i did the autofoam on my suv chassis previously at KL Auto. couldn't tell if the handling has improved but what was immediately apparent was the water splash noise on the wheel arches was greatly reduced on wet roads.
Really appreciate the cost being disclose! Now we can do the same with comfort

Ativa and Myvi (3rd gen) actually are one of the best (if not THE BEST) handling though.

from an ex-BMW owner to an ativa is definitely a humbling experience and some would even say a downgrade but a very wise financial decision. clout and flex isnt everything. i still think its better to buy a local cheap car especially second hand car and mod it, cars depreciate and a bad investment. as long as you enjoy it.

Yup. Where got ativa 47k. the cheapest i found 52k. Facebook market place. the lowest variant.
possible if you buy direct from owner/friends. most agents usually take a commission >10% so if you are able to bypass that and sort out the documents yourself, you can almost always get it for cheaper.

If you drive for a long journey frequently say from KL to Penang or A Setar or JB i think Ativa is not a good choice.
Buy a good 2nd hand Honda CRV or Toyota sedan is a better choice as long as you can pay cash. May be around RM 80K to 90K. Daily commuting around KL Ativa is ok.

I recently bought a secondhand car because I needed a bigger car for the comfort of the rear passengers (who are my family members). Within 7 months, I spent an exorbitant amount (I could have bought the car x2) fixing the car as the previous owner did not take care of it. Suspected used fake engine oil. But I love the car and now, after a full overhaul, runs well....I hope.
I bought a Kia Forte for 55k many years ago when my salary was 6k. 600rm installment. After many years i recently changed to a Merc CLA for 150k, 2k installment on 28k salary.

also do bare in mind, there is a price to pay for doing all the sound deadening - added weight means more fuel consumption.
Everything makes sense if your intention is soundproofing. But don't expect better handling just because your body frame is stuffed full of expanding PU foam. It doesn't work this way

On Peter's Ativa, total weight for Soundproofing the Roof, doors, Floorpan + AutoFOAM is approx 25kg.

It depends on your financial status. If you’re single and have no commitment and lives with parents. 3-3.5k is already enough for you to pass the loan with guarantors for honda civic V variant. General rule of thumb is your car expenses shouldn’t eat 40% of your monthly salary. That expenses include fuel, road tax, insurance, car payment, wear and tear parts and maintenance. If you only have 50k,then don’t put a downpayment of 50k. Save atleast 15k for emergency funds. My two cents is get a myvi, don’t buy it cash just take a loan and take the 50k and put in asb or fd for 3-5 years with a monthly of saving 500 ringgit extra( if you can afford to). Once you get more than 50k,you now can sell back myvi (myvi have good resale value) and use that money you had from fd and buy the civic and pay less instalment.

Imagine there's a pillow to cushion the impact. Many modern cars are Foam treated from factory nowadays.
Dude.. we are the same. I can buy a 300k brand new car with loan using my payslip but i decided to buy a used 2012 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 using cash (40k) since i know the car is super reliable.. yes used car has it's risks but you can always get a third party inspector to mitigate the risks.. also i don't like this life hack go viral because it will increase demand on used cars & overall increase in prices.. hehe
Can I ask where did you buy your second hand car? For a person who does not know how to check whether a second hand car is in good condition, what advice would you give?
1. No major engine or transmission issues - leaks, weird noises during operation, low power etc.., these are quite expensive
2. Whether the vehicle's been involved in any major accident, and if so, how bad was the vehicle's condition?
3. Simple but common sense, always test drive the vehicle you plan to buy

MC6 is something similar to PS4. More to sporty tyre while Primacy 4 is for comfort and fuel efficient tyre. It depends on your driving preferences. I
If you have kids or like to drive SLOW then Primacy 4 is enough but if you prefer driving fast then MC6 is good. Its slightly lower than PS4 but still handles good in my opinion

Soon after i work i will buy used car too. Now i already got an old honda city from my parents. This year i will work as doctor and started saving money to buy used car next 3-4years. I dont see the hype of buying expensive car as the value will go down in upcoming years😅 well not that i can even afford expensive cars😂
