    This makes me want to try it and see if it’s helpful when I crochet. Right now, I’m rocking very powerful reading glasses which can be a bit much after a while.

    Them glasses with the magnification that you was showing in the video would work for me someday I pray and hope to have some.

      You’re very welcome, and as I always say, it’s important to try out all of these devices before you commit to buying one.

    Sam, another great video! I like how you tell it like it is...the good and the bad, about products. Some reviewers get companies to give them the products that they review, so their reviews aren’t always completely truthful.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried to be as honest as I can. I’ve even told companies that were giving me a free product that I wasn’t going to sugarcoat it!

    hAY bud, thanks for showing this. I didn't even know this existed. Good to hear someone else say they are past worrying about what someone thinks. I'd ware a 5 gallon bucket on my head if it would help me see better and wouldn't give a hoot what anyone else thought. Is there some way to communicate with you other than posting like this publicly? I can't tell you haw much I appreciate you doing what you're doing on here. There's so many thing out there I know I've never known were out there. Take care.

    Just wanted to share that recently the price on Jordy has gone down to $2,500; I was able to get a demo pair for $1500. I find it to be awesome for improving vision but have a few caveats: bulky and hard to use in some situations, difficulty with sub optimal lighting. Still pricey in my opinion but all VI tools seem to be, you could buy a lot of other main stream tech for that price that might also work for you.

    This device seems to Look Alot up bulky or than east side or the orcam . One thing I can say I really like about this device is a fact that it's a wearable device that can transform into a desktop magnifier as well price point would this be a cheaper alternative to the Oreck amouri site? It does look a little bulky on the face it almost looks like you took a camcorder and strapped it onto your face. The control box does look bulky itself but I do like the large tactile buttons. Thanks for sharing this with us can't wait to see the next video on this device.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a little bulky but, like you said, it’s probably the only device that can turn into a desktop magnifier.

    thank you for this...my dad has macular degeneration...is that what you have??? irisvision didn't seem to work for him...but I'm not sure if we were focusing it right. my dad is also a quadriplegic...so...while he can push larger buttons sometimes smaller ones can be more tricky...I would be beyond appreciative to hear what works for you. he has just suffered a lot. it would be amazing to have some eyesight back. thank you so much

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have a juvenile form of macular degeneration. The VR style devices like iris vision work the best for me. Once again, it just goes to show that even people with the same vision impairment may not prefer the same devices. Maybe you could try the new iris vision inspire, it has a remote control. Maybe your dad could use it more successfully.

    Hello Sam! thanks for these videos - as a non-blind person, I stumbled across this channel and the questions that popped to mind were ( apart from the awesomeness of these new devices, which is a given), what reactions are you getting from random people when you wear these/ do any think you are "secretly filming/doing something shady?", also I bet at some point there will be a civil rights case or something after someone decides to visit a cinema with this type of device.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately you’re going to get people staring at you no matter what. That happens even when I’m just using my magnifier. People see something out of the ordinary and they want to stare at it, it’s just human nature. You just try to not let it bother you. I have had people think I was videotaping them though when I was just using my cell phone camera to see something bar away. Situations like that I just explain to them what I’m doing and they are fine with it. As you said though, I’m sure someone will have a problem with it eventually.

    Hey if the jordy enhanced vision doesn't work. Does it mean that the nueyes, esight and etc will not work too?

    Thank you for sharing, I had a pair once and it didn’t work for me
    They are way too heavy, I wish the new model is a lot better
    For me it was a waste of time and money

  • @lmoore7227

    Is there a way to get a free trial, preferably in the home? If you buy one & don't like it, can you get a free return? I know that's been a problem with other models.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not entirely sure, you would have to contact enhanced vision and ask them.

    I am interested in glasses that appear clear but can magnify in and out. All of these gadgets appear to attract too much attention if I need to teach. Present day a conference, or just shopping. I am looking for something that will help me read documents, see computer screen, and use to see presentation screens, etc while blending in

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately that technology does not exist yet. Right now, the large bulky glasses are all that we have. You could check out cyber eyes trifecta. I’ll have a video coming out in about a month showing that.

  • @steffilinardo5052
    @steffilinardo5052 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    does this compete with esight and nueyes?

    • @steffilinardo5052
      @steffilinardo5052 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      which one is the better choice? esight vs nueyes vs jordy?

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is the same type of device as those others so, you could say it’s a competitor. Since everyone’s vision is different, I can’t really say which one is better. One might be better for me but not be the right choice for someone else. I always recommend trying them out if possible.

    • @theblindlife
      @theblindlife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not entirely sure but I do know they have two battery options. So if you want a larger battery you can get that. The one I was using was the larger battery version

      There’s actually a lot more to it than just your visual acuity which will determine if it will work for you. Also there is no way of me to know. I would recommend trying it to find out
