The '92 Hogs picked a bad time to have a bad game. They were the only SEC team to beat the Kentucky Unforgettables at Rupp. The start of Memphis State's last hurrah post-Dana Kirk before they dropped the 'State'
Memphis has always been my team but we didnt play good in this game the Hogs should of won this one but my guy Penny he always been the Truth with the Magicesque game unstoppable was a great win for the tigers.
Damn bro how about a spoiler warning. I guess I had no business in the comment section if I wanted to not know the winner of a tournament game from when I was in 7th grade!
I don't guess they called back court violations back then.....6:35 mark right in front of the ref...no call lmao......not sure Memphis has beaten Ark since
As an Arkansas fan this game was a huge disappointment. I recall thinking something is just not right here, chemistry wise all that like Arkansas was led by freshmen. Keep in mind Mayberry, Day and Miller were all SENIORS who had accomplished a lot already and this was suppose to be their year. It was later revealed Miller had a broken foot but he was always having nagging injuries and who could possibly guess the reason? Yeah weight. As for Todd Day the next year Nolan Richardson took a verbal swipe at Day saying someone was thinking about their nba career before he finished playing college basketball and forgot how to play his last 2 games. Clearly a reference to Day. Then as for Mayberry I really don’t know what was going on with him but I always thought he was a class act.
I thought he was highly entertaining listening to him here to be honest! He has a different kind of style. Like a dude who sounds like one of the "wise guys" that knows basketball.
Ahhh!! The good ole days of college b-ball
David Vaughn went to Whites Creek Highschool in Nashville TN
My high school would bring tvs into the gym and lounge so students could watch it during free periods. So fun.
The Old school KTHV graphic at 16:30 is legendary. 501 Stand up and represent. If you know, you know.
I had forgot this one. It was hard to watch with so many turnovers. But Vaughn took over after Penny fouled out. Great win.
MEMPHIS vs. MEMPHIS
DEFINITELY
ALL I NEED IS THE NCAA GREEN LIGHT AND WILL BRING OUT THE BEST BASKET BALL GAME EVER
I want us playing Arkansas and the Vols again
me too, and Louisville.
penny was the truth
So was Day

Memphis just stole this one. Hogs had it. Tough one.

Todd Day was a talented Collegiate player but did not do much in the NBA. Drafted by Milwaukee
Lee Mayberry also. In fact they're final college and 1st pro game were both on this same court!
Both were collegiant legends though. Two of the best to ever play at Arkansas aside from Scotty Thurman and Corliss Williamson and Cory Beck.

Lee Mayberry wasn’t on the Memphis team, Al 🎉
