In about 96 the CD section became bigger than the vinyl section in my local shop. I went in to get a needle and he just gave me the whole box. He said nobody else is going to buy them.

I am 53 and i enjoy New music the same as i am 13 again. Vynil was not always easy to get but i was happy with cassettes too, we had great radio shows on Radio Zagreb back in 80s,they played the whole album without commercials, so i had great opportunity to tape down great albums by JOY DIVISION, THE JAM, RAMONES, BLUE OYSTER CULT, STRANGLERS, i miss those days, there was not so much music like today, so i could absorb the album properly. Nowdays, every thing is easy to find and liste to, it's a little bit less exciting, but i love it

@ Đanfranko Geza Martinčić: I agree. Music today is almost too accessible. There’s an over-saturation via the internet which dampens a little of the excitement and mystique of discovering something new.

Hey Henry, these videos are GREAT, please keep going! I've never been a huge fan of the tunes but you clearly care a lot about music and I've really been enjoying all of these. Also, punk fans take notice: these guys like The Beatles and other stuff punks supposedly rebelled against...it's okay to like classic rock, you won't lose your cred.

Outstanding interview Henry, Heartfelt takeaway from Larry: Celebrating a milestone birthday buying a high end audiophile hi-fi. Now every record I own gives me a new gift of listening. Heartfelt takeaway from Henry: “That pile of records I promise to listen to”, ..”Amount of records and sheer mortality” .... the idea haunts me, yet it is a great point of discussion.

The other side of the analog vinyl thing is the mastering and levels put on digital music really crush the music. Love the show.

Henry should do 20 Buck Spin. Same idea. Dedicated to vinyl, putting stuff out that he likes, and takes gambles on bands while treating them really fairly.

kinda funny hearing rollins talk about having modest ambitions re: book publishing. He handles Get In The Van himself and it's always out of print shortly after each new pressing. would seem he's leaving money on the table. my only guess is he's doing small batches in fear of being stuck with more than he can store, but the demand seems pretty high

Question I'd like to see Hank pose to one of these label owners would be re: mastering for vinyl vs. for digital...I'm told it's different? Curious. Thanks for this series.

The most amazing thing about Henry Rollins is that he made a living in show business by becoming an angry gym teacher with a microphone. That's all there is to him. A talentless, bitter old man pretending to be the height of non conformity 30+ years ago - is today the height of conformity.
