    One of my favorite things about this game is how the alien gradually becomes smarter and starts to "learn" your tricks and will actually back down when you aim the flamethrower at him if you've used it enough. He eventually realizes what it is and wants to avoid it. The way he completely stops in his tracks to cower and hiss at the player (0:39) is such an awesome and refreshing little detail they added to the game. Also, the fact that 98% of the time he is totally unpredictable forcing you to be on high alert and ready to make snap decisions at any moment to either fight, hide or use stuff in the environment to your advantage makes the game so much more immersive and fun. It's never the same thing.

    I'm guessing that area was blocked off to the Xeno due to the ceiling height, so every time you went there he couldn't pathfind to you. Interesting to see how he dealt with the situation!

      Yeah, it's possible. Another point is that audio is quieter beyond this point, you are somehow out of the game there. I would compare it to the broken elevator at server hub reception in mission 10

      I've forgotten to mention that it can't detect you in the tunnels there too, they are not like vents, it can't follow there. There is always a line, beyond you are not longer existing for the Xenos (there are 2 at times)

      Yeah again I think this is probably due to the heights - it's not a normal vent, the nest goo is inside which makes it smaller and only facehuggers can enter. Interesting to see!

      Yea, and such spots betrays the sloppy design of Xeno's pathfinding system overall. Btw, another such spot is the room with a medkit blueprint v2 -- coded door with a vent hatch u may cut open near Lorenz SysTech Lobby Transit Station. If u get there via the vent, u may do whatever u want, Xeno will see you, stare at u a little, and, due to the failure of adding an AI pathing into the said above vent, will retreat soon like he does here. If you open the door, however, he will get ya.
      In one of the DLC missions, introducing Hughes I think, there is an area reminding Hospital -- with the small patient rooms with doors that can be locked from the inside using a button, just like in San Cristobal. However, to make it more competitive, there are side vents into each such room, so even if you close the door in front of Xeno, he can still get to you via these vents. It eliminates the theory of vent being not big enough for him to access (as I thought at first).
      I guess perfect approach in terms of AI and pathing should have been taken from the games such as AvP 2010 and L4D franchise, as either zombies or xenomorphs can get you wherever you're going, u CANNOT cheese your survival (even though there are some bugged spots with broken AI map in L4D, but, shame they didnt fix those by now).

      I don't think you can count these as failures in the AI, creating a system that adapts to environment height would be far more complicated than just disallowing the Xeno from certain areas. Allowing him to enter small spaces would affect movement animations and attack positions which would take a lot of time to develop and ultimately wouldn't really be worth it.

      You know what I'd like to see, Hadley's Hope style video only instead call it Fury 161 using one of Goldenthal's tracks. Alien 3's music was always my favorite.

      Hiiii x5, all fine in the states ? I can calm you down, for the next video which is almost done i used track No.1 'Agnus Dei ', but Hadleys Hope was horrifying work in terms of playing and scene selecting again and again.

    Some good music for future vids (if u got any planned) Sam Spence.
    He did sounds for NFL films ( all those classics in the 70s in super slow motion) and made them poetic looking. There are several really good tunes he's got that would fit pretty much any game.
