    sir but volume rate of raffnate at 09:38 sec will not be 200 liter/min because large volume of straptomcin will be passed with organic solvent. we can say that volume of total input is equal to output. but same can not say for extract.
    and if i tried to convert it in mass flow rate and then try to solve. in that case i donot know density of raffnate because it is changed again. so in that way we can not solve the problem.

      Yes Deepak i have tried the same way by changing volumes into masses but we were lacking the information in this particular problem. So , as they have not mentioned the density of streptomycin i myself thought we can neglect the changes in the density of solution so we can write flow rate balancing of each organic solvent and aq solution.

      I guess the density of solvent is 0.6 g/cm3 so that means 0.6g of organic solvent in 1 cm3

      Arunava actually you can see there he found mass of streptomycin per unit mass of solvent so for calculation of mass fraction in next step he used 1

      We can even calculate the other way calculating ( mass of streptomycin =1960)÷( (mass of streptomycin+ mass of organic solvent) =6000+1960) gives you the same 0.246 value

    sir the humidifier problem... density is not given... so I took 22.4 lit of water as 1 mole.. form there I converted the 20cc/min to mole/min.... by this process the answer is different.. but why my method is wrong I cannot understand...
