Cool video Nick! It was cool to see how your experience went with ordering custom skates from CCM. Seems like you were pretty happy with what you got for your money once you finalized things with the last few tweaks you did with the sole and steel. Hope you enjoy your new skates buddy!
Um. Okay: photos.app.goo.gl/Lv692exv3MHSAXZf9 My foot overhangs the footbed of an x900 2e 9.5 skate by a full inch. It's only a size 8 too. Wear a 10 4e shoe... I am in True now cause nothing else works.
Holy smokes Nick ;) Thanks for this. I'm completely with you on the personalization. You know it's there even if nobody else can see it. And your thank you letter idea is the kind of thing that gets you hired by a skate company. Good stuff man!
Hey thanks a lot. It was quite the experience to go through and I thought it would be good to do a video on it so people thinking about going custom can see what CCM has to offer.
Have an ETA for AS3 Goalie Total Custom Pro of Jan 26. Going to be 8.5 custom width (EEE) and a deeper boot cut for my tall instep. The small store I went to (mainly went as I knew a goalie coach/friend I've worked with who worked there) was brand new to CCM 3d scanner system, so I just had some things that worried me. I bought up my concerns with my scan experience to the manager/owner due to that and he managed to snag the local CCM rep to redo it today. But, I got over $100 off the price due to my friend working there 😀.
@@CraigTemple Nothing. I just tried my new Trues and they were not wide enough it seems like. Ugh, no big and tall section in hockey gear. I've only managed to get True to somewhat work, but not %100 and still experience a lot of pain.
@@MapleLeafUpGoaltending Wild! How can the fully custom skates not be wide enough? Do you think this was the scanning/fitting process or does True just not really build for the foot that’s scanned? I have an appt this week for a True fitting, but now I’m not sure I’ll bother.
Hey Nick! I know it's been awhile, but do you remember what profile you got on your blades? I'm having the same issue. Coming from Bauer 3S Pros and going into the ft2 is a big difference
I am booked to get scanned tomorrow at Noon cause I am flustered by my experience with True. I have a long history of skates not fitting my stupid feet due to being 3 to 4 e in width with high instep. Even my first pair of True didn't accommodate my foot. Second pair more tolerable but I've been soldiering on with them for like 2 years now as they still hurt.
@@NickTheGoalie_1 I am still working with the store I went to on it. I am pretty sure I will have total custom plus as3 by the end of it. I honestly couldn't get my foot into a stock as3 man. My instep just jammed on the toe cap. I make Travis comment void about you having big feet. photos.app.goo.gl/n3DiuGZhTvPN5Fad9
@@MapleLeafUpGoaltending What did you wind up going with? My 12yo all-leather and felt Grafs (with bauer one100 bottoms bolted on) are getting old, but they are the comfiest skates I've ever put on my 4E hobbit feet.
When I grow up, I wanna have custom skates too. My feet always hurt with my Bauer 3s pros. I also have gout and plantar fasciitis in my feet, so I’m constantly switching my weight from right to left between plays.
I was doing the exact same thing in my Bauer 1.9’s. It still hurts a little bit in these custom ones at times but I’m still breaking them in so I’m not worried.
Great video!! Thanks for sharing this!! I had the lace lock on my first pair of ccm's and I miss them everytime I lace up my tacks! And, the ladies love a thick tongue... just saying lol!!

Thanks buddy glad you liked it! Still need to get my blade profiled but I’m super excited to play more games in these skates!
Dudes got HUGEEEEEE toes
Biggest toes in the game

Had to sell my set due to covid and I miss them so much. Best skates I've ever worn
Sorry you had to sell them 🙁

Yeah I’ve heard mixed reviews with the true skates. Are you going CCM?

My favorite goalie skates are if I can get some with the caling on them
Yeah those are getting harder and harder to find now days
did you still have to bake them?
Yes I still had to bake them
Why CCM and not bauer or true? CCM is probably the least known for custom goalie skayes
