I am currently been playing the build that you posted yesterday. Took me most of the day to respect from my playthrough build which was blind. Recost are very expensive. It makes me happy to see that The build is not completely dead. I went to bed before the patch and woke to Doom and gloom. Thank you for the update looking forward to playing tonight!

The heavy handed 'nerfs' they've been dishing out honestly made me concerned for this build. I'm struggling through the campaign but it's working somewhat, I reached act 1 cruel and the game feels so tedious....I wanted to upgrade/buy gear and do some adjustments to the tree, but seeing all this. I feel like we'll get nerfed to the ground.... To that end, what's the point of trying to sink time into it? I wanted to see how maps are like, but I can't even get to it. I feel so lost and the shops don't sell stuff for me. I tried crafting a bow with every single base I was able to find but I only have my lv28 bow....I need an upgrade, but does it matter now at all. I stopped playing.... I really wanted to have fun, thinking it'd be easier to get into than poe1 but it feels too punishing and too tiring.
Have both! ball lightning on the Cast on Shock, and then create another ball lightning spell to cast manually. Spells that are socketed into another spell like cast on shock, can be created again! thats what I am doing! Cast on shock also still works and procs, you just need to upgrade the skill gem!
love the vids. I don't know if it is just me, but I would love a real breakdown of this and other builds. what I mean is like a build leveling guide. So, like by level 10 I had all these nodes, and these are what you should take first, your gear at that level. Then like every 10 levels you come back and talk about the passive tree stuff you took and why then your loot and so on until the end game. I am a visual learner so it would be better for me to understand that game. Just throwing out a suggestion. Yes your videos might be longer than you like but it will helps us out a little more and with this game so hot a good chance with a better in depth build and leveling guide your channel could grow. I would say try it out one time with I don't know maybe a poison ranger build vid
If you branch upwards really close to the start of the tree you can run into a node that gives you +10 (I think) intellect and 25% mana regen, I think that could help with those issues and allow you to spec into more useful nodes? It doesn't cost too many points to get across to it either by the looks of it.
So playing with a friend who's toon is a lightning Stormweaver, the synergy with a lightning ranger is unreal. The amount he can proc on my lightning rod, it's basically the only skill I use regularly anymore. We can absolutely melt bosses by using debuff's and us both proc'ing lighting rod. We ran through all of Act 3 cruel to get to maps in about 3 hours and rarely died. If you're looking for a co-op pairing of classes, I HIGHLY recommend trying it out.
Sooooooo, as I see here by your comment and what others have mentioned, GGG is catering around GROUP PLAY, and hinder SOLO players with NERF after NERF. I am glad I ask for a Refund via STEAM
After building a merc to act 3 and ascending it, I wanted something else and tried this. Your build is great and simple, thank you. Am ascended and almost at the end of act 2. I will push this character to endgame, much more fun then tossing grenades around if you ask me.

Hey Moxsy want to go magnetic salvo which I know you said you were going to do next one thing I was wondering was with the tree respec should I still follow to get the chance for frenzy charges or could I just go the endgame tree to avoid the respec cost as I just did a respec on my stormweaver but due to the cast on freeze nerf and waiting on the updated guide and the changes the person is making so I don’t have that much gold and am worried about repecing so later in the campaign and the heavy gold cost. Sorry for the essay hope your able to reply at some point thanks and I hope you have fun playing path of exile 2.
been mainly having problems with using lighting rods skill, I’m on ps5 and the auto aim shots are all over the place -_- bit annoying, have to usually jump to where all the rods formed up and lure the mobs to that spot before using lighting arrow to clear them
I was going poison ranger. Got to level 33 (don’t have much time to play) and decided to respect to lightning after seeing some of your videos! I got about halfway done before I ran out of gold. Now I’m level 33 and don’t do any poison OR lightning damage. Literally stuck farming yellows for gold until I have enough gold to respec. It almost makes more sense to just re-roll my ranger, as I only have about 5 hours a week to play. Feels bad.
@ I actually fell off in damage and figured “double dipping” in poison and lightning was making it harder to progress. I then was seeking what would be better, full poison or full lightning and found some videos. Has nothing to do with being a meta slave, but rather just wanting to progress in the game, as I work full time and have a family. Enjoy the rest of highschool.
This is the same situation for Sorc right? I've been a bit caught up in the outrage. So would cast on crit/freeze still do the same thing for boss damage. But you would just have to self cast for mobs?
I still blow up stuff with cast on shock, hell I have WAY too little mana to support the amount of ball lightnings I shoot out LOL. Got a dualstring bow that then ALSO has +1 proj and solid phys dmg, it's kinda nuts how much dmg, utility and speed this build has. Very smooth!
the only thing i am missing here is: where is he getting all the int from? there is 30 int on gloves and ~30 int in his tree. but u need at lease 95int for CoS
I was leveling with this, sort of. Instead of using ball lightning and going that far into intelligence I was using Orb of Storms which triggers chain lightning any time you use a lightning skill next too it, and since lightning rod is a lightning skill it had a similar effect though not quite as potent. At least nto at my level/gear. xD
Im running a pathfinder ranger with poison...I pin and stun everything and poison procts so fast from each enemy. Slow start at first but now its eating every boss. Strickly all poison is very viable
Ive never really understood poe2, can u make a guide on how to actually 'get good items' or how to craft them, like u talk about those jewels, bjt im so lost on how to get something similar, kts not as straight forward as TFD, which bothers me and i still want to try to get into the game..thanks

