- Our views of our stay in this lovely hotel have changed for the good since making this video so there will be a much more positive update coming up. However, we are very honest and thought it right to share our first impressions here at the Gran Bali Hotel in BENIDORM. We must add though..after 3 nights here we are really enjoying our stay here now and the staff are wonderful.

Yes, like others have said. I think you need a pleasant trip to Reception and offer a Buenos Dias Señor; Senora or possibly Señorita if you're lucky.
Advise them that you are in a room that disturbs your sleep from the air conditioning or some such thing and you would like a room change to one with a son facing balcony With decent views and modern furniture. Also advise them that for all British people everywhere, tea and coffee facilities are the dealbreaker as to whether the hotel is worth anything at all.
Mazzie, you could ask to see the room before you accept it and then upset Dan by choosing the room he doesn't like LOL.
Remember to smile and have a pleasant face when you're asking. They will be on minimum wage and just trying to get through the day too.

Hi guys Very impressed with the food buffet. It looks amazing, I like the rooms the ground floor where the shops are beautiful and the pools to die for. I'd of jumped straight in. lol 😆 enjoy, guys. I'm so jealous x

Enjoyed the tour around I'm very impressed with the food buffet never seen so much choice in one place. You're both looking very nice with Mazzy in white dress. Good to see you relaxing and taking it easy. Good to see it's not crowded as I guess it would be in summer I bet your can't move you have the place to yourself, enjoy your Birthday Dan.

I stayed at what was called the Bali 1 Hotel, when my daughter was only 18mths old and the Bali 2 which you are staying at was under construction then.
My daughter is 35 now, so the hotel isn't as old as it looks.
I remember being woken with the lovely sound of cement mixers starting up every morning Lol
Hi Dan and mazzie it so great to yous yous enjoying life, yous deserve it. All I’ve had this years starting from my mother dying is so many around me passing, so many friends and top it off my grand mother on my dads side at 91, god bless my dad his wife and mam. All I’m saying is take life buy the balls and just make as many happy memories and moments as possible and enjoy them. I’m just so pleased I can watch yous when the shits going down as it gives hope when life’s not the best. I’ve followed yous for years and Dan before and just wish yous a amazing Christmas and new year and think the world of yous. ALL THE BEST PETER AND CO😂

Hi Dan & Mazzy, when you get in the lifts keep your finger pressed on the button, don't take it off till you get to your floor, see if it will take you non stop to the one you want.

Hi guys, we are loving watching you in benidorm as we love it there at this time of year. I would highly recommend a trip over to benidorm island from the marina by dove corner. Its not seasonal as we have been at this time. Amazing views! X

Occasionally when I hear the noise from a crowd of sports fans it always sounds like screeching to me also! Even on top of the line TVs! :)

Looks like you've got a family room with the extra bed. Go complain to reception regarding shower etc. And get moved to a nicer one.
Happy birthday Dan, we have just arrived in Benidorm but with our Moho and staying at the Raco campsite. Absolutely huge but very clean site. Last time we was in Benidorm we stayed in a self catering apartment, much prefer the look of your hotel plus you have food. I got dragged down to Levante beach today and not a snack or beer offered by my partner 😀

People can’t make things right unless it’s brought to their attention……bet they’d jump at the chance to have your hotel review ‘upgraded’. Sometimes things get overlooked and as others have said Reception will be more than happy to help. Enjoy the rest of your break x

Evening, the noise you can hear is coming from the lifts. I've had it a few times when I've stayed in hotels with work. Ask for a exchange or rooms.
Can you request to be relocated to a different room due to the noise?
Your room reminds me of a poor Premier Inn. But at least they have a kettle. Such a shame you've spent all that money. Have a merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤️

The balcony in the smaller part of hotel are bigger and you still get a good view going back in August
I see the hotel hasn't changed any since we were there about five years ago. Only good thing about it is the view. They clearly spent most of their budget in the fancy reception area. We were all inclusive and the best food we had was the one night we got kebab on chips from across the road. We now take the star system with a pinch of salt when abroad.
I think this hotel is amazing I can't wait to go. Also the decor you need to remember you're in Spain they have different cultural styles. Thanks for this amazing a fair review. What are the prices like in the bar because I'm only half board
Couldn't say, we were full board so never bought a drink.

Maybe the hotel was built to avoid the very high temps in summer, ie keep the room cooler.

you should go and complain about the faults and ask for a kettle im sure the hotel manager will try their hardest to make you happy.
when we have complained in the past at various hotels, staff could not be more accommodating in making our stay lovely.
remember you are paying for it so they are essentially working for you. anyway good luck and a great video as always.
Very interesting guys. I think a lot of Spanish hotels seem dated or is it just their style how they live in Spain?! If you look at apartments for sale many have similar furniture 🙈😂. Glad your still looking at the positives. Roll on tomorrow 🎉
And the houses full of carpets Up ti the ceiling in England that is old fashioned and unhygienic and in london i have been in hotels that seemed from the victorian era because of how updated they where; 😱

@@cornwallandbeyondwithsmith8119 i live in a interior town in the interior of spain sometimes was reach 10 below pero in winter and snow up ti knee all winter with possible colder than anywhere un britain specially fue to alltitude ; Spain is very large and It is not Hot and sunny in all of spain that is very simplistic visión of my country and i have never carpet

Unfortunately he passed away 2 hours ago in a hospice. We were going to visit before covid etc.
Love your dress Mazzy, Ye should ask to have a room with a kettle and a shower that works properly. Cold breakfast, not good enogh either. Ye have paid enough for ye're stay.. I love view from window and lovely sunrise.

Loads of Spanish hotels are quite dated from what ive seen but they usually have a good buffet selection of food. Weve found that the beans are always cold on every all inclusive breakfast🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️love the views from the room but i wouldnt be able to look down from your balcony, it gives me so much anxiety to be that far up. Enjoy the rest of your stay❤️

Hope you checked with the desk about the coffee tea. I do travel lots of hotels with my business and have never encountered one without the coffee tea. Maybe prior occupants took the pot home with them
Go and try the shopping centre which is 15 minute walk you will love it great videos and enjoy the sunshine

I would give that hotel 2 stars, definitely not 4 stars... I would also complain about the empty fridge, the broken shower, the bathrobes, and the whole experience that is lacking in your mini expensive holiday. I won't be staying there ever.

I think you've paid for a nice view. They must have their own star rating system. I've stayed in 3 different hotels in Benidorm over the years and gone cheap and cheerful. It was a longer walk to the beach but the same colour furniture. I've had to walk a mile to collect room keys, complain about noisy neighbours and eat breakfast in a mad crazy hall of loud dayglow holiday makers. Nothing with a grand entrance hall like yours though.

The furniture can’t be 1970’s they didn’t start building the hotel til 1988 and it didn’t open until 2002. 😂😂😂
