Just wanted to thank you, I am learning. Uploading was trouble but I did it, then I had lots of typos so I redid it. Now it's up and I like it but I will upload again cause I saw more typos. Canva is Ok, I like it for the journals and low content, not sure it was the best choice for my book but I did it and am happy! Your videos have really helped!

When in the video you say that (8:47), in addition to the keywords that we find with the AMZ Suggestion extension, we must combine them with the Publisher Rocket searches and then choose between the ones that have the most searches per month and the least competition, those two values where they are taken from ? would it be the second and third column of the excel? thank you
Listening again..very helpful. Sadly, Publisher Rocket is now $97 for a one time fee. Too much for beginners. I am in my 6th month of a 6 month experiment but going to push on for another couple of month

When I'm doing a research, Let's say "Teachers Planner". The results in "Books" and "All Department" are different. Books showing 70,000 while All Dept showing 2000 (smaller). Quite large of difference. Isn't that supposed to be the other way around?

I need some information about the parameters to be taken into account for the profitability of keywords 1) how many self-publishers must have published on the same keyword? 2) how many publishers maximum must have published on the same keyword? 3) how many gurus maximum must be present? 4) and of how many reviews is a guru? 5) how many publications in the last 30 days must be present?
The information that is really on relevant is in this video. All you need to be mainly concerned with is the number of search results to give you an idea of competitors and, if you use a keyword tool, the number of searches for a particular keyword. I don;t have the ansers to your questions because that's not data I use.

Yes you ignore non books. You are looking to see if books in your niche are making a sale to see if there’s a market for the book you’re going to create.
Thanks for all of your videos, I’m a regular viewer and find your videos the easiest to follow. I did have one clarifying question in regards to Keywords, so theoretically do you need to use short/long tail phrases when filling in your keywords? For example, do you need to keep putting “gifts for mom, gifts for co workers, gifts for….” Or does having “gifts for…” once and including the “fors” either in a list or in other places suffice? Etc. Thank you for this info. My kids and I have published a book with more on the way and every little bit of information helps. I’ve tried giving free books away in a drawing to hopefully get reviews and raise our ranking. I’ve had trouble getting people to actually follow through despite my efforts and own expense of printing and shipping. Does Amazon filter out reviews? Some have said they’ve submitted one but my number of reviews aren’t changing.
I get the logic of not including keywords that are in titles or subtitles. Can I ask for one clarification? If text is included as part of any image file that is uploaded for a cover, then that text would not be readable by the KDP checking process, so I assume this means the titles/subtitles you type into the 'form' as part of the upload process are the ones you do not need to re-enter as keywords.

Hello Mr. Paul, How are you, one question, in what order do you recommend me to watch the videos, is that there are many and sometimes I get lost, and what I do not want is to see a video, and then see another that I should have seen before a special one, I hope you understand what I mean, and thank you very much for your help and content, it is really good. Question for my son: if his fiction is based on a character that already exists - like a story of him meeting and having an adventure with Mickey Mouse --- is the considered a copyright infringement or is that allowed? He said it's called fan fiction but I wouldn't really know.
You would need to contact a legal professional for that advice. I wouldn't know for certain. It's a very grey area and personally I would avoid anything to do with Disney characters as they are known to pursue copyright and trademark infringements.
I did a lot of research and made a high-quality cursive book for kids, made every page from scratch on my own ( I'm a graphic designer) and ran an ad as well, but only have sales from other media accounts (friends and family buying it for their kids) after many months. Could you point me in the direction of which video would help the most to increase sales?

Thank you very much for creating this. Have found your insights very helpful. Have created a spreadsheet with keywords and search results on Amazon Kindle. One question, though. How do I know that low competition isn't just because nobody is interested in that topic? For example, I typed in words like "Hellenistic Age" and "Classical Age" and got low competition numbers. But how do I know that's not just because no one on Earth is interested in the Hellenistic Age or the Classical Age?
I'm sure in those examples that would likely be the case. You could only find that out definiteively by using paid tools such as Publisher Rocket or Helium 10 that would give you an estimate of the actual monthly search numbers on Amazon.
Thanks again Mr Paul. And Is it possible to use the same cover with change in title and content such as one cover for planner and journal at the same time?
One more question: So now I've changed all my keyword phrases based on your algorithm. It seems like the next step should be to wait a few weeks then see if my books show up when keywords searched with my selected phrases, and if so, what page it's on. Do you have any recommendations for the best way to go about that, and what an inadequate response looks like that would make me want to rethink a specific keyword phrase? It seems like just picking the perfect keyword phrases does not guarantee they'll show up on the first page.
Nothing guarantees that but you can only put your books in the best position to work with the search algorithm. Are you wanting suggestions for a ranking tool? I currently use the rank tracking Helium 10 module. There are others if you do a Google search.
I have a question about the apostrophe in 'Children's books'. Do people search on Amazon by 'Childrens books' or 'Children's books'? Or is it both? Thank you

