I HIGHLY recommend watching Spectacular Spider-Man if you haven’t watched it. It’s probably the best animated adaptation of Spider-Man ever made.
Wait how did they never finish it? I only know of one they never finished and ended up on a clif hanger that made the bad guys look like they won for once and that one Spider-Man got isekai'd yes really
@@JohnnyYeTaecanUktena It aired in the middle of Disney acquiring the rights to MARVEL. Sony produced it, and it fell into awkward time slots on Disney’s secondary network(DisneyXD, brand new at the time). Disney decided not to renew the license to it and it fell into obscurity…. Spectacular Spider-Man also ended on a cliff hanger never to be concluded… I’ll never forgive Disney for it.
Yeah, it is annoying... It's similar how Young Justice ended, which they at least tried to bring back, though the third season isn't nearly as good in my opinion. (If I remember correctly the same people worked on it. Spectacular and Young Justice I mean.)
While it is disappointing, I am just thankful that we got 2 whole seasons out of it, before it was cut off. 2 seasons are better then one.
Honestly, I'd recommend Marvel Spider-Man from 2017 to 2020 (which got an ending), or the older one from the 90s (which also didn't get its ending). Both adapted several comic stories, have great voice acting, great details to the backgrounds and characters, and plenty of unique additions/tweaks to the mythos that are cohesive and feel well-developed. I watched the Spectacular Spider-Man and while it works... it felt a bit by-the-numbers, instead of trying to do much new with the interpretation, in addition to the art style feeling a bit simplistic for my tastes. It did have overarching plots, but they were more loosely connected than either of the other two which I mentioned.

Not so fun fact: Josh recorded an episode for Spider-Man in an episode of Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and he was really excited when the episode aired. And then he found out they dubbed him over with Drake Bell. For “synergy”.

One of the reasons the movies always fell short for me was their lack of the quips from spidey.

It visually is amazing. It's just not a masterpiece in terms of writing. If Peter parker in Miles' universe was never meant to die, then Miles' universe would have collapsed.
If Earth-42 Miles, was supposed to turn into Spider-Man, as the spider is originally from his universe, why is it that this universe didn't collapse?
Keeping things canon is not a solution to, hey now there's 3 Spider-Man in this universe saving and solving a whole bunch of people.
All Spider-Man / Spider-Gwen characters are extremely smart, yet only Miles figured out that Spot is getting more spots?
Miguel has an AI partner, and yet he had to rely on Spider-Avatar to turn off the "Go Home" Machine? What's the point of having an AI to run things, if they AI can in fact NOT control things. Can't they track where Miles was teleported to, instead of heading to his home, since you know, computers would have a history of these things....
Why wouldn't Prowler Miles let other Miles go? There's no reason to keep him hostage.

_Spectacular Spider-Man_ had the _best_ renditions of these characters, or at least the ones at that age. The '90s _Spider-Man_ on Fox Kids had their best versions as adults. I'm so glad that had the time to run its course. Unfortunate that when Sony sold to Disney, _SSM_ and _Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes_ both came to an end. Their replacement series were both severely lacking. _Marvel's Spider-Man_ too. They just can't get the balance between Peter and Spidey right, although Tom Holland is still great as Peter/Spidey. It's just too bad they didn't give him a solo hero career, like other iterations.
Know what I really hope _Spider-Verse_ can open up? Entirely new, original iterations of Spiders. The more off the wall and unusual, the better. _Spider-Man_ 's values, together with those of other heroes, are so universal you don't need it to always be Peter Parker, and it isn't. That's why Miguel O'Hara, and even Miles work. They're _different_ , making them their own characters. But versions that are just culture or gender-altered versions don't go far enough. We've seen it all before, and while it's a good story, it _has_ been told before. Throw us some curve balls so we don't fall asleep. I promise you won't regret it.
Also, _SSM_ had great writing.

Nux doesn't like content with actual bite since it comes with the risk of some random TH-cam staff member or the algorithm to demonetise and age restrict his content (thus killing chances of it appearing in anyone's recommendations feed) so he would be fine not witnessing his character taking in the alien tech or failing the colour sequence resulting in Randy getting probed.

So is _Across the Spider-Verse_ worth watching even though Miguel (and the Spider Society) believing that certain people have to die is against the most core of core _Spider-Man_ values? Yes, I haven't seen it, but I got spoiled on this. It's like nobody ever told them "with great power, there must also come great responsibility." I blame Sam Reimi's version for everyone forgetting those few words that make the phrase an imperative.

@@firepuppies4086 Yeah, I didn't like Webb's version. What an ironic situation, with his name. He made Peter too cool, and Spidey too quippy and jokey. I thought he came off looking like a creep when he was tracking the killer in the first movie, and I didn't like how he was with Gwen so much in the second one, like being Spider-Man was secondary. _Spider-Man_ has always been about the balance between Spider-Man and Peter Parker, or Peter struggling to achieve one. Which is another reason I didn't like the _Ultimate Spider-Man_ cartoon (besides it not being based on the comic): It was almost always Spidey, with very little Peter.
I cant trust anyone who says this is the best series of Spider-Man. The 90's one was of course the best, followed by Ultimate Spider-Man. Spectacular was cool and all but it just seemed corny most of the time
Ultimate went too hard with the humour so if you didn't like the style ot was going for like me it was a slog to get through 90's was good tho.
