if you wonder what happens with the boat when it fills it goes to a port and it unloads in a truck and heads to in an inceneration plant and waste is combusted and turns into energy
Really different set-ups in Italy, the hoppers tend to be so elevated. Pretty mean overlooking view of the truck around 8:30, showed everything we wanted to see. Cool how the packer travels almost horizontally =] Water collection at the very end was neat; love how the bottom opens up the way it does.
Nice video, you have been to Genoa, Rapallo and finally Venice, beautiful cities ... at 1:39 is a Rossi Oleodinamica R108 (built in Rimini, RN, Emilia Romagna, Italy) of the waste collection company AMIU of Genoa. The R108s are small but excellent, in Italy we have many difficult roads especially in the city centers. In the company I work for, we collect paper and cardboard, we also had an R108 I liked working on it. But by collecting only cardboard, unfortunately they were filled immediately, instead of mixed paper and cardboard, you could even load 700 kg. Thanks for filming it. Greetings from Turin, Piedmont, Italy ... good job everyone !!
The above shot was awesome; the packer on this is so weird but I guess it's pretty safe lol can't really get crushed on the ground! Awesome series so far!
***** turning the corner and seeing that was awesome, because the dumpsters there are really similar to the carts they use in the video and I couldn't figure out how the hell they were collected. thanks for the comment!
Nice job, my favorite of the series. I really like those little top pack rear loaders. The only annoying this is you can't really see the inner workings, but the shot at 7:12 too care of that lol. The barge was really cool too, looks to work really well. Are the carts wheeled around by hand?
oh wow this whole video was the best, but that trash boat was my favorite...works so smoothly and it had me laughing because of that. obviously I've yet to go to Venice, as that system looks like it's been in place forever. is there a compactor for the larger boat-mounted bin? it looks like that area near the opening would fill up too quickly without one, so it must have....something
***** the box is essentially a self-compacting unit like in the US, but the packer is inside the body and not in a little hopper like on the roll-off units here. It's then removed like a POD and shipped to the mainland by train

the white bins fit the paper a lot
yeah

Nice video Tony. They have some interesting rear loaders.
7:12 thats a weird packer
Yeah, they're pretty cool. Yep, workers wheel them around the little streets and bring them over to the barge when they're full.
great video! like that thing with the crane.
Anyone came to this video after the fight between Giorno and Ciocoratta?
Yes to find this kind of comment

+WasteManTony is there any compaction in the garbage boat body?
