There are DEFINITELY trout in the Shoshone River above the bridge and below the dam. In summer, fish a larger (hi-vis) foam hopper or chernobyl off 7 feet of 3x. Then add two BH droppers. First one will be a Sz 12 or 14 BH pheasant tail or caddis emerger off 18 inches of 4x. Then drop a Sz 18 Copper john or Zebra midge off 18 more inches of 5x. Work the banks first... then cast out towards the middle. Watch your foam fly as the indicator... but be ready for it to get smashed as a dry. Once youve fished a good stretch of river thoroughly ( 100-200 yds) with hopper / droppers. Switch too a heavy streamer and fish across and down back to your starting point. In April and September... look for baetis mayfly and caddis hatches that bring fish to the surface. Streamers work in spring and fall as well. Tight lines.
I live there in cody fished that section of river my whole life not a single one of those fish you saw were "stocked" they hang up by that bridge because there a natural hot spring there I've caught them in the dead of January on a dry fly there

I was kinda disappointed in this video. I was expecting to see a fishing video and got a hiking video instead. Hiking down and having to come back up for the camera then going back down really cuts into the fishing time. At the end, we hear there you have it twice as though no effort was put into editing. Next time, maybe put more effort into fishing and editing rather than showing yourself hiking. I don't mind seeing a video with only one fish, if it's a higher quality video.
