Hey Sam, good video review. Unfortunately for me my vision isn’t well enough to be able to use it but interesting to know that the features that it has and improvements that have been made. I was about to ask you about this issues for a PC and then you said the only thing that was left is your final thoughts on product well, you asked that question pretty clearly the lag time would not make it good for using with a PC or gaming which That would strike it from something that I might try it and that kind of situation to use but appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for another good review. Keep up the great work.
Very interested in this! My IrisVision Live (first edition) seems to be wearing out since I use it so much and have had it over four years. Thanks for the review!
Sam, what is the refresh rate like when using it to look around? As you look around, does it take extra time for the image to catch up to where you move your head/view?
Have you tried to use a video game consol with the vision cast? I'm thinking about using something like that to use my Steam Deck so I don't have to hold it to my face all the time.
Hi Sam, i was just wondering if you or any of your viewers know of any devices that could help me? I have RP but have lost most of my central vision and still have some peripheral vision, which means I can’t see when looking straight ahead, I have to move my eyes to see out the peripheral. Have you any insight into what could help?
I have the original IrisVision I got back in 2018 with the Samsung phone. This new updated device looks impression. Not sure if I like the idea of losing the controls on the side. Would like to know how others have adapted to that change?
If your vision is better than 20/200, then the inspire would probably be fine for you. Over 20/200, it’s no good at all and I would definitely recommend the live 2.0.
@@theblindlife one of my eyes is correctable to 20/200 but the other is not… So great advice, as always, Sam! Keep doing what you're doing.... One other thought… Have you use the Apple Pro Max at all? I'm thinking that might one day be an amazing product for us blind folks. All we really need is magnification and brightness! Thoughts?
Since they no longer make the first version of IrisVision Live, if I were to need a new wearable headset, would you recommend this one or another wearable like Patriot?
Only a App on an old Smartphone in a old Samsung Gear VR (or other "Google Cardboard", Gear VR used, perhaps 10 dollars on ebay etc.). What about the other IrisVision glasses that look like sunglasses?
Hey Sam! Thank you for your videos. It helps me so much. I have a question. You made many reviews on the channel but still there no review about one of the top glasses for VIP. I mean IrisVision Inspire. I watched reviews on other channels but I'm interested in your opinion and how does it work for you? I can't just go to some office and try it because there is no distributor in my country and I just can to buy and ship it. I did it with previous glasses that works for you and it works for me too) So, I want to know your opinion to be sure that there are more persents of probability that the device will work for me or not)
I bought the Irisvision Inspire. I paid $3995’00. I received the unit on June 3, 2024. TODATI was infirn[med by Irisvision they have discontinued the Inspire. Currently there are no Plans for updates or improvements to the Insoire. When I received the unit it came with a very cheap charger that took about 4 hours to charge. Plugging it in directly takes about 3 hours. The charger was fluff as far as I am concerned. They stopped production on the ear looops/pieces they were not included. Iveralll I am not happy knowing I spent almost $4K for an obsolete unit. I am now waiting for a call back from someone in authority. Woe is me😎
I wish they'd do nightvision on it. As a person with RP and having several children with RP seeing in low light or at night is super impossible. Of this device would do night vision so we could navigate to a vehicle or see if someone is outside it would be awesome! Also, if that vox would hook to the TV and display whatever is on the TV I could watch movies at tye same time as mu household. Is there any sort of program that could help make this affordable for a one income camily?
I’ve had this Iris product. In my humble opinion, the technology is not up to the task for long-term use-the battery life is very short. The phone tech and software quality needs to be updated or not so sensitive. There is too many little issues to deal with for it to be worth Using or paying the money for. Mine was well over $2400 and unfortunately I did not find it at all functional. I would not recommend this product for people who want to read a newspaper. It’s also very compassing and as I said, sensitive and breaks easily.the people at Iris vision should consider upping their game. With the technology that is out there today - one is better off just working with your iPhone. Not a really great product for the community.
hi Sam, thanks for all you do, I have MS and I have a 3 1/2° difference between each eye making my vision 7° off. I have tried other wearable devices unsuccessfully. Maybe somebody here will have an idea on what I can do. I am a big iPhone Apple guy thanks. 3:08
It isn't obvious to me the value of this device for me. Lots of functionality is already available to me via accessibility apps on my phone. And those apps are of no additional cost to me. I've already paid for the phone for all it's myriad other uses. ANd then there is the weirdness of having the headset strapped to my head for some inexplicable reason. I'm sure this device costs a bit. How does it interact with eye glasses? I'm aphakic, so my prescription is insane and I doubt any attempt to accomodate it would not be successful.
To be honest, I'd rather just have the phone without the reprogramming. If the headset could still be recognized by the phone, then I could dev apps for it just like any other Android, and it could employ Google's Lookout app, which has a fairly decent explore mode. As it stands, this tech isn't really applicable to full blind users like myself.
It is absolutely insane to me that this costs over $3K. What an absolute grift. I have three high end fully featured VR headsets and they don't even cost that much combined.
Hi Sam, I have a story to share with you about Irisvision. It should play out this week and I think it will be in my favor based on their last email to me. I’ll look for your email address and share it there. You can decide what you want to do with this. Stay tuned. 😎
Hey Sam. Thanks for the vid. All the wearable tech coming out is awesome.
Sam, how much is this product? Can the device be helpful for any stage of RP?

Thank you Pam for your kind words.
Thanks, Sam! Awesome review. I’m really impressed with the device. I hope the overall quality and other issues improve in future versions.

Great vedio!
Hi Sam Thanks for the review I am new here and I think all tour videos are great. How much does it cost.
🎉🎉🎉 love it. I wonder if it’s worth the upgrade.
Do you have to take the phone in and out of the device every time in order to power the device on and off?

I have RP or night blindness I wonder if it’s work
I like Pixel phones. Curious if the user has full access to the Android OS, or if it's locked down.
Sam, you're the man! One question… Overall would you recommend the Live 2.0or the Inspire model?

👍keeping it real, dawg.
I would agree plus not sure if it still works even if you have vertigo and get sissy easily.
oh and can a computer be connected to the visioncast?

Man this seems pretty great for me and many at the lighthouse in San Bernardino

What is the maximum zoom of this unit? 12 times?
I worked with IrisVersion on the menue graphics
What if you only have vision in one eye?

Hi. Is this device applicable to a person with subnormal vision/ macular de generation?

Thank you for the video. I have one eye, so why bother with the other screen :)

This or eSight GO?
Thanks for the review. Unfortunately, Iris is still producing - Inflated Promises, Ridiculous Prices, Subpar Results. 🤣 thats I.R.I.S 🤪🤣

No IOS comparability?
Hmmmm they took a page from vision buddy......
Hi sam... I wish i can grow like ur beard.. but mine grown a weird way.😂

looks like something out of star trek.
Is it just me or is it weird to see Sam in a white T-shirt… Lol
