But it seems like he doesn't practice that much. I mean, the guy could easily pay an excellent teacher to fix his vocal mess, but maybe he is to lazy and doesn't care, just like lars ulrich.
I think I figured out what James LaBrie's secret is! This was recorded on the 7th of October, just a few days before the night when DT covered DSotM in its entirety. And if you watch the concert, you can see James playing keyboards sometimes. He just didn't want people to see it before the actual event itself.
When he covers up whatever it was on the keyboard he didn't want us to see; it reminds me of Lars Ulrich doing the same thing in the Load album studio footage. At least I think it was that album. Anyways, it looked like Lars was covering up small glyphs/symbols. I thought it was weird too. It probably does something to the mind once understood.
I think it all depends on the routing. If it's a 10 hour drive, they'd almost have to sleep on the bus. I have seen vids of them getting to hotel rooms late at night, so if there is a shorter drive (2-4 hours), I'm guessing hotel rooms are involved.
I wonder what other, better singers (Geoff Tate, Bruce Dickenson, Halford, John Arch, Ray Alder, etc..) do, if anything, to keep their voice going good.
None of them also had two vocal ruptures. I think james does fantastic given the circumstances. I personally like him better than any of them except for Bruce Dickinson who will always be number 1 for me
I have never seen a more dedicated Rock Vocalist. Amazing

That era where James playrd with Jordan a few times, like the intro of Octavarium
They played Dark Side of the Moon for the first time at Netherlands, October 11th. So it makes even more sense!

Yep, for real!
0:37 Jordan is a leader from HarleyDavidson motor club
Music in the beginning... Octavariums famed extended version?
Jordan looked high O_o
What song is that in the opening? Just Jordan riffing overvan Octavarium demo?....
Holly S...Jordan was carrying a full blown Moog then. Does he do that still?
Drumavid Checkupz Nope. He did that for the Octavarium tour so he could do the keyboard solo in between Medicate and Full Circle.
3:18 curiosity abounds...
Makes a perfect cocaine holder!
James looks so exasperated omg
I met Burt once and farted hard. I mean I literally shit myself in gas form.

TOILETTE ..XD
Its amazing how he has numbered keys being all these years with keyboard geniouses and not learning anything :o
James Labrie was a pianist, keyboardist in his young years. and was a drummer also...
Each key had an assigned preset, so the notes are to remember which preset each key has.
I think he mentioned the colors are helpful when it's dark
