Got to know Mike Bickle through a preaching of Ps Bill at IHOP one thing conference 2016 and that teaching was entirely on holiness and power.. though titled #kingdom #power and #glory, it took a prophetic direction instead and hitting emphatically on purity, I've never been the same, I think am following that message till today. I disagree with Bill Johnson. Jesus made it clear that power was not equivalent to holiness. He rebuked his disciples for wanting to call down fire on those who rejected him. That he would send them out like lambs among the wolves. He said a little child among them is the greatest in the kingdom. That the meek will inherit the earth. He said that many calling him "Lord, Lord" and claimed to show great miracles and power may not even know him and he will say to them "depart from me." The scripture even says that John the Baptist was admired by the people because though he DID NO MIRACLES what he said about the man Jesus was true. Then Jesus declared no one greater than John was born of women! Though if course he preached with power from the Spirit. Scripture makes it clear: holiness glorifies God and is far superior than power. I might agree with him if he means this: without holiness there is no power from the Holy Spirit. So maybe more context and some definition of "power" is in order. But a lot of people can fake it because they imitate what they think the church wants to see of "Holy Spirit power." It certainly doesn't mean gold dust and feathers falling from the ceiling!

I disagree with Bill Johnson. Jesus made it clear that power was not equivalent to holiness. He rebuked his disciples for wanting to call down fire on those who rejected him. That he would send them out like lambs among the wolves. He said a little child among them is the greatest in the kingdom. That the meek will inherit the earth. He said that many calling him "Lord, Lord" and claimed to show great miracles and power may not even know him and he will say to them "depart from me." The scripture even says that John the Baptist was admired by the people because though he DID NO MIRACLES what he said about the man Jesus was true. Then Jesus declared no one greater than John was born of women! Though if course he preached with power from the Spirit. Scripture makes it clear: holiness glorifies God and is far superior than power. I might agree with him if he means this: without holiness there is no power from the Holy Spirit. So maybe more context and some definition of "power" is in order. But a lot of people can fake it because they imitate what they think the church wants to see of "Holy Spirit power." It certainly doesn't mean gold dust and feathers falling from the ceiling!
