Really excellent tutorial. The material is killer, and your voice is so sensual and soothing. Magnificent experience. 10 out of 10.

I'd love to see more in regards to impacts/ground slams made with this technique. There really isn't much content about that out there! Much love.

That's a really good idea. I just bought a new mic and I was thinking about doing a tutorial series for beginners getting started in Unity and Unreal for VFX. Ground slams and impacts would be a great future video.

This look awesome, sadly I can't hear you even with the volume at max.

Hey pal. I've just find your channel and wanted to say that, what you're doing is great and important. There is not enough good resources that teaches VFX in Unreal Engine that starts from the beginning (Texture Creation). Please keep up the good work 😊😊
You can up the volume a little bit though. 😅

Thank you for the feedback. You're absolutely right I definitely need a new mic the one I currently use is not great.

Hello. Ty for this tutorial. Can you please refer any good sources where I can learn what's happening behind the scene like regarding the math from Shader perspective? I understand we are converting rectangular to polar coordinates however I can't quite relate it to theory.

Yes good heads up! For those wondering or looking in comments the hot key for toggling realtime is Ctrl-R.

Great Tutorial! Straight to the point.
I have a question: how to get rid of that line on the mesh? I have been researching and checking but I couldn't find an answer.
Is it related to the Mesh UV?
Very grateful for sharing your knowledge and experience.
And, Trevis, why are you sharing and teaching?

Great question. I haven't found a great way to get rid of the line other than adding more noise to distort it. I am sharing and teaching just for fun. I am a professional VFX Artist and I know that these videos would have helped me in the past. I have watched so many tutorials over the years so I figured I'd give back a little.

If you change texture mip more to derivative and add a ddx and ddy node connected to a tex coord it fixes it.

Is it possible to add triplanar blending to this? If so any idea how it's done?

I'm sure there is a way but I don't know off the top of my head. Let me know if this is still bothering you and I can look into it.
