  • In this video I will show you how to create a button box that is used in games. Using zero delay encoder board. Also, I will show you how to have 16 buttons instead of 12.
    In addition to the parts you also need a drill, drill bits, soldering iron, solder wire, and wires to connecting the buttons to board (I used the standard ethernet cable).
    P.S. I have 19 buttons on the box, which 3 of them are not connected, I designed like that because I was planning to use Arduino pro micro.

    I noticed the zero delay board comes in two different versions, the sanwa style and the happ style.
    Will that 4 Position joystick work with either?

      From what I know, HAPP and SANWA are joystick type, not board. And yes, it will work, just you need to know how to connect them.

    I have a question about using the switches. When you flip them off and on, how does the computer interpret that? Does it count as the same button press everytime you flip it on and off, or does it interpret them as two different button presses?

    • @baldeagle_gaming
      @baldeagle_gaming  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      If you are asking about the 3 pin toggle switch is 2 buttons in one (flip up it’s a button and flip down it’s another button), and it’s momentary which mean it backs to off position as soon as you released it. For more info: The push colorful buttons are momentary buttons (just like toggle switch), which mean when you release the button will turn to off position, when you push button will send signal to PC and when it released will stop, for example if you push once will turn the light on and when push again will turn it off, and if you hold it will keep sending signal to pc such as in horn case. The push-pull buttons that I used in truck/trailer brake (the red and yellow in right upper corner) when you pull the button will be on, and when you push it will go off. I hope I answered your question, thank you.

    I have a question about the push pull switches. I’m building a box but I’m only looking to wire just the push pull switches nothing else. Do I still need to solider them to the back of the board or could I simply plug them into a a slot on the board ?

    • @baldeagle_gaming
      @baldeagle_gaming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can plug them in slot if you have wire with adapter, I mentioned that, if you back couple minutes, I am soldering them cos didn't have enough wires with adapter, the board came with only 10 wires.

    Does the 4 way momentary joystick function as an up down left right? I play American Truck Simulator. Would it function as 4 more buttons to be able to map?

    • @briantrussell3295

      Also I could not see in the video or missed it; what is the ground wire connected to?

    • @baldeagle_gaming
      @baldeagle_gaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      @briantrussell3295 Yes, it is up, down, right, and left. I maped to right/left signal, high beem, and light horn. And if you go back to video to 6:40 you will see that the ground is shared between the four buttons (right, left, up, down). Thank you, please like and subscribe will help the channel a lot.

    Very helpful. Where did you find the wiring/pin diagram for the 4-pos joystick?

      @@baldeagle_gaming I was referring to how did you know how to wire it correctly. I was using your video as a basis for mine, and the last part to be delivered was the joystick. Mine came with no documentation, so if it wasn’t for your video, I would never even known how to separate the base 😊.

      Anyway, would you be willing to share how you figured out how to wire this? I'm going to copy yours, but I would love to have a better understanding of it.

    • @baldeagle_gaming
      @baldeagle_gaming  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @martygenska8117 Joystick is like 4 buttons in one, so you will wire it just like a normal button. The only difference here is that you will share the GND between them. And how I know that, you can say it is a talent, lol. I am jk. You can say I have some experience.

    • @martygenska8117

      Thanks. I knew the part about it being setup as four separate buttons, just did not understand how you knew the one side of the whole device was ground. Once I realized that each 'square' was a separate switch it made much, much more sense. Anyway, it works fine :)

    Will the 4 way joystick also work using the alternate 2pin joystick connections?

    • @baldeagle_gaming
      @baldeagle_gaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      2pin joystick? Do you mean using the 2 pin spot to connect joystick? If yes, then you can, but again, the wiring will be different.

      The board I used in this video has 3 5v output, it you have more than 3 then you can soldering the wires to the port, but remember this board get its power from PC usb and this could be a lot for the usb port. The other option is to use external power source, one option will be a cellphone (mobile) charger.
