Installed the ECS resonator deleted using race ramps. Boy, what a tight squeeze. Took about 45 minutes total because all the wiggling and different sized sockets needed. The finish is good and the sound is about 20-25% louder. I'm happy with the note and would recommend the $149 solution as an affordable option to $1,000-3,000 exhausts floating around out there. I'd love to go Armytrix, but I'll wait a couple years. Nice interim fix this little guy, especially because it's vastly cheaper than the OEM option. DAP also has a version of their own too
Thanks ecs im from NZ my s3 with dsg sounds even better good quality. Without the cutter I just dropped the rear muffler and cut it with the grinder ...mint
Hello from sweden. I really like your videos, you show it calmly so every one can catch up with it. Wish you will take in a seat leon cupra r 2.0 tsi 2011 not alot of videos with this car ( i have one). Best Regards Robin
For all the MK 7 and 7.5 pay special attention to the DFKA, or you will learn the hard way that your exhaust is 2.5" before the resonator and 2.25" after.
just did this on my mk7 golf R. the part is nice, fits perfectly, but honestly, i don't notice much a difference in sound. Maybe if you are absolutely bone stock, you'll notice a difference, but i have an IE intake on my car, which is fairly loud, and because of such, notice only a very negligible difference in exhaust note.
Are the clips done in sport mode, with the exhaust flaps open? I have mine opened up with VCDS, but looking for some more sound, thinking a resonator delete would be the way to go.
We have yet to find anything we don't like about this product. No emission devices are altered with the resonator delete, only the joy of a deeper, louder exhaust note. You'll likely hit the gas more often to hear your exhaust, which could effect your fuel consumption!
how do you think it would sound paired with a muffler delete? Im looking for the loudest setup without going catless, since I dont want to loose warranty, 18 S3 btw
The 2.5L engines sound insanely good with exhaust at least. Of course it's the more expensive option than a delete, but sounds better than the 2.0 with exhaust.
Awesome Vid !!! No brainer, just placed my order for my S3. It's nice to see a customer based company take the time to make this/explain everything. ..give tips/tricks on their products. I don't care about "Dyno/Torq/HP. . .what matters is "Deeper Tone". ECS has several choices, from their brand to OEM Audi/VW. I chose the "OE Audi/VW" for my S3. Free shipping & no Tax which is nice. I have their "Silicone inlet pipe" and the fit/finish/clamps were Super Hi-Quality. Pleasure doing business w/them. -ADR
You would need to drop some serious cash to turn a jetta into a sports car, and at that point it would be more economical to buy a GTI or R. Just let the jetta be a solid comfortable commuter.

with or without New inlet clamp?
THIS is how you film a product video...
Far and away the best aftermarket exhaust sound I’ve heard for that car.
Dude that camera work at the end is amazing. Looks almost CGI movement like

Thanks for sharing your experience!
we asked for sound clips and we got sounds clips. thank you! great vid. i deff want to get one of those exhaust cutter tools.
They’re great, I use mine as my annual tribbing tool.

Nice work sounds miles better mate love the resonator delete install

Nice and clear install video, thanks!!
I love it. Sounds even better on my S3.
I just bought a 2017 Audi s3 face lift. Thinking about getting a resonator delete. Should I?
Could you ever reinstall the resonator and have it function as it did before?
Yes! Just cut it cleanly and properly
For all the MK 7 and 7.5 pay special attention to the DFKA, or you will learn the hard way that your exhaust is 2.5" before the resonator and 2.25" after.
Great vid. Thanx for posting

Was the aftermath with the drive mode in “race” with the baffles open or closed?
Sounds better and weight reduction improvement shedds a bout 4 kg a think on system even better if get turbo cat down pipe delete done to
What do you think about a cutout replacing the resonator at that point. Less rattle when opened up compared to right after the downpipe?
Great video. Very helpful.
How is the drone at 2000 rpm?
I got the CTS from y’all this week and had it pro-installed. Is it normal to have a burning smell after driving?
Correct me if I'm wrong but, most people hoped to hear the dsg fart.
it's a manual
They should come listen to my GTI Clubsport DSG farts! Sounds way better, especially with a resonator delete.. 👍
I know right. Fuckin 6 speed 🙄
Any clips on what it sounds like is S mode?
How come the car is so clean from the underside?
Just go to a exhaust shop and get it done. Won't even be 100$ lol
Yeah I'm a little confused. What's the benefit of paying $149 for this pipe? What makes it so special?
Do you know how to have pop and crackles on a North American spec golf R?
es3502012 custom remap!
catless will get the already stock pops to be way more audible, but yes, custom tune with fuel on deccel will crackle and pop alllll day long
,
That's from DSG and pretty sure it's programmed in. No such sound on the Manual Trans version (I own the manual ver.)
is this also available for audi tts mk3?
Why remove this part it’s from stock ?
Also do removed with the full sport exhaust system ?
Would the 5.5inchs be the same measurement for the OEM delete kit?
will this diy be the same for the OEM s3 delete pipe? in the mk7
forums it mentions to make the cut on the dimple of the stock exhaust pipe??
It should be very similar, but we can only confirm our DIY with our own kit.
Sounds like the valves were closed in the clips?
Nice video...very helpful.
Do you have a resonator delete section like this for the MKII Tiguan w/4Motion?
Hi from Canada can I do that on my tiguan.
will this work with aftermarket down pipes?
It is appropriate for Seat Leon Cupra st 4drive ?
Are the clips done in sport mode, with the exhaust flaps open? I have mine opened up with VCDS, but looking for some more sound, thinking a resonator delete would be the way to go.
Yes, all the sound clips were filmed with the exhaust valves open. For a nice addition of sound, this is a great choice.
Not so much deference but cool modification 👌
does this mod make the car drone at highway speeds/
Would this be similar in sound on an audi a4 b7.
IS there any negatives about deleting it? fuel consumption? Illegal? just curious as I'm wanting mine to be louder

