"Foul villain, your so-called mastery of the magical arts pales in comparison to my own power! Now stand still while I stab you with this pointy stick"
Lol " the white mage yep I killed the final boss with a stick" it's like in fallout 4 were the deathclaw can glitch out and get stuck in a hole so you can kill it with a stick " A+start yep I killed the most dangerous monster with a stick" (a+start 20something)
Getting to 50 with only one character is much more easier and quick than you'd think. We get Experience Points multiplied by 4! With a good spot to level up, it's piece of cake! :)
Thanks a lot!!! Sure, nothing is better than the original version of a game or a movie. All of my videos should be made from the originals! And for now, I am concentrating on NES games! ;)
Yes you can! The most interesting thing for me was that I did my whole Black Mage solo game while my best friend was doing the same! We motivated each other and we did it both, each on our side! To get it done, we must focus on stats as I done here with the White Mage. First rough task is to get rid of the pirates. However, it is funny to try and try them or just leveling up a little because we start very near them ehwn we have to start from the last save! Next are Wizards in the Marsh Cave...
Thank you very much!!! Sure, The Solo Thief, Black Mage and White Mage are the three hardest ones to do. I must tell that I had more trouble doing the Black Mage one than the two others. ;)
Yes, I used the north-east spot to train a lot! However, it was more difficult with a White Mage! I don't remember if I used it a lot with this one. Yes, I completed solo games (no class change) with all six characters but the most difficult (for me) was with the Black Mage! ;)
Yes, that's where I trained, but I meant that power-levelling is meant to be done when you are around elfland and have to wake the prince - even if it's in that place you mentioned. Thank you for the information, anyway.
Nice job Hal DanGhor. Now it's confirmed possible. I am doing this challenge on my Channel, and am at the Ice Cave so far. I am at level 24 so far, so I know I got a long way to go. I haven't even come close to beating this game this year, and in fact I just started the Ice Cave this past week for the first time ever. Every step I take is blind, lol. Thankfully AltimaMantoid has a Let's Play of this game, so I can use it to figure out where to go. It's not the enemies, it's the stun, rub, stone, and instant death hits that get me. Good job on this challenge, even though you did this a long time ago, lol.
Thank you my friend! Yeah, this challenge requires patience and sometimes we just got to be lucky, especially with the Rub, Stun, Stone, XXXX, etc. When I first attempted the challenge, I didn't know how tough it would be to get through, so I resetted my game a lot when levelling up my character in order to try to have the best stats possible, Strength, Agility, Intelligence, Vitality and Luck. It's not an obligation to do so, but it helps quite a bit! I even attempted another challenge with the Black Mage in which I would get the baddest stats at every level, especially including having the less HP possible, which meant that I had something like 401 or so HP at level 50, which let me think that I'd need 10000 attempts at the final area in order to have a chance. I just stopped the run, because it would have been crazy LOL. I completed another run with the Black Mage in which I worked on the stats exactly like I did with the White Mage run! Almost no choice with a Black Mage for better chances of success haha! Keep it up and have fun! Please keep me informed of your progress! :)
I figured out a loophole in the beginning of the game. I go to the first Cave with Garland, I have everyone alive, I cast Ruse twice on myself while everyone else " runs ", and while that happens, I attack Garland with the White Mage, making sure not to kill him since everyone else must stay at 0 xp. The rules didn't say I couldn't do that, so it helped me out alot.
MountainD18 Perfect! I am looking forward to have more news when you progress! Yeap, Ice Cave is the biggest challenge before the end imho. Once you get passed it, you can become much stronger and pretty quickly. And if you got any question about the game, no hesitation. The game is part of me now haha! :)
MountainD18 By the way, I am HalDanGhor. (got 2 accounts and just noticed that I was answering to you with my second account haha) There is one thing that I don't get. when you run, everybody is supposed to run. Are you playing the NES version?
I don't remember how many times I tried him with my White Mage. However, I can assure you it was not above my 3rd or 4th tries against him. My strategy was already prepared even the first time I met him. I just had to have enough luck to beat him. Even with the best strategy, we cannot be sure of winning this fight! If Chaos casts Slo2 and it works, it will be really hard to do 2000 damage before he casts Cur4 (HP max) again... What inspired me was the challenge and anticipated fun indeed! ;)
@ThoughtsofHatecraft He He, not really. With a party, if you want to level up fast, you can level up north-east from Pravoka. You have to really go full north, so you can encounter parties of much stronger monsters, such as Giants, ZomBulls, Frost Wolves... :)
ok, first off, good job on the kill. second, how in the world did you make it to Chaos with so many spell slots still?! I'm doing a white mage run myself, and by the time I get to him, I'm bone dry on both cur1-cur3 as well as potions.
The Heal Staff used as an item is the key! Use Defense 2-3 times against monsters that don't do magic like Worms, Earth, Zombie Dragons, even Waters and heal! That's how you'll save your magic and potions! Are you playing on this RetroArch looking for achievements on the retroachievements Internet page?
