    No hardware FN keys is a deal breaker for me

      And no ports. You can do so much better than this Dell.

      Agreed. The lack of fn keys as a developer is just an absolute no. Also Dell being an ass of a company to its employees with the WFH stuff really puts me off.

      @@dfgatorfan Like, there's no reason why there couldn't be more USB-C. Is the headphone jack there at least?

      @@TerabitTech For a 16in laptop geared towards creators it should have 3 USB-C, 1 USB A, HDMI, Headphone, and a full size SD card

    Had XPS since the 4th gen. Mostly OLED versions. The 3.5k was a step backwards. The new keyboard is awful to type on. The fn keys are dumb - did they not learn anything from Apple? Maybe time for some other brand.

    Touchbar is a deal breaker for me. Also there is no way to know where the trackpad ends. Lenovo and asus are doing so much better than dell

    Other reviewers have commented on the screen door effect of the screen and the lower performance of these XPS Plus series laptops because of the thermal limitations of the chassis. What’s been your experience?
    It seems that competitors like the G16 & Yoga Pro 16 OLED perform miles better and are considerably cheaper as well as probably more practical/nicer to own? The Zen 5 Pro Art 16 would likely smoke the XPS even with a lower spec GPU. (The only drawback with that laptop is the 60hz screen which is fine for content creation but not great for anything else.) When the rest of the premium Zen 5 generation laptops come out, isn’t the danger that this XPS will look like an overpriced white elephant?

    I regret buying my gaming laptop it doesn't seem like a desktop replacement all aspects about it seem minimized from the browser to alot of other aspects but hey if you want to play games on the go right

    It's actually not that amazing and pretty standard for them.

    I think Asus just came out with a white laptop that looks like this. I don't know if it's as good however. Did you see it? Maybe the Zephyrus G16?

    • @mwd6478
      @mwd6478 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya, I second this. I want to see the g14 and g16 compared to the XPS new stuff. Neither are going to give full, great gaming performance but this unicorn zone of good at everything is my impression.

      I was between that G16 and this XPS 16, this one has better build quality, hinge seems better and ultimately I got the XPS because it has a touch screen and I think it looks nicer. Asus is hit or miss to me and wifi has been bad for me in past G14/15 devices i've owned.

    • @mwd6478

      I have the g14 and on paper it's amazing but there's been some issues with drivers and power management. Seems like next generation should be ironed out if there's no big changes... I don't think there's an XPS with a 4070 but I think you made the right call between the two if the specs are right.

    It sucks. All these channels worshiping the XPS got Dell all hyped up and now they suck.

    • @miguelangelt1445
      @miguelangelt1445 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Actually all the channels wanted a big redesign because they were bored of the carbon fiber that got dirty and the poor performance, now Dell gave us a redesign but people are still not happy although looking at the good, they no longer have thermal throttling

    I think Dells mistake was to not go OLED 17. That’s what I was hoping for & ultimately what made me switch to Macs & ..hard to go back to windows. Will agree the xps is the best look hands down imho
