I’ve purchased a very ingredient from your old video on what ingredients to use when first starting! I’m so excited and can’t wait to start learning and making products!
Thank you! Ive been looking for a video version of formulating as both reading and hearing helps me learn a lot better- i cant wait to watch ppl do videos on a full formulating and how to prep/ clean the items used prior.
Olivem sounds like a good emulsifier for making cleansers and shaving cremes. I use olivem for cremes, however enter it by recommendation of a HLB calculator. Now I know why it needs to be entered as recommended. The reason I like olivem is because it’s got a bit of substance and it leaves peaks, without needing to use a gum thickener (sticky) which looks expensive. Performs well for mature skin anyway. Cetyl Alcohol is a basic essential, and I like it for when I use humectants such as Hylauronic. Love your work Tara. I’ll be patronising your website.
Do you mind if I ask “ what is a HLB Calculator?” I have never found a fabulous lotion/ cream calculator that you can add your own ingredient choice in!
This is right on time I am looking to make a lotion the body butter that I’ve been using this winter is not moisturizing my skin as much as I would like.
I bought some Glyceral Stearate but it doesn't have the Peg 100 added to it? I'm just not sure how to use it? Will it work by itself or should I add ewax or Stearic acid? For a face cream like what % would I use it at with ewax. Lol sorry I'm just so intimidated
Wowahhhhhh loved your explanation it was easy and very informative series loving this series so much. I'm really excited to see the whole series 🥰🥰🥰. As of now I have doubt about emulsifying wax NF you have mentioned 6+1 what it means can you explain in detail sister I can't get it sister. Kindly help me with the maths . Really great video. You look beautiful ❤️sister ❤️ sending lots of love 🫂!!!
Hello Tara, Why do you say that Btm 50 is not a natural ingredient? I was reading that Btm 50 is a derived from the natural plant oil know as rapeseed oil so I'm confuse is Btm 50 a natural product or not?
if it fits YOUR definition of natural then that’s fine. there is no legal definition of natural so i have nothing to go off of besides what most people think and BTMS 50 isn’t typically acceptable in the “natural community”
please watch my video and your questions will be answered. you always want to check the formulating guidelines to se show much liquid germall plus to use. if you are making a 100gram batch and your liquid germall plus has a suggested usage rate of .1% - .5% then you would use it at .5% so for a 100 gram batch it’s .5 grams
all emulsifiers potentially can, which is just a result from the formula. but olivem 1000 apparently does more often from what i’ve gathered from peoples experience with it.
@@TaraLeee is it normal for BTMS 50 to do that? I would be just afraid if I sold my lotions to customers, they all would think that I'm using cheap ingredients.
