A MUST-WATCH VIDEO: Just before #hamas carried out its merciless massacre and kidnapping of innocent civilians in southern Israel on October 7th, an Israeli journalist traveled to Europe to hear from young Gazans who had fled the unbearable reality of Hamas rule.

As an Iranian, let me tell you: Iranian people are upset. Our people are suffering from the lack of human rights, bad economic situation and we see the money of our country bleed out towards terrorist groups such as Hamas and Hisbollah. My father is a former combat officer in the IDF
When he retired he used to go to Palestinian villages once in a while and support them with some charity money that he collected from friends and community.
As a teenager I asked him “ why are you doing it? This people hate us and they will kill is if they can “
He said that “we have to believe that peace is possible one day”
I hope that one day the voice of whom looking for real peace will be heard and the Hamas movement and his ideas will be removed from the world.
Israelis compassionate nature is their best and worst quality. I hope the world can see how reasonable Israel has been all these years trying to sit down with Gaza leaders and sign a peace agreement.
my Ancle who is also a former combat officer in IDF, volunteers in driving sick Palestinians children to treatments in hospitals in Israel. Once a week he goes to the boarder in the west bank, together with many other drivers. Each takes a mother and her child or baby (usually with cancer or kidney failure) to treatment. He finds this activity very important. He was very optimistic about the good in all people. People do not know Israel gives these treatments, and people like him help. Sadly, one volunteer driver is even kidnapped in Gaza.

@@leahdean1761 Well there was a popular case here were a mother from Gaza was saved by Israeli doctors for her cancer and she gave an interview where she says that she couldn't believe that Israel is could be such kind and thoughtful and then in the end of the interview they asked her if she would still like Israel to exist, and she said that she would even send her own son to die as a Shahid in the name of Jerusalem.. Only few could let the hate go since it's implemented from birth. Sad reality guys

As an Israeli, I have always dreamed of, and wanted peace. I yearned for normalization with the Palestinians, to freely eat hummus in Gaza or Bethlehem, to travel the alleys of Nablus, or chill on the Gazan coast. I have even fantasized about a united federation, formed by Israel and Palestine, working together to turn the entire region into a paradise for both people. We call Arabs our cousins, as we are both the children of Abraham. I was willing to return to the 1967 borders, and even give east Jerusalem as a capital for the Arabs. But the more this conflict rages on, the more I learn about Islam, the more I hear and listen to what the majority of the Palestinians are saying, the more I realize this is nothing but a delusional fantasy, and after October the 7th, I'm done entertaining such notions. The vast majority of Palestinian Arabs refuse to recognize the existence of a Jewish state in the land, they see any land controlled by Jews as occupied, and wish to see an end to the state of Israel. For them, Ceasefires and peace negotiations are nothing short of breathing space to regroup and prepare for the next stage of liberating more land. You can hear it and see it from the catchy slogan being shouted from the throats of all the protestors the world over- "From the River to the sea, Palestine will be free". I love my country, I love my people, and I love the land of Israel; my great grandfather dried the swamps and built Kfar Vitkin, my grandfathers, my father, and myself have fought for it and lost friends; this will always be my home, and as much as I yearn for peace with my neighbors, I am not willing to commit national suicide.

This is so touching. Most of my life I was on left and unconsciously absorbed their version of the story, beforr I knew it, I was regurgitating ready-made phrases about Palestine while ignoring the true reality of history and of life in that region. Now I resent all leftist media for its incorrect depiction of reality. Most stories about Gaza try to manipulate you into crying for those poor dead children and demand a ceasefire and blame Israel for everything. But we need to go beyond these oversimplified narratives that do nothing but alienate us by placing them into opposite factions, where each factions dehumanizes the other faction. I really care about ALL lives. But in order to put an end to the endless cycle of violence and mysery, we need to have the courage to see the truth, especially when it's inconvenient, when it doesn't align with our narratives. We need to be able to cope with nuances and contradictions, and have an open heart for ALL people. We need to support those who truly want peace and demonstrably work for it. I'm tired of lies and deceit and violent slogans. We need to stand up against ignorance and hatred.
I had the same feeling as you had. Initially I symphatized with the palestinans, then as i longed to understand the conflict, i discovered that the palestinian narrative is full of lies. Then i almost resented the palestinian people too for their lies and propaganda, and their profound hatred for jews, which lead them to total depravity.
But then I thought they were just victimised by their own goverment, taught to hate the jews early on and believed a twisted version of history. All these factors seem drag the palestinians towards this conflict.
I stand with Israel , but i also pray for the Palestinians. They also deserve to live under their own goverment that really cares for them. I pray that they would be free from hamas' tyranny, and be able to live and enjoy their lives.
Were you paying attention at all? These people, Palestinians from Gaza, talked of how many of their friends and family don't want Hamas, are afraid of Hamas, but they go along with or are silent to Hamas because Hamas will kill them. They talked of a peaceful protest of Palestinians who were gunned down! Sounds like you are only listening to the one anecdote that some Palestinians support Hamas' leadership and extrapolating from that, that all of them do.
I watched an undercover video of a Jewish school and a 9 year old boy was asked, 'what would you do if you met an Arab boy'. His reply was that he would kill him....and the teacher and another adult in the room both smiled and chuckled. Jewish kids are being taught to hate and want to kill Palestinians too.
And frankly, if a government treated you like the Israeli government and the IDF do, you would hate them too. They bulldoze houses, prevent labouring women from getting through check points so that their newborns sometimes die, shoot children or lock them up in military prisons, invade their homes in the middle of the night and will camp there for a week while they do recon.......what part of that picture sounds like something you could bear to live with? @@maureen0610

