I taught her how to do the Detroit style Ballroom dance and My great friend Angelo took her to another level with it. They're doing a 2 step style of Detroit Ballroom dance whereas most of the time everyone is doing the Cha Cha Cha 3 step Ballroom dance. Angelo is one of the best Ballroom dance instructor in Detroit. We always share details on different freestyle dance moves along with the basic moves. People get confused and call Detroit Ballroom Steppin. If you pay attention to both style of dance, you will clearly see the difference in them. We don’t step primarily in Cali, we cha-cha, but I’m originally from The Mid-Westa STL so I know about Steppin’ just don’t know how. I think this couple killed it! Their moves flowed easily and SHE kept in sync with those stilettos on! Every time I see a Steppin’ video, the music is on point. I guess the R&B Messiah who is locked up, is no longer the King of Steppin’ music.
Somehow I wonder how many points they lost with the hand bouncing stuff. Fantastic dance but all the hand bouncing he was doing seemed a bit distracting and my teacher would certainly chew my hide for doing that.
Why is that DJ playing that slow as song... nice song but it is a ballroom style detroit competition... and that is something that detroit can do well... in a competition like this the music should be up beat...