Hello , you make very clear and informative videos and your videos have convinced me to give publishing books on Amazon KDP a try. I am new to all this. I have no Instagram followers, no Facebook followers, no mailing list, nothing like that but I have some experience in graphic design so I find it fairly easy to make books. What do you think I need to do to start making 300 dollars a month on KDP? How long do you think it will take to achieve this in your estimation (2years, 3 years)?
I t does an ok job. I think Publisher Rocket and Helium 10 are better for keyword research. However, bookbolt is great for niche research and fnding trending niches. And has some other useful features like interiors and cover design tools.

I’ve had trouble getting people to actually follow through despite my efforts and own expense of printing and shipping. Does Amazon filter out reviews? Some have said they’ve submitted one but my number of reviews aren’t changing.
I think they may filter reviews if they don’t think they are obtained naturally. I know Amazon has been trying to clamp down on them.

I get the logic of not including keywords that are in titles or subtitles. Can I ask for one clarification?
If text is included as part of any image file that is uploaded for a cover, then that text would not be readable by the KDP checking process, so I assume this means the titles/subtitles you type into the 'form' as part of the upload process are the ones you do not need to re-enter as keywords.

Question for my son: if his fiction is based on a character that already exists - like a story of him meeting and having an adventure with Mickey Mouse --- is the considered a copyright infringement or is that allowed? He said it's called fan fiction but I wouldn't really know.
You would need to contact a legal professional for that advice. I wouldn't know for certain. It's a very grey area and personally I would avoid anything to do with Disney characters as they are known to pursue copyright and trademark infringements.
I did a lot of research and made a high-quality cursive book for kids, made every page from scratch on my own ( I'm a graphic designer) and ran an ad as well, but only have sales from other media accounts (friends and family buying it for their kids) after many months. Could you point me in the direction of which video would help the most to increase sales?
It depends where the issue is. -? Keywords, cover design, price etc. There are many factors to getting sales.

How do I know that low competition isn't just because nobody is interested in that topic? For example, I typed in words like "Hellenistic Age" and "Classical Age" and got low competition numbers. But how do I know that's not just because no one on Earth is interested in the Hellenistic Age or the Classical Age?

I'm sure in those examples that would likely be the case. You could only find that out definiteively by using paid tools such as Publisher Rocket or Helium 10 that would give you an estimate of the actual monthly search numbers on Amazon.

One more question: So now I've changed all my keyword phrases based on your algorithm. It seems like the next step should be to wait a few weeks then see if my books show up when keywords searched with my selected phrases, and if so, what page it's on. Do you have any recommendations for the best way to go about that, and what an inadequate response looks like that would make me want to rethink a specific keyword phrase? It seems like just picking the perfect keyword phrases does not guarantee they'll show up on the first page.
Nothing guarantees that but you can only put your books in the best position to work with the search algorithm. Are you wanting suggestions for a ranking tool? I currently use the rank tracking Helium 10 module. There are others if you do a Google search.
I have a question about the apostrophe in 'Children's books'. Do people search on Amazon by 'Childrens books' or 'Children's books'? Or is it both?

Hello , you make very clear and informative videos and your videos have convinced me to give publishing books on Amazon KDP a try. I am new to all this. I have no Instagram followers, no Facebook followers, no mailing list, nothing like that but I have some experience in graphic design so I find it fairly easy to make books. What do you think I need to do to start making 300 dollars a month on KDP? How long do you think it will take to achieve this in your estimation (2years, 3 years)?
You need to start publishing books for a start and then continuing publishing. How quickly you reach your goal depends on how hard you work.
Can you comment on the bookbolt keyword tool - does it work in the same way as publisher rocket and H10?
I t does an ok job. I think Publisher Rocket and Helium 10 are better for keyword research. However, bookbolt is great for niche research and fnding trending niches. And has some other useful features like interiors and cover design tools.

I have a question: I place a lot of care in choosing keywords for my paperbacks. Why, once they are approved, they are shown in categories completely unrelated or not even close to the chosen keywords I have picked???? some of those categories do not even make one ounce of sense to me.
