Italy completely exploded in athletics this year. Hoping that their athletes don't get injured and are nice and competitive for the years to come in athletic championships. Thanks for putting yourselves on the map, Italy.

Out athletics movement is improving since a few years and I'm sure it will be better in Paris. The fact is that we "overperformed" in Tokyo and it's really difficult to repeat this insane result, not saying that our athletes didn't deserve their wins, but they all gave their 150%, also Jacobs and the relay team luckily came out after the Bolt era. In my opinion Paris will be our best performance in the athletics, we'll see a great number of finals, top-8s and, hopefully, medals. But 5 golds though... Tokyo will be remembered for ages

The high jumpers, were the moment of these Olympics for me! Can't tell how many times, I've watched the moment, when the Guy from Qatar says "can we have two golds". Then the hand shake, then the Italian guys disbelief and them leap into his competitors arms. Then collapsing to the floor in tears. Meanwhile the Qutar guy is hugging his team and wiping away tears. Epic scenes in a matter of seconds. All after jumping for the lives! Phew I'm out of breath and I'm just writing it! Love love loved it! 🥇🥇❤❤

I've been watching the track world in Italy and I saw this coming as soon as Bolt retired I realized wow a chance , BUT GOLD wow didn't see GOLD in both of the most prestigious events and prior to the games the country was still celebrating the Euros championship!!!!!!

È un peccato che ci abbia detto male in competizione dove di solito sappiamo imporci (sport di squadra come pallavolo o pallanuoto, scherma, sport di tiro). Anche nel nuoto siamo stati sfortunati, visto che i nostri top contender (Paltrinieri e Quadarella) non stavano bene fisicamente. Insomma, senza questi problemi si superava anche il record di ori e non solo quello di medaglie complessive. Comunque gli exploit nell'atletica sono stati così eccezionali da far passare tutto il resto in secondo piano
@@francescomazzei4111 Non essere riusciti a trionfare in quelli sport dove eravamo sempre riusciti a fare bene non vuol dire mica una tragedia. Io parlavo in termini di cifre, con queste quaranta medaglie siamo riusciti anche ad imporci negli sport che in passato erano stati sempre come un tabù alle Olimpiadi.
