I've made several ponchos of Crystals, but I just saw this one on Pamela's channel and came to make it! I have a bunch of Shawl In A Ball colorways and have been looking for something to make with them. I agree that they are very "thin" for a 4-weight, which is why I have a bunch of them... I bought them thinking they would be thicker, LOL! But they are PERFECT for this pattern!
This is such a great pattern that can be used in lots of ways. I'm making one as a layer for a fairy costume and I'll add flowers and other embellishments to it.

Phew! Two days, I have tried to get the first row, right. I would either have 79 stitches, or 81! Lol, I laugh now, but I was getting so frustrated and discouraged. I finally put in tiny stitch markers every 20 chains, and I had success! With mature eyes, and macular degeneration, I do have to be extremely careful using this yarn. (I made a shawl wrap, from lion brand’s patterns in the coral, first.) This is super easy, as you said, once you get past the first row. Thank you, Crystal for another amazing tutorial and pattern. I have made 2 of your men’s ponchos. They are also super easy and look fantastic finished. The guys, teased me about 420, but that’s okay. It was appropriate, the look does remind me of Shaggy from Scooby Doo. 😉✌🏼

I don't know how I missed this one when going through your poncho patterns (I've made a few now). I saw this worked up several times by Pamela of Pamela's Adoring Crochet and immediately fell in love with it. Spring has been a little nippy here in SW Oklahoma this year and a poncho like this would be PERFECT to toss over me when I get a little chilly. Thank you, Crystal (and Pamela!)!!

I MUST HAVED RIPPED THIS OUT ENOUGH TO MAKE IT 10 TIMES. Then I put a stitch marker on the corners and didnt keep messing it up lol

My yarn kept twisting, but i managed and started shawl, did notice when i finished round 1, i did my join differently and somehow ended up with 5 points!!! I did go down a size hook as my yarn isn't the best for this type of lacy effect!!! Anyway now listening to you without doing my own thing, i will undo last row and go back to my 4 points, think i have the idea now!!! It was getting bigger, but with 5 points, lol!!!