seamas cassidy there's power gain because you are allowing your engine to breather more freely, thus adding more power.
did this bring on any check engine/ engine managment light on? maybe due to the emisions or not
No, the resonator delete is located after the catalytic converter so it should not cause a check engine light.
Tabraiz Saeed
I had the same question!
Only one side is flanged right?
Does this part fit the scirocco R ?
Do you loose any power doing this?
no
Any plans/thoughts to do this for the mk7 GTI?
We're looking into creating exhaust options for the MK7 GTI. Stay tuned!
thank you for this, considering buying form you guys. is there any drone at all? I have a mk7 r - 6 speed manual.
MarcraM82 at sixth gear there isnt much drone at all. I would recommend a res delete from ecs if thats all youre gonna do.
@@theovich7713 thanks so much! If i put it in eco I'm assuming it sounds similar to stock then?
@@MarcraM82 with the stock exhaust and a stage 1 from APR I have had no drone issues at. the Res delete just sounds better imo
@@theovich7713 thanks mate appreciate it
how do you think it would sound paired with a muffler delete? Im looking for the loudest setup without going catless, since I dont want to loose warranty, 18 S3 btw
We haven't tried it out, but it will be louder than just the resonator delete by itself. Check for videos on TH-cam, somebody has probably done it!
wish theyd made something like this for the 2.5L MK5 Jetta
The 2.5L engines sound insanely good with exhaust at least. Of course it's the more expensive option than a delete, but sounds better than the 2.0 with exhaust.
@ecstuning do you have one for the Mk7 GTi?
yea they do
those glasses tho!
safety glasses?
i dont see them on the website.
Safety first! They were sunglasses we sold in limited production. Pete swapped in some clear lenses to use when working in the shop.
they are used to protect his forehead..doh!
Do you have before/after dyno data?
We did not dyno before/after. The biggest difference noticed will be in the sound and tone of the exhaust.
Are you really expecting to feel the difference in power just by doing a resonator delete? C'mon.
Feel maybe. My question was about measuring the difference. People feel all kinds of things. It's a nice video and ECS gave a fair response.

@@es3502012 old comment I know but c'mon be nice
So what's the benefit of paying $149 for this pipe over one that they install at a muffler shop?
Is the resonator an empty box?
Adam Bleech got a honeycomb effect inside the box to reduce noise
how do you achieve lower octave rumble ? Thanx :)
Trish Dilligaf me too I like the sound of a racing super bike
why not to delete rear muffer instead?
SunLoverMan because it’s attached to the exhaust tips therefore being much more costly then resonator delete.
also muffler delete drones
Ordering why didn't I do this first.
Just put resonator delete with aftermarket catted downpipe. Horrible drone. I am putting the OEM resonator again
come out with some stuff for the facelift 1.4 TSI Jettas already lol
You would need to drop some serious cash to turn a jetta into a sports car, and at that point it would be more economical to buy a GTI or R. Just let the jetta be a solid comfortable commuter.
Can I install an aftermarket catback with a resonator delete?
Our resonator delete pipe is intended for use with the stock catback exhaust.
golf 4x4?
4Motion
I want to hear a deep exhaust that sounds like super racing bike I hate the rattling sound of this muflar
I wouldent want them to beat on my car for a discount price
$150 for a single piece of pipe? Damn dude. Rip off
We offer our kit as well as the OEM VW/Audi kit. Our kit is less expensive and offers very similar results.
Here's a link to compare: goo.gl/EdRgbZ
Pay $1000+ for a full exhaust then. $150
Is literally nothing for the 20% more sound you get. Should’ve came stock sounding like this anyways.
More like 5.5 inches from the resonator.
I now have an open exhaust. Guess I'm dropping $$$ to fix it all now
Just did mine today, I can assure anyone who's installing this it is 5.5 inches from the bracket, as the video described.
sounds gay
Would this fit on a 2016 Scirocco R?
Ordering why didn't I do this first.
is it the same straight pipe for 2013 cc VR6 4 motion?
