Wow, what a pleasant surprise to find this channel. Back to back with William Alexander and Bob Ross on PBS was my must watch TV in the 80's.

It's always "allmächtig gut" to watch "Onkel Willi" paint.
It's important to note that Bill's and Bob's painting technique utilizes special extraordinarily thick paints which, not coincidentally, can only be purchased through them.
Try this with normal oil paints and you'll have a great deal of trouble making things work.

Our paint was specially formulated for this technique. There are ways that you can make any oil paint for for this technique. We teach people how to use what they have through our programs at alexanderart.com.

*Wow, just using the knife! Really something. I don't think I've seen Bob do a painting using just a knife.* I used to watch Bob paintings, but now I see Bill's only. Got tired of the same boring landscape Bob does over and over again...a mountain range (with same paint color code), same trees, same rivers, ...very rarely does he do something different, and that too he only changes the mood, an evening sky or something. I've not seen Bob do a vase, or a candle, or a building etc. like Bill has done. Bill has way more range. And of course Bill's paintings are fun to watch. It's like a magic show. You can never expect what he does next. Sometimes it even starts off with something seemingly unimpressive, but towards the middle and to the end the entire thing is transformed to something really beautiful. Also Bill's paintings look way more realistic than Bob's. The sky, the trees, the rivers, it all looks more genuine.
    Bob's paintings looks like a simple painting,..but Bill's look like a photograph.
If it's to go to sleep or to get up in the morning, I watch Bill's paintings, everyday!
Some people say Bob's talking is like ASMR. To me it is so boring and it got irritating after 2 or 3 videos. And moreover that ASMR stuff is weird coming from a guy and not from a woman (I think he copied the ASMR talk from Diane Andre, another irritating talker, remember the tata tatata sounds she make...jeez). I would prefer Bill's "Fire in" talk (and inspiring words) any day over Bob's "Happy cloud", "There" femme talk.

Crime Fighter honestly I think it is a case of ‘which God do you prefer’. Personally I think the world is a better place because Bill and Bob graced us with their existence 😊

No need to bring down others to compliment one. Both of them are good painters who inspired and made many people happy.

Bob Ross has done a handful of just knife paintings. About one per season. I'm sure you could find them right here on TH-cam.

I'm a huge Bob Ross fan but Bob falsely claimed he invented this system! Bill Alexander taught Bob Ross everything he knew! The Magic White, the knife, gesso, etc. were all ideas of Bill Alexander.