@@HalDanGhor yeah, there a solo class subset for each class and I've managed to finish all but white mage, white wizard, black mage, and black wizard. My main issue is just lack of any real damage.
@@Xenoriddley I hear you. I completed the challenge on RetroArch not too long ago. That was a long process! I guess that if you completed the Thief, that you have a pretty good understanding of what to do in there. With the White Mage, I always tried to get good stats for each level up, so I'd be able to reach 840 HP max or so with the best amounts of STR, AGI and VIT possible. In the Temple of fiends, I'd use the Mage Staff vs LICH, then the Thor's Hammer vs KARY and KRAKEN. After that, I'd acquire the Masmune and with it easily beat TIAMAT, and then cross fingers for CHAOS not to land his SLO2 on me before I start my attacking sequence, which would start as soon as he would cast CUR4. Having the CUR3 charges for the CHAOS fight has to be part of the strategy, imho. I recommend you to get the Masmune with both Wizards and get out of the Temple of Fiends to save your game, then come back strong with new charges that you'll save since you'll now have the Masmune to open the way! I consider the Thief run to be harder than the White Mage run (at the end), so I know that you can do it! The Black Mage run is the ultimate challenge. White and Black Wizards are much easier! :)
@@HalDanGhor i actually went and snagged the light are for the harm 2 casting for lich. I figured he'd be weaker to that than fire, but I guess its roughly the same either way. With my thief run, I actually got super lucky and managed to Bane chaos to kill him after he slowed me. White mage, not so much luck. I wouldn't be so irritated with my runs if it didn't take so long to get to chaos each time.
@TARDISES We can be successful with any solo character in this game. We only have to be prepared for some hard work. but, for those like me who love challenge, it's funny to do all 6! ;)
I tried to get the most good Stats I could, but I didn't get it perfect. It is a really boring work! However, I am really proud of what I got out of it! ;)
Go and get Chaos with one White Mage alone is a real good challenge! Possible moves available is not the thing we have to care about. We have to care about how stronger monsters are if we compare to our character... They can kill him/her very fast and sometimes easily. ;)
With your white/red mage runs why don't you use the power gauntlet instead of the pro-rings. Chaos doesn't really melee often enough to kill you, and the +40% weapon dmg/10% hits along side of Fast with red, and more cures with white, will give you a bigger window to kill him through Cur4's.
... For the Wizards, trying to get two to fight onstead of 3 or more is the first good thing that can happen. I beat them with Lit2. Sure, we must get lucky in this fight, as well as getting there without being killed by stunning creatures... Once done, Astos is also funny to fight. When his Rub doesn't work, he can be considered as done since our magic skills will destroy him real fast! Next task is beating the Earth Cave. The worst part is to be able to kill the Vampire and get out...
Nicely done, but I have more fun killing Chaos in 1 hit with my B.Belt even when he's only around level 40. I think one time I did something absurd like 4,000 damage to him back in the day. B.Belt was so OP by end game.
I remember that when I got them, they always were only 2 when I beat them with (solo) Thief, Black Mage or White Mage. With Black Mage, if I remember well, I used Lit2 and luck until they fall. ;)
... Yes, get out without being stunned or stoned by some parties of bad monsters! Lich is not so hard to beat. We have to get to him. That's may be the toughest part about him. Just hope he doesn't stun us! Next is the Ice Cave! My god! Even if it is real tough, I like this place, even if it is a real challenge for this kind of solo game! Once it's done, the next thing to do is to equip with the best stuff and levelling up until level 50 with good stats and good HP up! Temple of fiends next! ;)
Yes, but I can explain you why The Solo Thief is easier to do than the Solo Black Mage. At the very end, sure, the Thief doesn't have any Magic to help him fight better. However, his defense and HP are better than what Black Mage has. Defensive magic as Ruse for White Mage is useless since I always use Defense Sword's power for defense for any character. ;)
Heh, if you just think of it as just another random battle, it might give you the psychological edge to win. ;) Oh well, the next game has boss battle music for a small amount of boss fights (I guess because some bosses return as random encounters) [referring to FFII, not FFIV]
Astos can ude RUB, but it doesn't always work! We must wait to get lucky enough to may be avoid it twice! Glad we can save at the entrance of his Castle! White Mage against Astos was an easy task. Wizards in the Marsh Cave was the real challenge. I muted Astos! LOL
I always found it annoying how multi-target spells hit dead characters. The game should have checked if the targets had 0 HP (where "Stone" was defined as having 0 HP), and then just skipped them if it found that HP value.
What's funny about it, is it actually a more impressive video in NES form. Sure the GBA version of the battle with Chaos looks really nice, but he basically sits down for you.

I fought my way, slowly but surely until I get to the hard places to beat. First one is getting past the Marsh Cave. Second would be Astos, but since we can put him to silence, he is easy even if White Mage doesn't hid hard... Lich is not so difficult to beat with a White Mage. We just have to cast Harms on him.
