You get more information through this guy than not even Amazon representatives inform you regarding the status of your package, that’s why don’t stop following him 👏👏👏👏👏👏They should have pay this guy.
James with all the information you keep giving, no one should feel lost about getting anything done in the Dominican Republic. Great info and thank you for sharing 👍👍👍
I use Mail Boxes Etc. You get a Miami mail box once you sign up. Amazon does not charge US sales tax, as mailing to this address is considered export. Most items come by air in 2 days. 1 day to clear customs and to arrive at your local mail boxes etc to pick up. Cost is per pound, not by volume. The more it weighs, the lower the cost per pound. You can receive items here up to $200 tax free. There are many other companies with similar services.
One of your best videos. These type of info makes it so easy to understand the Dominican way of living. Other ideas… trustful car companies to buy a car, best catering ideas or companies, banking in DR, how to pay your property taxes, best malls, best hospitals or clinics, recommended doctors, best areas to stay in Santo Domingo, pu ta Cana ect for a weekend.
BM Cargo also has free returns, so if your package arrives defective or the seller sent the wrong item, you can ask the seller for a return label and send it back with them. Their cut-off day is Wednesdays, and then on Sundays all the return packages are sent to Miami.
As I prepared my apartment for Airbnb in STI, I realized that although the Dominican Republic offers a wide variety of items, some challenges still arise during the process. It's easy to overlook certain essentials, leading to situations like, "I forgot this small item" or "I'm missing this part." These little oversights are often difficult to address in the DR, where Amazon is just a day or two away.
Great video Jay. Love your sense of humor - I'm cracking up as you're talking and thinking that you've been paying more with T Pack. 🙂 That's hilarious. Yes, the taxes make a difference.
When you think about it, the wait time is still not bad. Before there was a such thing as 'express shipping', with tracking numbers and ETA arrivals, it was a guess when you'd recieve your shipment. Wait times back then was the same as shipping to DR today 🤔. Good content 💯
Hey Jay, Thank you for the valuable and detailed information. This is one of the best detailed info videos that I've seen on TH-cam. Make more of these bro. Blessings to you.
Taxes aren’t included in that BM Cargo rate, that’s just the base rate. By the time you add the little additional fees, it’s in the same ball park as what you’re paying TPack
Yo, Jay. I work at a pharmacy that services the northeast. I inform all the nurses where I am located and if they can work remotely and want to move out of the US and how to achieve it, they require additional details. Your vlogs are the ones I recommend they watch

EPS its expensive but their service its faster than many other mail fowarders in DR. Most of the time I receive the packages 2 days after its received in Florida wharehouse.
48-72 hours after delivery is still crazy fast to me! It used to be that we had to wait at least a week to receive anything in the DR. I have a friend that lives in a very rural area in the US and packages get to her in no less than a week, more realistically 2 weeks. I can definitely live with that.
@@ParteraQuisqueyana I'm going to explain it to you so you understand a little better. Great video and very helpful. Q: how do you manage every day financial purchases in DR? ie. do you use a USA credit card, PayPal, or a local bank ATM card…Do you have a video about this? Thank you!
You didn't mention one that I consider great and that's Jetpack they charge 295 pesos per pound across the board I used BM Cargo when I first came to this country but the problem I had at least at their office in Puerto Plata was at any time of the day there can be 15-20 people ahead of you and can take 1hour to 1 1/2 hours to get in and out with that many people, at Jetpack never more than 2 people ahead of me and I'm in and out in 10 minutes

Look like it’s time to switch bruh. My wife and I use BlumBox, which is also located in Miami to receive things in Bisonó (Navarrete). 2 to 4 days wait time max, depending on when it arrives in Miami. But of course it takes that long because it comes through Las Americas first, then their office in Santo Domingo, then the office in Santiago and then their office here in Bisonó. Haven’t had any issues yet. 3.18/lb. We just paid 1700 DOP on 9lbs for everything, taxes and weight

hey boss, great video, I just signed up with BM Cargo. Question, its not just for amazon right. I can ship anything within reason to that Doral, Florida addy and they will forward it to me to their address in Santo Domingo? And then they will send it to the closest location based on the address I supplied when registering? thanks! AND YES I used THIS video to learn how to get my Amazon in Santo Domingo!! THANKS JAY!
I see that the apps ask for measurements for a sample price check. When you get things from Amazon, once it hits Florida, do they measure and let you know what the price will be at pickup? Or do you fill out info on app before Amazon gets to Florida office?
What is the procedure if what is inside is broken or not working properly like an electronic ? How do you send it back to Amazon? Sometimes you may order 5 or 6 items from Amazon and some may arrive on different dates, can you tell them to wait until all packages arrive at their location to have them ship it all together ?
That's a good question never had that happen to me so I don't know ow but definitely something to ask the courier before registering. I've have several packages arrive on different days but they don't hold it at the facility in Miami. They ship it. Now you can wait to pick it up in DR after all your packages arrive. I've done that before.
Hey any truth to what I have heard in the past. That when your box arrives at the place you pick up, that they check what’s in the box and anything priced over 250 usc, you have to pay taxes.
Yes they do look in your package. They sometimes do this but not all the time if there is something over $250. If it's electronics they will definitely tax you if it's valued over $250
Hi, thanks for the video. When you say they charge by the pound, do they charge by the pound of the initial packaging from Amazon or after they wrap it in a bigger box, like what you mentioned happened with the microwave that ended up being heavier?
They charge for per pound how the package arrives at their facility. They don't repackage your merchandise. In the case of the microwave the shipper shipped it that way. It was in that crate when it arrived.
@@JayAbroad yeah, I use BM Cargo super frequently, and I wouldn’t tell your viewers those prices, because they are deceptive and not accurate (not your fault). When you actually get your Amazon package, you’ll be paying closer to $5 per pound. One thing that I’d add is that there are several bulk couriers that you pay a flat fee per crate/box, so if you’re shipping something super heavy, you can get a cheaper price per pound. Also, I’d advise people that if they buy more than $200 worth of stuff, you’d be subject to import taxes. So I tend to only use BM Cargo for less than $200 orders, and when it isn’t so heavy. There are a lot of items that you can buy where the BM Cargo fee can be comparable to the entire purchase price.
I appreciate the insight but I'm giving them the basics. They can dig deeper into the details when they choose their courier. There is no one size fits all. The video is great and gives them an idea. It's not to hold their hand during the process. Have great night!
