all of the problems these people are pointing out are not new. Twitch is not a perfect site, in fact a lot of the times it sucks, but it was here way before the “W/L community” and it’ll be here long after they stop caring and leave. If twitch dies it will be because Amazon finally realized all twitch does is bleed money and shuts it down, not because kick or even TH-cam becomes more popular

Ofc twitch hasn’t been perfect but is also about the competitors who are growing and 8 years ago there wasn’t any other threat but now is different and if twitch doesn’t change and stays like how it is because is nothing “new” is going to die out soon
@@mrlonely5324 if any site kills twitch it will be youtube. kick just does not have the staying power. kick leans too hard on it's broad and loose TOS, which will prove to be a nightmare for advertisers. the only people going to a site with "no rules" are people who are saying or doing awful shit. i guarantee that in two years, kick will either have the exact same rules and restrictions twitch does, or it will be an alt right safe haven.
as for youtube, the company is just far too large and bloated for them to make any progress on the streaming side of things at a reasonable pace. youtube, despite being infinitely larger than twitch and having deeper pockets, is ALWAYS two steps behind on features and functionality when it comes to streaming. unfortunately, twitch has no real competition unless youtube makes a major shift to livestreaming, which they wont

The company is on a declining phase, but I think it won't be long until some new good long term improvements come, it is inevitable condering how big Twitch is. Maybe lay off some employees, create something similar to YT Premium as an alternative if they cancel prime subs. That's if they do it quick enough before the competition gets too good.
