Thanks for uploading, I have Exactly the same issues on my 2002 facelift model, started as an intermittent problem but has now become permanent, I also have the flashing rear AC dial. I am off to strip out that module now....
Thanks mate. Same here. The rear AC lamp blinks, the only difference is that only front windows work but not the rear. Mirrors areok too. I did not notice only that frequency change bit so i'll check now. For my bad luck these panels are very expensive on e-bay compared to the next generation ml switches which come as low as 40 bucks. I'm considering DIY repair and will let you know if i succeed.
I have a 2002 Ml 2.7 diesel that I have owned for over 7 years. Now the emissions in london will effect the usage of my vehicle but I say to hell with them, I will still use it!
this is an issue that i currently have. On mine this control unit in the middle is under the sunroof of course so when it rains )i have a leak in my sunroof that needs fixed) it shorts out my windows. We had some rain here a while ago and now my windows are stuck, but they are up thank goodness... the only thing is that my side view mirrors are stuck in the folded in position. Thinking about it is just driving me insane.
That TOTALLY could have been repaired! Just remove the broken piece of ribbon cable and and replace it with some individual (very small) wires soldered in at each end...
The first thing that i would do is clean all the food and debris out of the switches before the other switches fail. the second thing would try to solder the ribbons back together before i ordered a new board. If not i would get one from a salvage yard the was not broken and it should work just fine being it is electronic and not mechanical. that circuit board likely controls all the windows, mirrors and the rear ac head. The broken ribbons go to the items that do not work. Tell the Mrs. to vacuum the car out to keep it from repeating the problem
I did see that however my experience is dirt and electrical do not mix well debris can stop switches from completely opening or closing causing draws on the battery and leave circuits open or closed. open circuits can cause other things on a circuit not to work. but i did say it is what i would do, i pay for my repairs and you pay your own repairs and can do what makes you happy.
How about Maxwell Smart's suggestion to repair the pcb? I am pretty handy with the soldering iron, having built hobby electronics, including fabricating pcbs.
Maxwell Smart yes I did for sure but when I took my soldering gun to it it was clear that it would be a "crappy" fix, plus after seeing those cracks I figured there might have been other issues, didn't want to take the chance. If you have good micro soldering equipment and patience/ability, I'm sure it can be done.
hello friend i have the problem of my 270ml cdi 2004 cranking about 2 seconds and it stops without starting 5 to 7 times without starting i have changed the starter motor and changed the ignition antenna i have checked all the fuse boxes i have found All are going well I have changed the battery and without news but when I connect it with cables with another car working it starts directly. now I do not have to think about any reley that is main! do you know if he has any ??? please help ...
You will need to have it scanned first of all. In the meantime check your battery voltage, these cars are very sensitive to that. You can also check and see if you have a auxiliary battery which may also need replacing.
Exactly the same problem with my ML500 2002. Mechanic gave me $750. estimate to fix it. What is the part number you have used A1638206910 or A1638204510? Thanks.

Great ! Video ! Worked great ! With my new replacement!!!!
Without telling us the name of the part, this video goes from being very helpful to practically useless.
It’s called a “window button” it’s normally used to roll up and down the windows the extra electronics don’t change the name it’s still a button

Johnathan Waters totally! Now you can do yours and post a video.
Lmfaooo
Where do you get your parts from , I have a mercedes ml 320 w163 .
So, that cracked ribbon effected the rear window control buttons also??

Bruce Augustine if you watch the video, these newer style switches have a lip that does not allow debris getting inside.

this part also controls the side view mirrors. they are all connected.

great and informative video!
Did you consider just soldering a couple of jumper wires over the cracked ribbon cable?

Ooops, I shoulda read the comments first ahha

Thank you for your reply.
I will check.
What is the name of the pcb? So I know what to order?
The Maven I doubt you can just buy the board, there are used window switch assemblies on eBay. New ones are pricey.
The Maven you could try soldering, maxwell never posted back if he tried it or not. You’d need a micro soldering iron as it’s pretty tight.
Can't get the fucking knob off the shifter. Would've helped it ypu wouldn't have skipped that part.

I believe it was the 6910 but you have to be careful if you have auto folding mirrors and get the one that has that option. Cheers
@@lukec4745 You are great. Thanks for replying so fast!
