Very pretty piece and top notch machine. Love the vintage machines. Real workhorses!

Just found this exact machine on the side of the road with 40 years of cigarette smoke covering it , brought it home gave it a bath and oiled her up and went over everything , she runs great and looks amazing , still like new , i own 4 vintage machines now and love every one of them . The design and style of the 50 models draw me in like a moth to a flame , life will never be like that again , the shapes they came up with back then just are so flowing and fancy it just feels romantic . Yes im a wierd one i guess lol ...

When I set it to embroidery mode, meaning removing the foot and lowering the lower teeth... when I put it in zigzag mode or even normal mode, the thread doesn't stick to the fabric at all. Is there a solution?❤❤

How to adjust the machine before embroiding?

Some 237 models have the drop feed. If you have it, drop the feed and then you are ready to go. If your machine does not have it, there are a few simple options which I will explain. You can remove the feed dogs (two screws under the stitch plate) or you can use a feed dog cover (these are available with the buttonholers. A third option is to set the feed to 0 (the feed dogs go up and down only) - then you can cover them with painters tape and this will enable you to move the hoop around easily. Remove to remove the presser foot (you can use a hopping foot or just the needle) and drop the presser foot lever in back to ensure that you have tension on the thread. The thread settings should be normal and you should have no issues making it work either with straight stitch or zigzag stitches for free motion.
