Speed controller, definitely a negative. also with the controller located below the battery, u cannot use this ebike in wet weathers without good waterproofing made. 36v is made for PCN & flat roads only, Not for climbing slopes.

The Mobot ultra has common problems on the rack and abit easy to fall off..
Maybe installing a food delivery rack will be better? The rack is too small to secure the delivery bag.
@@grabadventures yeah .. common problem after installing food delivery rack on Mobot ultra rack . It could not hold on the weight due to rack is not well built on it.. I get this information from WarehouseSG at woodlands
Thank you for the info. When a rack is bolted on instead of welded usually it tends to be less stronger.

Agree with u on the speed controller. I tried it at the IT show and got confused also. For me the eco drive has the best controller since it's in color everything easy to read.
Ebike manufacturers are restricted by the law. They have to cut corners here and there in order to pass the LTA inspection.

Looks good~ bigger wheel definitely a plus especially when riders have to constantly deal with cornering, and also handle wet ground. Safety first!

The 16" is definitely better than 14". I did not feel that much difference as the frame is lower hence my centre of gravity is stable. However I still prefer 20" due to my size and weight. 😃
Thanks for the review ! Not many e-bike reviewers out there and not many videos on the Mobot Ultra yet, yours will definitely help. To those planning to get, do consider carefully as I would feel bigger wheel e-bikes are always better. But for the Ultra, an upgrade to thicker width tyres like 2.125 inch is recommended to improve stability.

Yes but then it would be above the 20kg weight limit. So it's a grey area.
Definitely the mode setting can be improved. Also the battery keeps cutting off when the speed reaches 25km, resulting in a "jerky" ride. It doesn't give for a pleasant riding experience. Personally, I feel the bike is a bit small for my height at 1.74m
Yep. Every ebike is an individual experience for each rider. It's always best to test ride.
Should try the jalan hikayat slope. Much steeper than the one you tried in the video. Think will need mode 3. You passed by my place😂😂
😆 i was not really familiar with the surrounding areas when i recorded this video. A slope steeper than this? This i got to check out!
I have test ultra and leader both controller look almost same identical but ultra has more power respond time about 1.3 seconds faster than leader
I have not tried Leader but the acceleration on Ultra seems quite fast. Almost as fast as eco drive.
@@grabadventures maybe you should try leader one day it’s very power e-bike. leader has more powerful than eco drive in term of respond time and speed but rest is a same.
Actually I did want to try Leader before the Ultra but for some reason I was unable to find a test unit.

Just curious how often you tune your brakes? I need to tune once a month, very troublesome.
👋🏼. It's about the same for me. I give a general onceover including brakes every month. I usually replace the brake pads every 6 months.

Awesome that u found it useful! Yep. The second incline was the steepest i hv ever encountered. It's even more steep than the infamous bukit panjang-senja hill. 48v is the way to go if your delivery area has slopes.
Haha i have conquered that hill with ease. Anyway for mid 40s man slightly plump, which e bike suitable? What is your recommendation. I see your ebike seems perfect.
I like my ebike very much. It is suits my needs very well. I suggest you try out a few ebikes. Give them a test ride and see which one is most comfortable for you to ride on.

the mode settings might be a dealbreaker especially when you are at mode 2 for some time...and you're not sure if you're going up or down. It might be a safety issue if there are pedestrians, especially kids around you and you need to manoeuvre. Helps also if there is a stopper located inside the frame for the seat post so it doesn't accidentally hit the battery if the clamp gets loose.

I don't have that kind of technical knowledge. But assuming it is doable, i am not sure of it will make the ebike illegal in the eyes of LTA.

what is the current average consumption when travelling at mode 3
It was a just a short ride hence I am not sure om the overall consumption.

Is it recommended to get 16x3 or the stock tyre is fine?
Getting fatter tyres is safer but bear in mind that the tyres need to fit the frame and also yr battery energy will be used up faster due to the wider tyres.
Hi i am planning to get this ultra for food delivery but i m concerned about raining,normal e bike u would cvr the top of the batt but since the batt conector pin is below how should i cvr it,any advice?

the design of the bike connector to the battery will be a problem... especially riding in wet and damp weather... the rear tyre will fling water and road dirt into the area... there will be corrosion and worse short circuit problems in the future
It does seem like an odd design choice. I wonder if there are other ebikes with this type of connectors.
just install a rear full mud guard and all is good

👋🏼 thank you for reaching out. Personally I prefer the jimove mc pro over the ultra due to it's comfort.
The ultra is a good ebike but once u ride fat tyre ebikes it's hard to go back to normal tyres.
However fatter tyres means more energy spent when riding so the battery might not last as long as the ultra.
Best is to try both of them out to see which one fits yr riding style.
