Just learning guitar, I have loved Einaudi for years. When I used to play my daughter this and Chasing cars, (snow patrol), she said it was our music. So I have just youtube'd this and your playing is inspirational. nice.
I ordered the music from you a while ago and two of my daughter's friends played this when she walked down the aisle to get married. Lovely music and a lovely memory.
What i can say...just bravo!!!! I love this song...and your version is fantastic, i can't stop listening that...and u play this in a so lovely way! Cheers from Italy....and thanks! ;-)
Hi Les, this is a wonderful piece of music and you play it very intense and touching. Thanks for sharing and the inspiration. Will try this tuning also. Roland
Wow, I'm speechless!!! I'm also a musician and Ludovico Einaudi is one of my big idols. I love Due Tramonti and your arrangement for guitar! Good job, very good job! It sounds just beautiful! Thank you so much for this video : )
Nice playing, once again ! I had a look on your site and was surprised you're not talking of this McIlroy guitar ! She surely worth a good place there !
+Les Cheetham Thanks Les I'll check that out. I love your guitar arrangements for piano pieces. I'm trying to arrange a 'Mitch and Abbey' piano piece by Dave Grusin at the moment. All but done but I'm finding some parts of the timing difficult. Best to you. John.
soo awesome cover...there are just few people here who covers his songs bz guitar...i wish u so much enthusiasm and patience to make another cover..oltremare for example or nuvole bianco:) ..
im not suprised that looks really difficult to play let alone figure out! but that is incredible how you can make it your own it's really really good! :)
First of all, awesome. Well played. Just amazing. Let me tell you how I found this recording. Due Tramonti (Two sunsets) is a song that I discovered by accident and I played it for my fiancé in the beginning of our relationship and it has become our theme song. She even learned to play it on piano. So tonight, on a whim, I said to Jenni: I wonder if anyone has learned this on guitar..." And we both said: "no way. That's impossible!" So then we googled it. Thanks buddy. This is our second favorite song ever.
Thanks for your kind words! I found this tune by accident too - years ago I was taking my daughter to tennis coaching and the only radio station that my phone would pick up was Classic FM. This was played one day and I'd never heard of Einaudi. I thought immediately that it was a stunning composition!
This is actually the only tune that I play in this tuning, I used it because it was the only way to get all of the notes in fluently! Antonio Forcione does a great version of "Heard It Through The Grapevine" in a similar tuning (the low E is a D instead of an F)
To tune to F A D G C E with a standard guitar tuner play the 4th fret on the low (thickest) E and tune it up until it reads as an A note. Then play the 4th fret on the B string and tune that up until it reads as an E note. You can also tune by ear. Play the low E then play the first fret. Try to keep the sound of the F note in your head as you tune up a semi-tone. Do exactly the same with the B string. Les.
@hteeka Thanks fo your comment, Seth. The tuning is F A D G C E. A strange one, but it's the only one that worked through the whole tune. I think that Dermot's guitars are fantastic. I've played a fair few and every one has sounded excellent. They really are worth checking out.
Beautiful piece. I didn't know anyone else used FADGCE--could you point me in the direction of other people using it? I have one piece using it on my channel or whatever its called.
Thanks for your comment. I take the MP3 that's recorded on my laptopat the same time as the video and import it, along with the video into Windows Movie Maker. I then use a bit of trial and error, trimming the start point of the new audio until the notes match my fingers! You have to make sure that the audio level in the tools menu is set to 100% "Audio Music" so that you can't hear the audio from the video camera when you've aligned everything.
@GerritGuitar Thanks for your comment. The tab is available from a link on the Tab page on my website. The address is on the left hand side of my channel page and at the end of the tune description.
Come on fella, do me a favour will you? Isn't it bad enough that I can't play this on the piano, now you have to piss me off with a superb guitar rendition that I have an equally insufficient chance of learning. Not cool, dude, post a penny whistle version, give me a chance.
Beautiful...stunning. The 3 dislikes have to be from people who, tragically, are deaf. I pity them being unable to appreciate this gorgeousness.
Amazing, just amazingly beautiful. Thank you for posting this.
One of my favorite songs lately, and you crushed it on the guitar!
sounds absolutely perfect. ludovico himself would be proud and amazed
What a wonderful arrangement ! Glad that I found you.

Beautiful. The bottom string sounds like a fretless bass guitar
This is actually the only tune that I play in this tuning, I used it because it was the only way to get all of the notes in fluently!
