    Boy I've been seeing that after trying to find a 300td wagon that is at least clean enough to be a candidate for getting back up to speed. But like you said , "This table full of parts is all stuff that needs to be replaced after 40 years but never is." While asking prices on some of these well used 300s are as if they are 100% ready to go like your finished cars that have been went through top to bottom!

      People always think their car is "fully sorted" and "everything works". They never are.

    Best Sunday with a new video from WAB 🤓 it’s just so satisfying seeing my favorite cars being restored to this condition. I’m doing a complete overhaul to my W123 front suspension now also inspired by your videos. (Torn lower ball joints etc) still happy with the Lemförder quality? I’m debating with my self if I should buy Lemförder or directly from Mercedes…

      Lemforder is excellent quality and I'm never had a single issue with them the fit and fitment is great. So glad you're enjoying the videos. Also keep in mind Lemforder was the OEM supplier for Mercedes. Mercedes did not make parts ;)

    Hey I'd like to similarly replace my worn out suspension. Where do you get your parts from? Specifically the lower control arm bushings. ECS tunning / Rockauto good?

    • @woodsandbarclay
      @woodsandbarclay  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No do not use ECS or rockauto. FCP Euro, AutohausAZ, Pelican Parts, Mercedes Dealership. For wholesale business accounts buy from SSF Autoparts or Parts Authority.

    Do you only use MB engine mounts? Have you used lemforder? I installed lemforder and am not very impressed by them. Thought they would be close to MB quality.

      @woodsandbarclay  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      I used Lemforder or MB but lemforder are no longer available directly from the manufacturer so I order them from the classic center directly. Please keep in mind that Lemforder is who manufactured the engine mounts for Mercedes. So if you buy a genuine Mercedes engine mount you're buying a Lemforder engine mount.

      I understand what this viewer means. I also replaced both engine mounts (lemforder), engine shock and it's smaller parts, and even engine stopper. And honestly, the shake at idle and start/stop isn't crazy better. Just slightly.

    • @woodsandbarclay
      @woodsandbarclay  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That shake is not because of your engine mounts and shocks it's because you probably need to replace your rack damper bolt. That is what limits the shake from the rack in the injection pump at idle. Crucial thing that everybody misses. If you're not familiar with it just look up some videos on TH-cam. Pretty easy to make an adjustment or replace the bolt. Highly recommended.

      @@woodsandbarclayvery interesting... Will look up immediately. I usually just keep my "idle gauge" on the dashboard at max just to idle a bit higher to have it shake less. Am I understanding it correctly that this adjustment is different from an idle speed adjustment and is more about the pump and the engine being better synced at low rpm?

      Just go on Google and type in w123 or 300D rack damper bolt. Learn about it. Has nothing to do with your idle speed.
