It's been years of searching owners with the same problem. Mine is a '01 Explorer Sport and there are some really crazy clanks in the back + the frame moving around a little when going bumps. Hopefully I will show this to my master mechanic and come up with a solution with rubber from other kits & trucks. Thank you!
I used liquid polyurethane…..cleaned out foam…taped around body mounts….raised body with jack 1/2 inch. Poured in liquid poly…and let dry 5 days ..new body mounts. 5 mins …25 dollars each 3M cartridge takes about 6
I love urethane for street duty, but never flexes enough on my trail rigs. Whats good for one isn't always for the other. Also, use tons of ventilation when welding zinc plated stuff, or soak it overnight in vinegar to remove it the coating first. Those fumes do bad things to your body.
While these bushings are not designed to give lift, I did see around 1/4 lift. I believe part of that is from the old bushing having deteriorated so much.
I replaced my group B and C bushings and found the truck was sitting higher than before. My A and D group bushings were in great shape for an '04. It definitely helps not living in a Yankee state that salts their roads. Thanks Mr. Rooster for posting DIY videos for one of the best trucks ever made....and then discontinued!
Hey rooster... come help me switch my body mounts.... I'm in Ohio. I just turned 51 on the 8th and I've always done my own work because for one I've never had a man I could depend on and for two I'm the brokest b**** I know I am really struggling getting the bolts off I'm not even going to tell you how long I've been working on it I've been doing other things too but these body mounts are kicking my ass

Yeah cab noise from your tires 🛞 just depending on what tire you want and need. Big ol off-road ones are going to be louder than passenger ones.

Did these bushings actually give a lift to the body? Or just replace the OEM bushing?