Right now, and for decades, I realise that the leftist media, which accounts for the majority of the MSM, are not helping at all, they're just feeling ignorance and hatred because they have a strong political ideology behind it... In reality, they don't really care. Not to say they're completely heartless, bit in my experience too, the moment you take a political stance, you alienate and dehumanize the other side. As an Israeli woman who has dreamed of peace with all our neighbours my whole life thank you for recognizing that we also deserve to live in peace and security. We realized that Hamas can take power in the west bank and execute a massacre which could be much bigger then October 7th. I hope the Palestinians will find a way to give power to moderate parties instead of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

Apparently, there was a survey conducted by an organization called Arab Barometer, run by the University of Michigan (if I'm not mistaken), that ended on October 6th.
The survey, which had a 5% percentage error, concluded that up to a day before the October 7th atrocities, 67% of Gazans lacked trust in Hamas.
As one of the men in this video said, during a war, support for Hamas increases, so probably that number will be smaller now.

When I studied abroad years ago I had a Palestinian classmate, a beautiful young woman from Ramallah. I thought finally meeting a Palestinian was an amazing opportunity and went out of my way to befriend her.
Her family were well-off, even had American passports. She had spent several summers in an American summer camp where Arab and Jewish children went to get to know each other. She told me that as a result of these activities her teachers in high school in Ramallah had disqualified her as a candidate for the student council president election because she was "normalizing the occupation". One day, a good friend of hers was shot by an Israeli Border Guard... A shitty sad story - wrong place wrong time and an itchy trigger finger. She was conflicted about Israel, to say the least. I once spent five hours just taking her through my entire picture album from my service time to show her what the IDF is really like from inside.
We talked about politics for months - the Knife Intifada was in full swing back home at the time. Nothing I said helped - she still saw pulling out a knife at a checkpoint and stabbing someone as moral. Eventually we fell out over it and stopped talking.
It's a harsh reality. Maybe one day it'll be safe to go to Ramallah and catch up with her again.

i have been saying i live in usa orthodox jew there is a huge Palestinian community on the border of ours. they used to shop in our markets for kosher while their community was too small to support thesir own stores (they accept our kashrus as halal). we have never had an incident. i believe those who arent with hamas or the 15 other terrorist orgs inthe neighborhood left long ago for a better life elsewhere.

WOW i love this explanation it's really relatable for me. im in the us, i grew up christian, but for some reason my parents told me later that I went to a jewish pre-school, so i became very close with many jewish people. love them to this day, as well as my arab friends. we actually coexist in my specific community extremely well - we were torn by the news and had a hard time understanding what this was even about, yet we don't stop having conversations. One of the worst things in a war is that it can simply divide people just because of which side they stand. This video has renewed my hope. It's very sad that all the civilians get lumped together. Its unfortunately so difficult to draw a line in the sand on the spectrum between 'Hamas leader' and 'civilian', and even harder to figure out who is actually bought into Hamas ideology vs brainwashed.

I happen to be a Catholic from South-East Asia and I'm genuinely curious if you really mean what you said. Don't you think that blaming a religion for a plight in the Middle-East, instead of the groups of people who misconstrue the teachings of their religion or rather use their religion as a guise for committing atrocities, is a tad too extreme? Don't get me wrong, people like me (infidels) have been persecuted since ancient times but the ideology of "an eye for an eye" and the reciprocation of violence doesn't solve anything.

Hamas and PA use quotes straight from the Qur'an and other religious writings to instigate for the killing of Jews.In fact PA who were supposed to be moderate recently released such a statement .Judaism and Christianity got used to secular states, Islam didn't. Islam is the law, the prosecution , the police, the military , the king and everything that is not Islamic is regarded as useless at best , if not dangerous.This is why Muslims migrate to Western countries and cry to implement Sharia and other crazy ideas.It is not about revenge , it is about knowing who we deal with , what their mentality is , what they stand for and letting them know we won't take it and we won't bow our heads to Islam.It's not about attacking Islamic countries, it's about not allowing Muslims to undermine democracy and human rights with their ideology.
