American Yakuza fan here. You don’t understand how I want to see Tatsuya in the mainstream series. And now that they’re pretty much refreshing the series protagonists from the normal cast(Kiryu, Akiyama, Saejima) to the new cast(Y7 characters and Yagami) it would be nice to have him thrown in the mix at some point. Also I want Tanimura back in Judgment 2

Remember, Kiryu also fought very skillful martial artist before, like Komaki and the Amon clan. He himself took on ONE HUNDRED ARMED YAKUZA WITH SWORDS, GUNS AND ROCKETS(also had a similar situation when he fought the Omi goons during Yakuza 2, where he fought his way to the top of a building filled with armed enemies), fought and defeated 2 oversized hungry tigers, fought Majima to the point of breaking an entire floor of concrete, and many more. Not saying Tatsuya is weak, but in no way shape or form can he defeat Kiryu.
Kengan Ashura was inspired by Kurohyou, hell its not coincidence that Kokuro, one of fighters uses move called Stinger, which is same as the one Reiji uses.

Also the toe kick, which in game kills opponent by fracturing the weak point of the skull and then hits the brain, is form of karate (in Reiji case Kenpo as he follows it to roundhouse). This was used by Orochi in Baki but on body instead.