Ok you say to go Multiple Projectile/Scatter Shot on Lighting Rod. I can see the Scatter Shot support gem but I cannot for the life of me find anything on a Multiple Projectile support gem. Can you please clarify?
If the main reason for the ball lightning is the activation of rods then why do ypu need to level it at all? That way you dont need nearly as much int stack

There is a way easier way to trigger the rods. Use galvanic shards with chain support.Ball lightning is too much investment for a very little improvement over the shards.
@@mcarr416ix Secondary weapon set crossbow. Easy to qualify to use. I facerolled the game with that setup.Starts working very early game too. Started a mercenary version utilizing lightning rods now to see if that one is better.
@@mcarr416ix Yes. When i need a big burst of damage. Trash mobs bow will do.Just dedicate your basic attack to crossbow.Have galvanize rounds reload on skill bar. It would swap weapons automatically if you use any skill. The only disadvantage vs ball lightning you actually need to hit mobs with crossbow. Ball lightning triggers rods without actually hitting mobs.. SO much potential in crossbow/bow weapon swap builds.

i've played poe since original launch. what has always got me about GGG, why put a mechanic in the game if you don't really want it. Anyone who played poe1 knew the nerf to anything auto cast was coming. GGG does not like auto bomb mechanics, they should have just launched poe2 without them if they were just going to do this. now its just empty game code and unused.

I am level 70 and I got a level 9 and 22 ring. I got both my bows during playthrough at the vendor and the highest level item I got is level 46. Items do not drop. What should I do?
I know you like to cater to the cusp of 0.1% for the most part when making these but with all the changes because of it being Beta can you do a quick breakdown video on what you would recommend us to do as we level when to change builds and any tips and tricks through Story playthrough and going forwards? That stuff will likely stay the same for a while too. A lot of people search for those answers and none of the popular and worthwhile creators are making videos like that. Thanks for the videos.
maybe i am just to old to get this into my head but how do i get ball lightning into the "cast on Shock" and seperate to cast it by hand at the same time!! the moment i put it into cast on shock, the skill greys out in my skillbar! no matter how i try to set it up i can not have it both ways. either i put it into cast on shock or i can cast it by hand. i would really appreciate it if someone could show me how to set it up properly.

Not 100% sure but I believe all he did was add the divergence effect from poe to his armor.. One of few cosmetics currently compatible with poe 2

yall the passive attribute nodes are just used to keep up with gear and skill gem stat requirements
No. There are clear stat stacking passives in the tree. I have 4 toons now that use the Dex to attack speed per 15 passive. It is amazing.

I wish you would not swing your mouse around widely when showing gems, makes it difficult to pause and read what gems are named/what they do.

Hi @moxsy, how did you got 167 spirit? I've looked up the gear section and only saw a 37 spirit on your armour

Start a new character. Use your accrued stuff to twink it out until someone discovers a work around for sorc.

Don’t follow his setup. Respect to all attack damage/elemtal damaga on tree for the campaign depending on your bow
Just starting poe2. Sounds like i dodged a bullet of nerfs needing respec. I cant decide between this and the post nerf arc sorc people have posted.

What act 3 perma-buff do i pick for this build? Mana regen? Same question about act 6 whenever i reach that
Act 4/5/6 aren't out yet, in ea it's only 1/2/3 and then a harder form of those three until full release

maybe i am just to old to get this into my head but how do i get ball lightning into the "cast on Shock" and seperate to cast it by hand at the same time!! the moment i put it into cast on shock, the skill greys out in my skillbar! no matter how i try to set it up i can not have it both ways. either i put it into cast on shock or i can cast it by hand. i would really appreciate it if someone could show me how to set it up properly.
As far as I know you're only able to have it on one or the other so it has nothing to do with age (this time 😂)
Just get another gem. One goes into cast on shock and the other one you can equip to manual cast
