I did not realise the gore/body effect ... thanks. To boost immersion, try playing without all the small health bars over every monster, pet etc, also the numerical damage output. The game looks so much better and you still have the large bar at the top of the screen to see progress vs the bosses and tough opponents. If you want to check some specific damage you can always turn on temporarily while you test vs the dummies.
Glad i helped you. Regarding the health bars I actually prefer them on to quickly see enemy health to know if one is near death. Very useful for bosses and groups of tough enemies. Weirdly, I like the damage numbers being on top, but a bit like subtitles in films and anime, I don't actually notice them. But now you have pointed it out...haha
Nice one :) I discovered your channel a while back during your first Pillars of Eternity stream (my favorite game of all time), but thanks to your coverage of Grim Dawn I've decided to give it a go and play it. Currently lvl 48 I think, having a blast :)
Well, silly me. Now that I know there can be a "pick" button, I realised there's also a "Walk" button. No longer will I click on enemies and die when trying to run away. Thanks man!
Holy hell, pickup key and the map size helped. The latter bugged the living hell out of me, being used to PoE's new overlay map (which GD still needs to adapt, like seriously).
Straight to the point and good advice, well done! A question about the build you are playing in the background: are those orbiting orbs from Eye of the Guardian constellation? I didn't know they could change color, since there isn't a MI with a specific modifier for them :o
I want the map centered as an overlay like in Path of Exile, but this doesn't work. I tried several keybindings and there's a sound when I press it, but the map remains stuck in the corner.
WAit a minute where do you fight dinosaurs?? I've played this game casually since it first had a playable build on the website, but I only beat Loghorrean a couple days ago. Which DLC has the dinos??
Irrelevant to the content but.. I just started playing GD with primal strike, what is that lightning aoe that keeps proccing around your character? And what’s that second skill in your hotbar?
Welcome to GD! So my passive abilities are; Mogdrogens Pact (Shaman Tree), Stormcallers Aura (Granted by an item), Stormcallers Pact (Shaman Tree), Whirling Blades (Granted by Item) and Field Command (Soldier Tree). The 2nd skill is Storm Totem from the shaman tree. I am experimenting with other Primal Strike options right now too where I do not use the totems. I hope to make a video about this all soon. Hope this helps.
How the hell do I get to the second part of the maps in Grim Dawn and the city of Gloomwald, I saw that this guy Inquisitor Creed should give me quest but it doesn't??
After you kill Log, hand the quest in and then Creed will give you a quest after a cut scene. His dialogue may need navigating though as I think it's not the top options.
@@BaamGames If any NPC close to you and when see you and walk to you, he auto attack LMB, i used this the old Dungeon Siege 2, make walkthrougt more light, and focus more adm the spells
Honestly unsure if I like that as it takes some interaction away from me the player. I understand more on DS2 due to party management and auto attack helping, buy with a single character on screen I am not sure.
turning off gore does not make sense. if your build is actively harmed by having the gore option on, its probably a bug, or just find a different built. turning off camera shake removes the fun from attacking. auto loot materials i leave on. i dont use them anyway... binding loot pickup seems like a bad idea. i do want to actually pick and choose what i pick up.
Gore having an effect on the games outcome is a bit odd, and perhaps classed as a bug, but it genuinely helps a few builds. In a game that is all about finding those last 1 or 2% of dps, this can matter if you wish to seek it. Camera shake just annoys me in any game, as does motion blur, so this always gets turned off. I use the loot filter to see what I am likely to want a brief trip to a vendor confirms this, or I make some iron in the process.
All of these seem so needed and basic, and I've been using NONE of these. Extremely helpful.

Learning the walk button as ranged is great as it stops you running in needlessly when you don't want too
Nice one - keep the great Grim Dawn content coming 👍
Thanks dude
The game has an in game clock. Click the circle above your level
It does indeed, and that is not stated anywhere!
Also you can zoom the map in and out when you have it pulled up and it stays at the zoom you leave it at
@@enigma9273 you can, but oddly on multiplayer the map has a few issues with zooming and ayer location. Won't affect a lot of people though.
@@BaamGames
interesting. ill give that a shot next time i need help smashing the spirit of mogdrogain
This is a cool little feature. I wish more games did this. Being able to glance over and see the time on the screen im playing on is neat.
Ty bro! Amazing, i didnt know about the pickup button! Life changing mecanic…
You're very welcome dude!
Great tips, just started Grim Dawn.
Click the round thing above your level indicator to get the clock at the top of the screen, you need to do this every time you play.
Haha I knew everything in the video but this is something I didn't know. I always wondered why there wasn't an in game clock option. Thanks man.
Nice video dude! Short, sweet and informative!
Just like me then? Although that would be average, creepy and dumb lol
@@BaamGames beautiful, funny and sexy 😉
@@CaptainNoodle haha yea, something like that lol
thanks mate .... playin bloody pox but still wanna have gore though .... style > dps ... everything else i used so thanks a lot
Fair mate. There is a noticeable dps increase with gore off, but it's not night and day.
Holy hell, pickup key and the map size helped. The latter bugged the living hell out of me, being used to PoE's new overlay map (which GD still needs to adapt, like seriously).
I agree a map overlay would be ideal - even Torchlight has that! Glad I helped a bit. :)

Never mind, I've checked your grimtools from another of your videos, and I've understood it's from the rings.
Sorry for late reply mate. Thanks for kind comments, and you're right about the rings...the rings that gave me ptsd to get!

what build is that? looks fun
Warder. Solider and Shaman. Check out my video on it if you're interested.
@@BaamGames thank you
Great video!
Thanks dude. I am trying to keep them snappy - but maybe this was too snappy?
What skill(s) are you using here? The lightning stuff looked amazing.
Mainly primal strike. I did a recent video on this character, explaining some of the build.

i tried to bind the Pickup Nearest Item key to ~ because its right next to 1 but it doesnt work for some reason. :(
Oh thats odd. Does binding another key work?
@@BaamGames idk what i did wrong the first time but it works now. thanks for the follow up :)
The minimap WTF after playing for a year
Haha. Remember it's per character too!
I don't see Auto loot just an Autoloot Radius option
Ahh sorry. I have my auto loot bound to R, so I tap R when everything is on the floor around me and my character runs around picking it all up.
The hide loot hotkey!
Nice, one mod i still waiting is the auto defense, It could help a lot of clicks,
What would that mod do? Trigger abilities?

how bout the loot?
The loot filter? It's dependent on the build so covered in other videos rather than a constant setting to change
Corpse persistence low.
Muy bien.
