I had just graduates high-school in 2007 and working at a smasclub I was on my mom's Verizon account but paying my share of the bill and when the lg dare came out I gave her the money and had her order it for me with shipping I paid just over $500 for it i remember my mom saying I was crazy for paying that for a phone then said it's the size of a deck of cards that phone is huge it's comical to look back at it now and how much bigger and expensive phones are
4:59 still have my Siemens M55, and it still powers on. There are red lights on either side of the phone and they blinked in a, almost police lights flashing pattern when you got a message. Remember that they were pretty bright and you could see them through your jeans.
Conect a powersupply with the same voltage to the correct battery terminals on the phone (or sandwich them between the battery and phone) to give them juice to power them on. Battery usually dies before the phone. Used the method a couple of times
4:27 well thats true maybe in USA but in Europe we still have physical SIM cards and probably gonna have for a while. Mainly because they are more reliable than E-SIMs. And also E-SIMs can technically be hacked to have free connection with right kind of modification to the system.
The Palm Pre is the reason we have swipe to erase an app among other things. I loved my Pre and if it launched on allllllll carriers instead of just sprint, It would have had a better chance to be a 3rd option
Oh god the Reclaim 🤢 I had one of those for years before I got an iPhone 4s. I had just broken my LG Rumor and made the MASSIVE mistake of getting that thing, god it sucked so much compared to the Rumor.
The Nokia 1600 was my mom's first colour screen phone. I have fond memories of playing the games. It had Soccer, Snake Xenzia (The good one imo) and Rapid Roll. Soccer had a league you could play in. I think it was 20 matches to the Final Cup. Things have come full circle as I'm a game dev now and I am remaking Rapid Roll (DX) for Android, Linux, Windows and Web. Coming soon :D
That Nokia is a 1600b, where the "b" means it's an American model, not an European/international one. The international 1600 has a sort of transparent glass looking design on the keypad, while on the 1600b it's all opaque. Don't know why they did that.
The question you asked about the first phone that Moto hint or whatever, that one blew my mind because I had the literal sideways qwerty slide version of that phone called the Moto Rival and it was my first phone ever in 2009. It was so unique inside out and was only half touchscreen, half buttons. You have to look it up lol
that would be an awesome idea! I’ve thought about it - but then people may be upset to receive a phone which was donated to the thrift store already.. these came from a thrift store
Out of all of these phones, the only one I had was the Samsung Reclaim. I hated that phone for texting. The buttons are too small for my fingers. It used to overheat if you were on a call for an extended amount of time.
